  • Recently Hurley [3] proved that if A is a weak attractor of a discrete dyanamical system f then there exists a Lyapunov-like function for A. The purpose of this note is to study whether the converse of the above result does hold or not.

  • This paper present backstepping control approach for controling chaotic Liu system. The proposed method is a systematic design approach and consists in a recursive procedure that interlaces the choice of a Lyapunov Function. Based on Lyapunov stability theory, control laws are derived. We used the same technique to enable stabilization of chaotic motion to a steady state as well as tracking of any desired trajectory to be achieved in a systematic way. Numerical solution are shown to verify the result.

  • This paper proposes a stability condition in affine Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems with parametric uncertainties and then, introduces the design method of a fuzzy-model-based controller which guarantees the stability. The analysis is based on Lyapunov functions that are continuous and piecewise quadratic. The search for a piecewise quadratic Lyapunov function can be represented in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs).

  • In this paper, by means of Lyapunov second method, the stability of IPD control servo systems is analyzed in the time domain for the first time. Based on the results of the stability analysis, the design rule to select the gain of IPD control is suggested such that the maximum error of output to the nominal system is guaranteed for all uncertainty and load variations. An example of a position control of a brushless dc motor is given to prove the unusefulness of the gain design rule.

  • Using the computer-generated Lyapunov functions due to Brayton-tong's constructive algorithm, we estimate the domains of attraction of dynamical systems of the second order, and analyze the asymptotic stability of large scale contincous-time and discrete-time systems by the decomposition and aggregation method. With this approach we get the less conservative stability results than the existing methods.

  • In this paper, new results using bounds for the solution of the discrete Lyapunov matrix equation are proposed, and some of the existing works are generalized. The bounds obtained are advantageous in that they provide nontrivial upper bounds even when some existing results yield trivial ones.

  • In this paper, we suggest a new adaptive control theory for discrete-time single-input single output systems based on the Lyapunov's stability theory by using the fact that the transfer function of the model is strictly positive real. And also, obervers are used in the structure of controller. The result of computer simulation shows that the proposed algorithm can be applied to both stable and unstable plants.

  • For that the attitude control performance test of the satellite, dynamic analysis of satellite structure performed in reference with KOREASAT, and the equation of motion of rigid bodies was derivated. For attitude stability, Lyapunov's stability theorem and state space expression were applied to dynamic equation of satellite. To prove efficiency of our method, simulations are performed and result are shown.

  • 본 논문에서는 연속 및 이산 Lyapunov 방정식의 해의 고유치 및 트레이스의 범위를 시스템 행렬의 고유치 및 고유벡터 행렬을 이용하여 표시한다. 이산 시스템의 경우 시스템 행렬의 최대 특이치가 1보다 큰 경우나 연속 시스템의 경우 시스템 행렬의 대칭행렬이 불안정한 경우에도 상한 값이 항상 계산 가능한 범위가 제시된다. 본 논문에서 제시된 범위들은 몇가지 조건을 갖고 다른 문헌에서 제시된 것들 보다 정확하며, 더욱이 특정한 시스템 행렬에 대해서는 범위의 상한과 하한이 일치한다.

  • This paper proposes a sequential procedure which can be used to determine a truncation point and run length to reduce or remove bias owing to artificial startup conditions in simulations aimed at estimating steady-state behavior. It is based on the idea of Lyapunov exponent in chaos theory. The performance measures considered are relative bias, coverage, estimated relative half-width of the confidence interval, and mean amount of deleted data.
