Low-cost Contact formation of High-Efficiency Crystalline Silicon Solar Cells by Plating

  • High-efficiency silicon solar cells have potential applications on mobile electronics and electrical vehicles. The fabrication processes of the high efficiency cells necessitate com placated fabrication precesses and expensive materials. Ti/Pd/Ag metal contact has been used only for limited area In spite of good stability and low contact resistance because of Its expensive material cost and precesses. Screen printed contact formed by Ag paste causes a low fill factor and a high shading loss of commercial solar cells because of high contact resistance and a low aspect ratio. Low cost Ni/Cu metal contact has been formed by using a low cost electroless and electroplating. Nickel silicide formation at the interface enhances stability and reduces the contact resistance resulting In an energy conversion efficiency of $20.2\%\;on\;0.50{\Omega}cm$ FZ wafer. Tapered contact structure has been applied to large area solar cells with $6.7\times6.7cm^2$ in order to reduce power losses by the front contact The tapered front metal contact Is easily formed by the electroplating technique producing $45cm^2$ solar cells with an efficiency of $21.4\%$ on $21.4\%\;on\;2{\Omega}cm$ FZ wafer.

탄소저감형 트롤어구 개발의 경제성 분석 (Economic analysis of development of low-carbon trawl gear)

  • The main purpose of this study is to analyse economic feasibility of low-carbon-oriented trawl gear. The results of benefit/cost analysis showed that use of the low-carbon fishing gear is economically feasible. Considering the fuel saving and relatively low $CO_2$ emission by reducing the resistance of gear, net present value by such gear improvement was estimated about 2,430~2,853 million won with the benefit-cost ratio 1.65~1.84 and the internal rate of return 29.18~30.48 percent. Development of low-carbon trawl gear would render significant contributions to reducing $CO_2$ emission in fishing operations and lead to reduce fishing costs due to fuel savings.

  • In this paper, a low cost, low power but multifunctional wireless sensor node is presented for the impedance-based SHM using piezoelectric sensors. Firstly, a miniaturized impedance measuring chip device is utilized for low cost and low power structural excitation/sensing. Then, structural damage detection/sensor self-diagnosis algorithms are embedded on the on-board microcontroller. This sensor node uses the power harvested from the solar energy to measure and analyze the impedance data. Simultaneously it monitors temperature on the structure near the piezoelectric sensor and battery power consumption. The wireless sensor node is based on the TinyOS platform for operation, and users can take MATLAB$^{(R)}$ interface for the control of the sensor node through serial communication. In order to validate the performance of this multifunctional wireless impedance sensor node, a series of experimental studies have been carried out for detecting loose bolts and crack damages on lab-scale steel structural members as well as on real steel bridge and building structures. It has been found that the proposed sensor nodes can be effectively used for local wireless health monitoring of structural components and for constructing a low-cost and multifunctional SHM system as "place and forget" wireless sensors.

  • In this study, a study was carried out to see what influence low-cost carrier's e-service quality has on low-cost carrier customers' perceived value and customer satisfaction and what impact the results have on customer loyalty based on the results of previous studies related to e-SERVQUAL, an e-SERVQUAL measurement model for general e-commerce. In addition, a survey of consumers who have experienced using low-cost carrier experience through web sites was conducted. For the analysis of the data collected, SPSS 18.0 was used to conduct frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis and thus to test a hypothesis. Research findings showed that perceived value and customer satisfaction are closely related to customer loyalty, and it was also observed that the reliability factor on the service provided on the web site acts as an important influencing factor for customer loyalty in the perceived value and security factors such as payment by credit cards and protection of personal information serve as important one in terms of customer satisfaction. This study has its limitation in that samples of users who have experienced low-cost carrier are concentrated on specific ages and professions. In the future, it is required to conduct further studies on whether difference is made on the importance of measurement factors related to e-service quality by gender, age group, occupation, and e-service quality.

저가 관성센서의 오차보상을 위한 간접형 칼만필터 기반 센서융합과 소형 비행로봇의 자세 및 위치결정 (Indirect Kalman Filter based Sensor Fusion for Error Compensation of Low-Cost Inertial Sensors and Its Application to Attitude and Position Determination of Small Flying robot)

  • This paper presents a sensor fusion method based on indirect Kalman filter(IKF) for error compensation of low-cost inertial sensors and its application to the determination of attitude and position of small flying robots. First, the analysis of the measurement error characteristics to zero input is performed, focusing on the bias due to the temperature variation, to derive a simple nonlinear bias model of low-cost inertial sensors. Moreover, from the experimental results that the coefficients of this bias model possess non-deterministic (stochastic) uncertainties, the bias of low-cost inertial sensors is characterized as consisting of both deterministic and stochastic bias terms. Then, IKF is derived to improve long term stability dominated by the stochastic bias error, fusing low-cost inertial sensor measurements compensated by the deterministic bias model with non-inertial sensor measurement. In addition, in case of using intermittent non-inertial sensor measurements due to the unreliable data link, the upper and lower bounds of the state estimation error covariance matrix of discrete-time IKF are analyzed by solving stochastic algebraic Riccati equation and it is shown that they are dependant on the throughput of the data link and sampling period. To evaluate the performance of proposed method, experimental results of IKF for the attitude determination of a small flying robot are presented in comparison with that of extended Kaman filter which compensates only deterministic bias error model.

LA/LB항과 부산항의 저탄소 항만운영에 관한 비교연구 - 비용부담을 중심으로 - (A Comparative Study on Low-Carbon Port Management of Busan and LA/LB - On the Basis of Port Management Cost -)

  • 전 세계적으로 기후변화에 대응하기 위한 노력이 본격화되는 가운데, 그동안 관심이 적었던 항만으로부터의 탄소배출량이 상당량에 이르고 이의 억제를 위한 노력이 LA/LB(Los Angeles/Long Beach)항만을 중심으로 선진항만에서 전개되고 있다. 우리나라는 최근 Green Port 전략의 일환으로 부산항에서 저탄소 항만운영정책이 강화되고 있다. 저탄소 항만운영은 단기적으로 항만비용을 증가시켜 가격경쟁력을 약화시킨다. 따라서 부산항의 경우 저탄소 항만운영으로 인한 비용을 항만이용자에게 부담시키지 않고 항만당국이 저탄소를 위한 정책을 시행하고 비용을 부담하고 있다. 반면 LA/LB의 경우 저탄소 항만운영의 비용을 선주 및 화주 등 항만이용자에게 부담시키고 있다. 본 연구에서는 부산항과 LA/LB항의 저탄소 항만운영에 관한 비교분석을 통해 부산항의 지속가능한 항만운영의 시사점을 제시하였다.

2001 국민건강.영양조사 자료를 이용한 빈곤층 가구의 식료품비 추정 (Estimation of Food Cost for Low Income Families Using Food Consumption Data of the 2001 Korean National Health and Nutrition Survey)

  • The purpose of this study was to estimate the minimum monthly food cost for the low income population. The food consumption data of 9,311 individuals from the 2001 Korean National Health and Nutrition Survey was used. The monthly food cost was calculated using the Consumer Food Price Database for the year 2001 provided by the Public Health Nutrition Laboratory, Seoul National University. The low income population (n = 1,310) was characterized as older age, lower income, smaller family size, lower education level, and lower energy intake as compared with the total population (n = 8,001). The estimated food cost showed that men in the low income population needed 15% more money for purchasing food to maintain the energy intake level at the average energy intake level of men in the total population. It was also estimated that women in the low income population needed 9% more money for purchasing food to maintain the energy intake level at the average energy intake level of women in the total population. There were differences in monthly food costs depending on the sex and age, and family size. The results of this study could be used as basic information to establish minimum food cost for the low income population in Korea.

키 분할을 이용한 Low-Cost RFID 시스템 상호 인증 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Low-Cost RFID System Mutual Authentication Scheme using Key Division)

  • RFID 시스템은 바코드를 대체하기 위한 무선 주파수 식별 기술로 유비쿼터스 환경을 구축하는 핵심 기술이다. RFID 시스템은 인식 속도 및 저장 공간 등 많은 편리성으로 사용이 급증하였지만 저가의 태그가 리더의 쿼리에 의하여 쉽게 동작하기 때문에 태그의 정보 노출에 따른 사용자 프라이버시 침해 문제가 발생하고 있다. 보안을 적용하기 위하여 많은 방식들이 연구되고 있지만 저가의 태그는 $5K{\sim}10K$ 게이트 정도의 연산 능력을 가지고 있으며 그 중 $250{\sim}3K$ 게이트 정도만을 보안에 할당할 수 있기 때문에 보안 적용이 어려운 실정이다. 따라서 본 방식은 64비트의 키를 분할하여 사용하며 연산을 최대한 줄여 Low-Cost RFID 시스템에 적용할 수 있는 상호 인증 방안에 대하여 제안한다. 기존 방식들은 96비트의 키를 4개로 분할하여 사용하였으나 본 방식은 경량화를 위하여 키 크기를 32비트 줄이고 7번의 통신 횟수를 5번으로 감소시켰다. 또한 두 개의 난수를 생성하는 기존 방식에 비하여 난수 한 개로 보안을 제공하기 때문에 더욱 효율적이라고 할 수 있다. 하지만 XOR 연산만으로 제공되지 못했던 무결성을 위하여 해쉬 함수를 사용하여 제안 방식의 확장을 추가하였다. 확장된 방식은 XOR 연산만을 사용하는 방식들보다 효율성은 제공되지 못하지만 인식 거리가 먼 RFID 시스템에서도 사용할 수 있도록 안전하게 제안된 방식이다.

Low-Cost Position Sensorless Switched Relutance Motor Drive Using a Single-Controllable Switch Converter

  • Elimination of rotor position sensors mechanically coupled with the rotor shaft is attractive to variable speed drives primarily due to increased system reliability and cost reduction. In this regard, search for a simple and robust position sensorless control has been intensified in past few years specifically for low-cost, high-volume applications such as home appliances. This paper describes a new parameter insensitive position sensorless control for switched reluctance motor (SRM) drives satisfying such a need in this market segment. Two consecutive switch-on times of the controllable switch in hysteresis current control are compared to estimate the rotor position and speed. The proposed sensorless control algorithm is very simple to implement since it does not depend on extensive computation or any additional hardware. In addition, the proposed method is robust in that its dynamic performance is least affected by system parameter variations. The proposed approach is demonstrated on a single-controllable-switch-converter-driven SRM with two-phases that lends itself to a system with low cost and compact packaging which comes close to the intended applications. Analysis and simulation results followed by experimental verification are presented to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed sensorless control method.

  • This study considers the feasibility of using the low cost assembled separator. The graphite plate has been widely used as the separator in the field of PEMFCs(Polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell) industry because of its excellent material properties such as good corrosion resistance, good electrical conductance and so on. However, there are some problems for the commercialization due to its poor cost effectiveness for the large volume manufacturing and lack of mechanical strength. From this respect, this study has focused on the manufacturing technology in order to reduce the price for the commercialization of separator. This study also shows that the assembled separator of the suggested structure, which is composed of grafoil and PC(PolyCarbonate) materials, could be manufactured at low cost enough for the mass production. The flow fields produced by cutting foils and the base plates of the separators were simply made by mechanical work.
