  • This study attempted to analyze the trade in goods effect of the Korea-ASEAN FTA by using logistics performance index, which are evaluation indicators of logistics industry workers on the logistics environment and logistics system in international trade. The World Bank's logistics performance index are six indicators: customs clearance, logistics infra, ease of shipment, logistics services, goods tracking abilities, and on-time transportation. The purpose of this study was to examine how it affects commodity trade between Korea and ASEAN states using the gravity model using panel data. Through this, it was confirmed that logistics performance index affect the increase in commodity trade.

  • According to the "2021 Trade Statistics" released by the Korea Customs Service, the number of domestic export companies has decreased by 2,400 since COVID-19, and the number of importers has increased by 10,000. Exporting companies are making a great contribution to the economic development of Korea along with the creation of domestic jobs. At a time when the logistics environment changes rapidly, there are insufficient papers analyzing the impact of eco-friendly logistics strategies of domestic exporters on logistics performance. In order for exporting companies to continue to have global competitiveness and improve logistics performance, it is necessary to analyze the impact of eco-friendly logistics strategies on the logistics performance of exporting companies. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of eco-friendly logistics strategies of domestic export companies on logistics performance. The eco-friendly logistics strategy is divided into an internal strategy and a supply chain management strategy. As a result of the analysis, it was analyzed that the internal strategy has a positive effect on the logistics performance of exporting companies, and the supply chain management strategy has a positive effect on the logistics performance of exporting companies. As such, it was analyzed that the eco-friendly logistics strategy of exporting companies is an important resource for companies and serves as the basis for improving the logistics performance of companies.

  • This paper aims to explore the strategic roles of information and strategic planning capabilities for firms' performance, and to examine the direct and indirect relationships between information capability, strategic planning capability, logistics performance and competitive advantage. The present research adopts resource based theory (RBT) to explore the relationships between a firm's specific capability and its performance and employs structural equation modelling (SEM) in order to test the validation of the measurement models and examine the relationships between construct variables. The current empirical test was conducted using the data collected from logistics managers of 101 Korean electronics companies. The empirical research presents positive influential relationships between (1) information/planning formality capability and strategic planning capability; (2) strategic planning capability and logistics performance; (3) logistics performance and competitive advantage; and (4) competitive advantage and competitive position in the market.

  • This study aims to investigate the relationship between cargo volume and logistics performance index published by World Bank which indicate countries' logistics performance. In this study, the results were derived through panel regression analysis consisting of variables such as gross domestic product, geographical distance, population, and LPI using container export/import volume and bulk export/import volume as dependent variables. As a result of the empirical analysis, it was found that Korea's container volume was affected by the overall level of logistics, in particular, was deeply related to the logistics infrastructure, while bulk volume was not related to the logistics level or was less influential.

  • Environmental problems are becoming hot issues in many countries and the role of the enterprise, which causes environmental contamination, has become one of the most important concerns in business. We consider the factors such as reduce, recycle, reuse, which is effected environment conscious logistics system, and then we are to suggest optimal directions through statistical analysis of effects and causes of the influences of environmental logistics activities on logistics performance. In order to attain this objective we simultaneously execute a literature and actual research considering many manufacturing companies. In this paper we analyze various factors of logistics activities for environment conscious logistics system (ECLS) for economy base construction under resources circulation, and we especially analyze effects and causes of the influences of logistics performance by the operation characteristic of enterprises.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the impact of information technology resources and quality of information in logistics information system on logistics performance of logistics companies. The questionnaire targets IT manager of logistics companies. In the questionnaire survey for empirical analysis, we conducted a survey and used 125 responses for statistical analysis to validate hypotheses. The results from the empirical model suggest that quality of information in logistics information system tend to be influence by IT resource. And firm's logistics performance is effected by the usefulness of quality of information in logistics information system.

  • This study The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of relationship factors and technical factors on the logistics performance of logistics companies. As a result of the analysis, information sharing, mutual trust, and mutual benefit of the inter-organizational relationship factors as factors affecting the logistics performance were analyzed as the factors that positively influence the logistics performance. In the technology factor, IT infrastructure and technology reliability are analyzed as factors that positively influence logistics performance, but system operation capacity is analyzed as a factor that does not positively affect logistics performance. Based on the results of this analysis, it can be confirmed that logistics companies can maximize the logistics performance by mutual sharing of information, mutual benefit and trust, and it is also confirmed that technical reliability is also an important factor.

  • Logistics companies have rapidly developed as an important component of economic activities, but due to the special performance management method of logistics companies, problems in performance evaluation are emerging. This paper presented a strategy for improving performance by analyzing the management performance of 19 listed logistics companies in China. Operating expenses, R&D expenses, labor costs, and general management expenses were adopted as input variables, and operating profit and net profit were adopted as output variables. DEA efficiency was assessed by the BBC model from 2016 to 2021 using DEAP 2.1 software. As a result of analyzing the annual management performance, some listed logistics companies showed stable and forward-looking performance results.

  • The results of this paper show that strategic and technical factors in the integration of logistics between shipping and logistics companies act as a synchronizing factor for internal and external logistics integration. In addition, internal integration of logistics is expanded to external integration, and internal and external logistics integration is shown to enhance the logistics performance of companies. In other words, the greater the strategic need for logistics integration and the higher the utilization of logistics technology, the stronger the motivation for logistics integration. Furthermore, both internal and external integration of logistics have a positive impact on companies' logistics costs and improvement of logistics services.

  • The research purpose of this paper is to empirically examine the effects of technological readiness and innovation on logistics performance. To build up and maintain an important role in global supply chains, nowadays it is obvious that countries and logistics providers need to achieve competitive advantage in terms of digitalization. However, there is a lack of empirical studies about the impacts of information technologies and innovation potential on the logistics efficiency of countries. Hence, the study analyzes whether the corresponding pillars of the Global Competitiveness Index (GCI) matter for the Logistics Performance Index (LPI) and its dimensions. For determining the effects, the pooled regression approach is applied. The results show that technological readiness and innovation are positively and statistically significantly correlated with logistics performance: competence and quality of logistics services, efficiency of customs clearance processes, ability to track and trace consignments, frequency with which shipments reach consignee within scheduled or expected time, and ease of arranging competitively priced shipments. The findings of this study suggest that investments in innovations and technology progress improve countries' logistics efficiency, which is an important prerequisite for enabling Logistics 4.0 and thus, Industry 4.0 and the digital transformation of the economy and society.
