A Real-Time Sound Recognition System with a Decision Logic of Random Forest for Robots (Random Forest를 결정로직으로 활용한 로봇의 실시간 음향인식 시스템 개발)

  • In this paper, we propose a robot sound recognition system that detects various sound events. The proposed system is designed to detect various sound events in real-time by using a microphone on a robot. To get real-time performance, we use a VGG11 model which includes several convolutional neural networks with real-time normalization scheme. The VGG11 model is trained on augmented DB through 24 kinds of various environments (12 reverberation times and 2 signal to noise ratios). Additionally, based on random forest algorithm, a decision logic is also designed to generate event signals for robot applications. This logic can be used for specific classes of acoustic events with better performance than just using outputs of network model. With some experimental results, the performance of proposed sound recognition system is shown on real-time device for robots.

  • Uniform weld pool shape is important in determining the weld quality. And weld pool width is one of the most dominant factors of the seld pool shape. In order to control the weld pool width, the fuzzy logic controller, which is well adapted to the complicated nonlinear systems such as welding, was used in this study. The weld pool image was obtained through CCD camera, and the weld pool width was calculated by processing the image. Uaing the calculated width, welding speed, as a control input, was inferred by the fuzzy logic controller. An uniform weld pool width can be successfully obtained regardless of the disturbances in the system.

  • This paper presents the characteristics of each MOS device and Bipolar device, then investigates about how these devices take effect on BiCMOS inverter from 300K to 470K. The turn-off and Logic swing characteristics of BiCMOS inverter are degraded by the electrical characteristics of the MOS to around 400K, but over that temperature enhanced by the characteristics of the Bipolar transistor.

  • The EDL (Embedded DRAM and Logic) technologies with stack cell capacitors based on NO dielectric and Co-silicided source/drain junctions using a Ti capping material, were successfully implemented. The employed Co-silicided film exhibited junction leakage characteristics comparable to those of non-silicided junctions. Improved device characteristics without degradation of I/sub off/ was also achieved.

  • An optoelectronic database filter chip for high performance database computers and applications is proposed. The proposed device is designed to perform the selection and projection operations of relational database operation on-the-fly in page-parallel manner to increase the overall performance of a database system. The device utilizes CMOS smart pixel array consists of detector and combinational logic circuit to perform the selection and projection operation.

  • A key advantage of boundary scan technology is the ability to observe data at device inputs and control data at device outputs, independent of on-chip system logic. But, this method has a disadvantage for detecting of faults that changes their states very fast. We present a method to solve this problem and make it possible to detect the signals. We shown the simulation results of testing a circuit that has fast signal above the clock speed.

  • We have developed a new experimental driving system in order to make an easier drive experiment of PDP. By using the system, we can design and simulate the timing of the pulse in computer environment. As a result of the designed timing, we are able to program at PLD(Programmable Logic Device) and control high-voltage FET switches. The new system can reduce the time of the pulse compared with the previous logic gate ICs that realizes switching logic through hardware. In addition, it is a much easier way of changing the timing of the pulse due to the change of the driving method. By using the developed driving system we experimented on two different things- First, the realization of ADS Driving Method that run commonly; Second, gray scale realization on the three electrodes AC PDP.

  • This paper deals with design and verification of an arithmetic logic unit(ALU) to be used for development of optical computers. The ALU is based on optical switching device, $LiNbO_3$, which is easy to interface with electronic technology and most common in the market. It consists of an arithmetic/logic circuit performing logic operations, memory devices storing operands and the results of operations, and supplementary circuits to select instruction codes, and operates in bit-serial manner. In addition, a simulator is developed for verification of the design, and a set of basic instructions are executed in sequence and step-by-step changes in the accumulator and the memory are examined through simulations, to show that various operations are performed correctly.

  • This paper presents an optimization algorithm and technique for designing parallel Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) circuit, which is most widely adopted for error detection A new heuristic algorithm is developed to find as many shared terms as possible, thus eventually to minimize the number and level of the exclusive-or logic blocks in parallel CRC circuits. 16-bit and 32-bit CRC generators are designed with different types of Programmable Logic Devices, and it has been found that our new algorithm and architecture significantly reduce the delay.

A Study on Improvement of Submarine Torpedo Acoustic Counter Measure Launcher System Safety Device Performance (잠수함용 어뢰기만기 발사체계 안전장치 작동성능 향상에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to improve submarine TACM launcher system safety device performance. Methods: In this study, EPLD(Electrically Programmable Logic Device) control and time sharing method to the safety device actuator motor and discrete signal processor in launch control panel were used to resolve unusual performance of safety system. Results: The result of this study are as follows; First, sporadic stopping of safety device actuator motor due to insufficient In-Rush current was resolved. Second, repeat of safety device condition as lock & release due to chattering for motor activating was resolved. Third, simultaneous release function for safety device actuator was available. Conclusion: The unusual performance of function for submarine TACM launcher system was overcame by applying EPLD control and time sharing method. The suggestions were proved by performance test in the pressure chamber. The results of this study enhanced survivability of ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$ class submarine from enemy torpedo.
