  • This research aims to develop practical location-based services that provide users with personalized theater guide services on smart phones. In this research, we have designed and implemented a smart theater guide system for Deahakro, Seoul based on smart phones incorporating GPS. This system first identifies the current position using GPS, and maps the current position onto the map. It is designed and implemented to provide users with personalized information service about the plays and the theaters nearby the current position. It is also optimized to be useful effectively by performing on-site experiments.

  • The goal of our research is to develop more effective bus information system using user generated information and social tagging. In this research, we have developed a smartphone-based bus guide system using social tagging and awareness of location. It will guide users to the nearby bus stops and provides users with information about the bus lines at the bus stops. Information around bus-stops can also be registered as tags into the system by users and can be utilized for bus information service. Simple keyword search utilizing tagging information can provide users with bus information about destinations.

  • When we are visiting unfamiliar huge public places, it is hard to know what, how, and where to go. For solving these problems, we have suggest a user guide system, and a knowledge model which is built to support the system. High intelligence guidance system needs to react the user's context more spontaneously, which could be obtained when a system aware both the location and process coordinately. In this paper, we will show how our knowledge model is designed to enable the system to interpret simultaneously both of them.

  • The present much information of internet has to exist for innumerable user so that couldn't satisfy there's a variety of demand. so they have a demerit that search unnecessary information. However Web service is different with other mass media because It is possible that enable Mass Customization for Personalization strategy. In The paper suggest reasoning system that detect user connection location by using indirect abstraction techniques a kind of Case-based reasoning techniques.

  • EPCIS(EPC Information Services) system is a core component of EPCglobal Architecture Framework offering information of the freights, the time of awareness and the location of awareness on the EPCglobal Network. The role of EPCIS is to exchange information based on EPC. There are four kinds of event data which are object event data, aggregation event data, quantity event data, and transaction event data. These EPCIS events data are stored and managed in EPCIS repository. This paper leads to separate a in-out data overload of integrated EPCIS event and suggests the method to effectively manage EPCIS repository for exchanging data smoothly. In order to verify a effectiveness, we measure the performance of the system using a simple testing simulation by comparing existing method and suggested method.

  • Losing a child is one fear parents never want to experiences. Nothing can take away the anguish of it. Unfortunately, it happens all too often. A lost child problem is the social problem that all parents should be worried about. To this, this study applies RFID for lost child prevention. RFID technology is developing to position recognition technology in addition to functions to distinguish a thing. Although RFID is not designed for location sensing, but now it is regarded as a device to facilitate real time location awareness. It is also possible to transfer information in the USN. Those advantages of RFID can be integrated with LBS achieving much synergy. However, such technology is mostly used indoors and outdoor research case is short. Therefore, this study is the preceding study having progressed to actual application. This study verifies technical applied service, and presents a system configuration model. Finally, this paper confirms lost child prevention system utilization possibility.

  • Due to the rapid advance in web and mobile computing technologies, normal users have become to produce, provide, and share a varied form of spatial data and information. In the domain of spatial information, numerous researches on GIS have been conducted to provide spatial information services based on a geo-sensor network and a data integration and processing technology. However, to provide user-oriented information, a context information model is necessary to associate GIS data with web and sensor data. Context awareness services is designed to provide specific information, minimizing users' interference. For which, the context information model expresses the relationship of various data from sensor networks and mobile applications and provides a user-specific information considering location and area of interest. Thus, this research aims to develops a context information model based air-pollution information system that obtains and analyses air pollution data and reflects the analysis results on an air-pollution policy. Also, this system aims to raise citizens' awareness on air-pollution and to promote citizens' participatory to improve city's air quality.

  • In ubiquitous spaces, a user wants to be provided with a VOD service while moving one space to another freely. Since the traditional VOD system is dependent on user location, the VOD server transmits video data to a single client during a session. If the user moves to another space, he/she should close the old session and make a new request for the same video. However, the location-aware VOD system supports user mobility by closing and opening the session automatically. That is, the VOD system automatically perceives the movement of a user and allows the server to change the data flow so that a client near the user can receive the video data. This paper proposes a location-aware VOD service architecture and a session handoff scheme to provide a mobile user with continuous video delivery and implements a location-aware VOD prototype system based on Jini and Java. In experiment, we show that the proposed handoff scheme has a smaller handoff delay than the other handoff scheme.
