Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) in sediments of Kwangyang bay on Korea, have been investigated by gas chromatography-mass spectrometery (GC/MS). The average content of total PAHs in all samples was 2,211ppb, and the range was from 36 to 22,699ppb. The higher concentrations were found in sediment sampled near Kwangyang iron processing plant, Taeindo. The resulting distributions of PAHs according to the number of aromatic ring and molecular ratios of specific aromatic compounds (phenanthrene, anthracene, fluoranthene and pyrene) have been discussed in terms of sample location, origin of the organic matter. Four, five and six rings of PAHs were mainly found near to Kwangyang iron processing plant, and three and four rings near to Yeosu chemical kombinat This result typically indicated the local characteristics, depending on the origin of PAHs.

A CMOS 950 MHz frequency synthesizer is designed and fabricated in a 0.8.mu.m standard CMOS process for IS-95-A CDMA mobile communication transceivers To utilize a CMOS ring VCO in a CDMA wireless communication receisver, we employed a QDC (quasi-direct conversion) receiver architecture for CDMA applications. Realized RF frequency synthesizer used as the RF local oscillator for a QDC receiver exhibits a phase noise of -92 dBc/Hz at 885kHz offset from the 950.4 MHz carrier, which complies with IS-95-A CDMA specification. It has a rms jitter of 23.7 ps, and draws 30mA from a 5V supply. Measured I/Q phase error of the 950.4 output signals is 0.7 degree.

This paper presents an optimization approach to the configuration of train radio communication network for CBTC. The target specifications of CBTC communication systems are derived from technical requirements for CBTC. The proposed communication system has a ring-topology backbone communication network between stations and a radio network based on IEEE 802.11b wireless tan between trains and wayside devices. The proposed method has been applied to the standardization of the signalling system of urban transits.

We applied our technique of selective bronchial suctioning (SBS) for the treatment of atelectasis after resection surgery of lung in four patients with refractory atelectasis who were treated successfully. We considered that SBS using hydro-catheter insertion under local anesthesia above fourth tracheal ring is the effective technique for the treatment of refractory atelectasis when conventional respiratory therapy is not effective and a bronchoscopist is not available.

We investigate the southeastern region of the Vela supernova remnant (SNR) in the multi-wavelength domains. This region is quite interesting because it includes the bullet feature D/D´ and another SNR (the Vela Jr.). The C IV $\lambda\lambda1548$, 1551 emission-line morphologies obtained from the FIMS/SPEAR data show that there are several local peaks of C IV on the bullet D/D´ and the Vela Jr. SNR. This may provide clues to direct interaction between both SNRs. Also, we found that the southeastern side of the Vela is in direct contact with an H-alpha ring feature whose central source seems to be a B-type star, HD 76161. The C IV emission peaks along this contact boundary. We investigate this interacting region in detail.

It is first shown that for each $t{\leq}r$ and each sequence $x_1,{\cdots},x_t$ which is an A-cosequence in dimension > k, the set $$\Large(\bigcup^{t}_{i=0}Att_R(0:_A(x_1^{n_1},{\ldots},x_i^{n_i})))_{{\geq}k}$$ is independent of the choice of $n_1,{\ldots},n_t$. Let r be the eventual value of $Width_{>k}(0:_AJ^n)$. Then our second result says that for each $t{\leq}r$ the set $\large(\bigcup\limits_{i=0}^{t}Att_R(Tor_i^R(R/I,\;(0:_AJ^n))))_{{\geq}k}$ is stable for large n.

ANC technic can overcome the limited performance of passive noise control at the low frequency range. But it has the local quiet control region in general. In this paper, it is discussed that the global noise control in a circular duct using a ring type smart foam and a porous material. LMS algorithm and RLS algorithm are used to find optimal orders of cancellation path. Experiments are performed to compare the efficiency of RLS algorithm with that of LMS algorithm.

In this study a general Galerkin FE formulation of the incompressible Reynolds equation is derived for lubrication analyses of noncontacting mechanical face seals. Then, the formulation is applied to analyze the flexibly mounted stator-type reactor coolant pump seals of local nuclear power plants, which have deep straight grooves or plane coning on their primary seal ring faces. Their various lubrication performances have been predicted. Results show that the analyzed deep straight groove seal should have a net coning of less than $0.6\;{\mu}m$ to satisfy the leakage limit. And for the same amount of equilibrium opening force the plane coning seal requires to have a 3 times higher dimensionless coning than the deep straight groove seal.

식물유, 어유 및 축산 폐기물을 포함한 동식물성 기름은 어느 연료든지 기관의 연료로서 사용 가능하지만, 이들 연료는 점도가 높고, 저휘발성이어서 착화지연기간동안에 가연성혼합기 생성이 어려워 저 NOx이며, 정숙한 운전이 사능할 뿐 아니라 경유정도의 열소비율 및 배기 매연농도로 디젤기관의 대체 연료로서의 충분한 가능성이 있는 연료임을 확인하였다. 그러나, 고점도에 의한 분무 특성의 악화에 기인한 분무입자의 증대로 미연소분에 의한 carbon deposit 및 piston ring stick 등이 문제점으로 지적되었다. 그러나, 이같은 문제점의 해결책으로 경질유와의 혼합, 에스테르 변환 및 연료의 가열등 여러 해결책을 제시하였고, 배기가스분석결과도 양호함을 확인하였다. 이같은 biomass 연료 일종인 식물유가 아무런 변화없이 이용되기 위해서는 고과급화, 단열 및 연소실의 적절한 설계가 필요할 것으로 생각된다. 따라서, 현재의 실황을 생각한다면 기존기관을 특별하게 개조함이 없이 사용을 전제로 할 때 식물유의 이용은 local 에너지로서, 생산, 전환 또는 이용기술의 개발과 동시에 화석에너지의 보충적인 에너지로 고려하는 것이 유효할 것으로 생각된다.

Suppose that $\hat{A}$ has no embedded primes. If A is not Gorenstein, then ${\mu}_i(m,A){\geq}2$ for all i ${\geq}$ dimA.
