A Study on the Construction of Reliability Centered Maintenance System for Korean Tilting Train (한국형 틸팅열차의 신뢰성기반 유지보수 체계 구축에 관한 연구)

  • 본 논문에서는 한국형 틸팅열차의 유지보수 활동을 위해 신뢰성기반유지보수체계를 제안하였다. 열차시스템을 3단계의 교체 부품 단위로 분류하고, 각 단위에 대해 기능블록도를 작성한 후 고장모드 영향 분석을 실시하였다. 각 단위의 심각도를 결정한 후 유지보수 정책을 제안하였으며, 틸팅열차를 위한 유지보수 기준을 정하고, 실제 사례를 제시하였다. 제안된 신뢰성기반유지보수체계는 기존 유지보수 체계와도 호환성을 갖고 있으며, 안전성 향상과 유지보수 활동 효율화에 기여할 수 있다.In this paper, a reliability centered maintenance (RCM) system is proposed to perform maintenance action for Korean Tilting Train. The train system was divided into line replaceable units up to three steps. Functional block diagrams were drawn and failure mode effect analysis for the units was carried out. The criticality of each unit was determined and a maintenance policy was proposed. Maintenance and repair criteria for the tilting train were determined and an example was presented. The proposed RCM system is compatible with the previous maintenance system and contributes to improvement of safety and efficiency of maintenance action.

  • This article deals with a case study on evaluating RAM(Reliability, Availability and Maintainability) performance of the door systems. The RAM performance is analysed based on the field data. The definition and category of failures of the door systems are presented and reliability for each categories is predicted with field data. MTTR(Mean Time To Repair) is estimated through the replacement time of line replaceable units(LRU). The availability is predicted based on the estimated reliability and maintainability.

  • This paper presents microprocessor-based Digital Position Detection Unit using the inductive radio line and the antennas in train signaling system. This comprises the Fail-Safe system due to the dual controlled system to drive with safe-side even in events of faults, and designs the FSC(failure safe comparator). And the method of Markov Modeling is described for the reliability evaluation of system.

  • Recently, the battery charging technology and reducing technology of harmonics on AC input line are rising importantly according to increasing electrical facilities that it has been replaced battery with emergency power. In this study, I proposed that an auto-charging circuit of battery has low cost with simple-construction circuit, relative, harmonics reduction with diode tap-change method, high reliability of system for using characteristics of thyristor switching. In case of this circuit, convenience and reliability of maintenance of battery power units were more improved. 1 think that it is resulted in effect of prevention to shortening of battery life from over-charging and over-discharging and decrease of harmonics obstacle on AC input line.

Edge Line Information based Underwater Landmark for UUV

  • This paper addresses an underwater landmark for updating UUV positioning information. A method is proposed in which the landmark's cubic shape and edge are recognized. The reliability, installation load, and management of landmark design were taken into consideration in order to assess practical applications of the landmark. Landmark recognition was based on topological features. The straight line recognition confirmed the landmark's location and enabled an UUV to accurately estimated its underwater position with respect to the landmark. An efficient recognition method is proposed, which provides real-time processing with limited UUV computing power. An underwater experiment was conducted in order to evaluate the proposed method's reliability and accuracy.

  • Nowadays as the power systems have been more complicated and have grown to ultra high voltage, it requires a accurate and high speed relaying scheme to improve the reliability and stability of power systems for a harmonious power supplying. For this purpose voltage and current have to be measured at the location of the protective device and the short circuit impedance must be determined. This paper presents the application methods and some results of digital distance relaying scheme which is based upon the theouy of real-time symmetrical components. Usually the symmetrical component have been used to solve the transient systems as well as the steady state systems under unbalanced systems. But, real-time symmetrical component frequently have not been applied to on-line control region of the large power system. We have tried to apply this method to deal with the various type of faults on artificial transmission line. And experimental results demonstrate the validity of the proposed techniques. Therefore, this study is expected that it is contributed to improve the reliability of power supplying, searching for the fault location rapidly and exactly in power system.

  • In the case of construction equipment, internal wiring has a very complicated structure such as an electrical wiring and hydraulic equipments. Because of these complex wiring, a lot of time is spent on maintenance and equipment manufacturing. In this paper, we design and implementation of the high-reliability PLC(Power Line Communication) -CAN(Controller Area Network) communication module to reduce electrical wiring of the construction equipment.

  • It is required to develop a rational transmission tariff structure to ensure the fair participation of the player in the market where transmission sector remains as a monopoly after the electricity industry restructuring. The objective of this study is to suggest an improved transmission rate system which classifies the line capacity into line usage and reliability capacity based on their purpose of use and reasonably allocates the costs incurred by each of them to users.

  • Recently, the KEPCO is constructing the PQMS(Power Quality Monitoring System) each of the distribution line and will establish the voltage sag standard based on the long time measurement data of PQMS. The voltage sag prospect is difficult for the power system manager, however, the voltage sag forecasted is very important because the damage effect of the voltage sag is very broad. This paper describes the prospect formula of the voltage sag magnitude in the PCC(Point Common Coupling) by the starting current when the high capacity equipment is connected with the distribution line. To achieve this, this paper has proposed the sag prospect formula revision of KEPCO for the reliability improvement and the proposed formula has been applied the voltage sag real case to inspect the calculation procedure and reliability.

  • Korea Railroad Research Institute(KRRI) has developed the rubber-tired AGT system from 1999 to 2005. The rubber-tired AGT system is now on test for its performance and function at the test line in Gyeong-San. This paper is concerned with the recent development of the AGT system and its reliability evaluation technology which are now being applied in test line. Also, we made the reliable program to assure required the RAMS((reliability, availability, maintainability & safety) of the AGT system.
