This research paper delved into the availability and utilization of library portal services for research in university libraries in Nigeria. Two research questions and two null hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. A structured questionnaire was used for data collection. The study was carried out in Nnamdi Azikiwe Library, University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) and Felix Aghagbo Nwako Library, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Library (UNIZIK), Awka. A total of 70 professionals (librarians and system analysts) in these libraries supplied data for the study. Data collected was analyzed using mean and standard deviation. These were used to answer the research questions while the null hypotheses were tested using t-test statistic at 0.05 level of significance and 68 degree of freedom. Major findings showed that portal services available in the library showed that the areas of availability of library portal services in Nnamdi Azikiwe Library, U.N.N. includes Agriculture, Health Sciences, Engineering, Environmental Sciences and information about institution, Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Natural Sciences. In Festus Aghagbo Nwako Library, Awka, the areas of Portal Library Services include Career Development, Federal Government Programs, Environmental Sciences, Biological Sciences, Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Engineering, and Health Sciences. Findings on extent of utilization of portal services available in the libraries indicated that portal services are utilized to a low extent in the university libraries. Furthermore, librarians did not significantly differ in their opinions on the availability of library portal services and on the extent of utilization of library portal services in the libraries under study. It is therefore recommended that provisions should be made by the universities and library management to provide and update required portal services in addition to creating enabling environment for enhanced access and utilization of these services. The governments must make an effort to provide funds for policy implementation, necessary technology training for librarians and users, and develop general information infrastructure.

이 연구는 디지털도서관의 통합포털에서 제공되는 서비스의 모형을 개발하는 목적으로 수행하였다. 모형개발을 위해 먼저 도서관 포털에 대한 이론적인 접근을 시도하였다. 그런 다음 5 가지의 주요 사례를 선정하여 포털의 주요한 특성을 구분하고, 도서관 포털이 갖추어야할 기본요건을 정의하였다. 마지막으로 현재 운영을 준비하고 있는 국립디지털도서관을 기반으로 국내 환경에 적합한 포털 서비스의 모형을 정의하고, 기본이 되는 검색과 참여 서비스의 구성요소를 제안하게 된다.

정보기술과 정보환경의 변화에 따라 인터넷 상에서 필요한 정보를 종합적으로 제공하는 포털서비스가 점점 일상화, 대중화 되어가고 있는 현실에서 정보의 제공과 유통을 담당하는 도서관이 포털서비스를 제공하는 것은 지극히 당연한 일이다. 이에 본 연구는 도서관 포털서비스의 이해를 높이기 위하여 국가디지털도서관인 디브러리 포털서비스를 메인포털, 지역정보, 정책정보, 다문화정보, 장애인정보, 디브러리 블로그로 나누어 그 구성과 콘텐츠를 조사 분석하였다. 그 결과 디브러리 포털서비스를 더욱 확산시키고 활성화하기 위해서 제공되는 디브러리 포털서비스의 최신성, 정확성, 유용성과 이용용이성, 홍보와 진흥 등이 강조되었다.

인터넷 항해의 관문으로 검색포털의 의존도가 더욱 높아지고 있으며, 이러한 현상은 학술연구정보 시장에서도 두드러지게 나타나고 있다. 공공지식정보의 대국민 접점으로 민간검색포털을 이용하는 시도가 지속적으로 나타나고 있으며, 그에 따라 많은 지식정보 생산 유통기관이 검색포털과 개방적 협력관계를 유지하고 있다. 이러한 시점에서 도서관 서비스의 검색포털 연계 서비스도 긍정적으로 검토해 볼 필요가 있으며, 특히 아직까지 대학의 사적 시설로 인식되고 있는 대학도서관 서비스의 연계방안을 모색하여, 지역사회와 연계된 공공시설로 활성화시킬 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 그러한 관점에서 검색포털과 대학도서관 소장목록의 연계방안을 모색한다. 이미 활성화되어 있는 해외 사례와 국내 검색포털 서비스의 현황을 종합적으로 분석하여 국내 상황에 적합한 검색포털과 대학 도서관 소장목록의 연계방안을 마련한다.

정보기술과 인터넷의 발전은 정보의 대량생산과 함께 정보검색의 대중화를 가져왔으며, 검색포털사이트의 성장은 정보이용자들에게 정보를 획득할 수 있는 유일한 정보원으로서의 도서관에 대한 인식의 변화를 가져 왔다. 이용자들은 검색포털사이트를 보다 편리하고 다양한 정보를 획득할 수 있는 효과적인 정보원으로 각인하고 선호하게 되었다. 이러한 사회환경의 변화 속에서 도서관과 사서는 이용자의 정보요구에 보다 적극적이고 현실성 있는 정보서비스를 제공함으로써 그 사회적 역할과 위상을 정립하고 진일보할 수 있는 도전과 기회로 삼아야 할 것이다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 도서관, 특히 공공도서관의 적극적인 정보서비스 방안으로서 정보검색대행서비스를 제안하고, 이러한 서비스의 가능성과 기대효과를 정보이용자에 대한 직접 설문을 통하여 조사하였다. 특히 대부분의 이용자들이 친숙하고 편리하게 이용할 수 있는 전화와 PDA등을 활용한 정보서비스에 대한 가능성 및 방법론에 대하여 제안하고자 한다.

본 연구는 검색 포털에서 제공되는 학술정보의 유형과 현황에 대하여 고찰하였다. 국내외에서 전문지식 검색 서비스를 제공하는 대표적인 포털 사이트인 네이버, 엠파스, Google Scholar를 대상으로 제공되는 정보자원의 종류와 검색방식 및 인터페이스에 대하여 분석하였다. 네이버의 전문지식 검색은 경매 사이트와 같은 C2C 형식으로 연구보고서, 논문, 특허정보 등을 이용자에게 판매하는 방식으로 구성되었으며, 엠파스의 과학기술 검색은 과학기술 전문 분야의 국내외 학술잡지, 연구보고서 및 회의자료를 무료로 지원하는 서비스이다. Google Scholar의 경우는 "Library Link"와 "Library Project"등을 통하여 이미 미국 내 주요 도서관들과 연계, 협력하는 프로그램들을 개발하고 있다는 점이 주목할 만한 부분이다. 국내의 검색 포털 사이트에서 Google Scholar과 같은 도서관 프로젝트를 실시할 경우, 도서관의 대응방안으로 양질의 정보를 바탕으로 하는 개인별 맞춤정보 서비스나 이용자의 정보이용의 편리성을 주는 도구들의 개발, 정보자원에 대한 접근성 향상, 도서관 간 협력을 통한 정보자원의 디지털화 작업과 공동이용 등을 제시하였다.

The study aimed to assess the state of electronic security for the website of the Deanship of Library Affairs at Northern Border University, as one of the university's electronic portals, which provides distinguished knowledge services to faculty members, through the Saudi Digital Library, and the integrated automated system for libraries (Symphony) with the definition of cyber security of the university, and the most important threats The study sought to analyze the opinions of a wide sample of faculty members, towards evaluating the state of electronic security for the Deanship of Library Affairs portal, through the use of both the analytical method, as well as the survey, using the questionnaire tool, and the study sample consisted of 95 A faculty member of all academic categories and degrees, and university faculties, and the study concluded that it is necessary to work to overcome the relative slowness of the university's Internet, with the faculty members notifying the information security services through e-mail and SMS service, with the continuous updating of operating systems, Apply and use the latest anti-spyware, hacking, and antivirus software at the university, while conducting extensive research studies towards information security services, and contracting It aims to introduce information security risks, and ways to combat and overcome them, and spread the culture of information security among faculty members.

이 연구의 목적은 도서관이 장애인 정보포털을 구축하는 데 필요한 기본적 구성요소를 파악하고, 개발 방향을 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위해 우리나라 장애인 관련 기관, 단체 104개의 웹사이트 및 국내외 장애인 정보포털 다섯개의 제공 정보를 분석하여, 장애인 정보포털 구축 시 고려할 요소를 추출 및 제안하고자 하였다. 분석 대상은 우리나라 보건복지부의 '복지로' 포털, 국립중앙도서관 디브러리의 '장애인 포털', 미국 NIDRR의 NARIC 포털, 남아프리카공화국의 National Accessibility Portal, 인도의 National Interactive Portal을 포함하였고, 이들의 목표 이용자, 주요 서비스와 자원, 주요 연계 서비스 등 특성을 살펴보았고, 도서관의 장애인 정보포털 구축 시 다음과 같은 요소가 고려되어야 할 것을 제안하였다. (1) 장애인 및 비장애인 잠재적 이용자층 고려, (2) 장애인 관심 주제 정보 제공, (3) 고품질 외부정보원 정보의 확보와 제공, (4) 장애인 이용자의 커뮤니케이션 경로 역할, (5) 웹접근성기준 반영한 인터페이스 설계.

본 연구에서는 SOA와 웹서비스의 개념을 살펴보았고, SOA를 구현하는 웹서비스의 주요 프로토콜인 SOAP, REST, SRW/U, OAI-PMH에 대한 기술을 분석하였으며, 국내외 도서관에서 SOAP과 REST 기반 웹서비스 구축사례를 각각 제시하였다. 또한 국내외 도서관에서 Web 2.0 기술을 활용한 Library 2.0 적용사례와 SOA 기반 웹서비스 프로토콜의 Library 2.0 적용방법을 제시하였다. 마지막으로 REST 기반 Open API를 이용하여 도서관 OPAC, 온라인서점, 웹 포털, 종합목록 등을 결합한 메타검색 시스템의 구축과 활용을 통한 Library 2.0 적용방안을 제안하였다.

이 연구에서는 국회도서관 이용자인 입법관련 종사자와 일반 이용자를 대상으로 국회도서관의 공공기관 및 정부정보 서비스에 대한 설문조사를 바탕으로, 이용행태 및 만족도에 대해 분석하였다. 분석결과 공공기관 및 정부정보의 이용 및 필요성은 입법관련 종사자가 일반 이용자에 비해 더 많은 것으로 나타났다. 응답자들은 전체적으로 국회도서관의 공공기관 및 정부정보 서비스를 개선할 필요가 있으며, 공공기관 및 정부정보를 통합하여 검색 제공할 포털사이트에 대한 필요성 역시 비교적 높게 인식하고 있는 것으로 조사되었다.
