  • With the increasing popularity of mobile commerce, restaurant service has become one of the leading service categories. Thus, this study attempted to understand the shopping behavior of restaurant mobile consumers by focusing on their shopping orientations. Specifically, this study investigated the structural relationships among shopping orientations, perceived value, concentration, and purchase intention in restaurant mobile commerce. Data analysis employing a structural equation approach was carried out for this study. Results revealed that, first, a consumer's shopping orientations was found to have a positive influence on perceived value, with time/convenience orientation possessing a stronger influence on perceived value than other factors (economic and hedonic). Second, a consumer's perceived value was found to affect concentration and purchase intention. Third, a consumer's concentration also appeared to influence purchase intention.

  • A computational investigation of the effect of the electromagnetic force(or Lorentz force) on the flow behavior around a circular cylinder, a typical model of bluff bodies, is conducted. Two-dimensional unsteady flow computation for $Re=10^2$ is carried out using a numerical method of finite difference approximation in a curvilinear body-fitted coordinate system by solving the momentum equations including the Lorentz force as a body force. The effect of the spatial variations of the Lorentz forcing region and forcing direction along the cylinder circumference is investigated. The numerical results show that the Lorentz force can effectively suppress the flow separation and oscillation of the lift force of the circular cylinder cross-flow, leading to the reduction of the drag.

  • Cinnamate group is well-known for the dimerization reaction by ultra-violet irradiation and cinnamate polymers are studied for photo-alignment materials. The cinnamate groups of flexible polymer are found to produce LC alignment parallel to polarization direction of ultra-violet light, which is contrary to the LC orientation on conventional cinnamate polymers. The un-reacted cinnamate groups in the flexible polymer are also found to participate in cycloadducts formation by additional thermal reaction that preserves the orientation of cycloadducts, leading to the enhancement of thermal stability of LC alignment.

  • The side chain liquid crystal triblock copolymers (TBCs), which underwent phase transitions below their decomposition temperature, were prepared by copolymerization of poly(n-butyl acrylate) and a comonomer containing the mesogenic azobenzene group. The physical properties of TBCs in the distinctive transition temperature ranges were investigated in terms of the liquid crystal (LC) content in the copolymers. The phase transition temperatures traced optically, thermally and rheologically were well coincided one another and clearly exhibited the phase transition of smectic-nematic-isotropic with increasing temperature. In the smectic phase, increasing temperature made the liquid crystal system more elastic, but viscosity (${\eta}'$) remained almost constant. In the nematic phase, increasing temperature abruptly decreased ${\eta}'$ and G', ultimately leading to isotropic phase. Both smectic and nematic phases exhibited Bingham viscosity behavior but the former gave much greater yield stress at the same LC content.

  • Comprehensive calculations of the Rh decoration effect on zigzag CNTs with n ranging from 7 to 12 were conducted in this work to understand the effect of Rh doping on geometric structures and electronic behaviors upon metallic and semiconducting CNTs. The obtained results indicated that Rh dopant not only contributes to the deformation of C-C bonds on the sidewall of CNTs, but also transforms the electron distribution of related complexes, thereby leading to a remarkable increase of the conductivity of pure CNTs given the emerged novel state within the energy gap for metallic CNTs and the narrowed energy gap for semiconducting CNTs. Our calculations will be meaningful for exploiting novel CNT-based materials with better sensitivity to electrons and higher electrical conductivity compared with pure CNTs.

  • This study proposed an expanded technology acceptance model (TAM) incorporating perceived fee (PFE) and perceived enjoyment into the original TAM We examined that the extended TAM provides supplementary information about behavior intentions (BI) toward mobile data services (MDS). This study also investigated some significant differences in the relative influence of the determinants of BI toward MDS depending on experience. The extended TAM was empirically evaluated by using survey data collected from 149 inexperienced users and 393 experienced users. The findings indicated that PFE is the strongest determinant of BI toward MDS, and the antecedents leading to users' BI vary over time. The results may provide further insights into MDS practitioners and marketing managers.

  • This study attempts to perform the statistical test for the causality between the Korean and the U.S. business conditions in association with the lead-lag relationship between the domestic stock price and the business condition. Their causal relationships are clearly identified after the outbreak of the IMF financial crisis. The vector autoregression for the corresponding period appears to reflect the strong interrelationships between the market variables and the dependency of the domestic business conditions on the U.S. market. The estimation results validate the leading effect of the stock price and the U.S. business behavior.

  • It is important to evaluate the fracture initiation behaviors of steel structure. It has been well known that the ductile cracking of steel would be accelerated by triaxial stress state. Recently, the characteristics of critical crack initiation of steels are quantitatively estimated using the two-parameters, that is, equivalent plastic strain and stress triaxiality, criterion. This study is paid to the fundamental clarification of the effect of notch radius, which can elevate plastic constraint due to heterogeneous plastic straining on critical condition to initiate ductile crack using two-parameters. Hense, the crack initiation testing were conducted under static loading using round bar specimens with circumferential notch. To evaluate the stress/strain state in the specimens was used thermal elastic-plastic FE-analysis. The result showed that equivalent plastic strain to initiate ductile crack expressed as a function of stress triaxiality obtained from the homogeneous specimens with circumferential notched under static loading. And it was evaluated that by using this two-parameters criterion, the critical crack initiation of homogeneous specimens under static loading.

  • Recently, the development of construction materials is rapidly advancing. Especially, the rate of development of cement based construction materials is much quicker than steel or composite materials. In order to optimize the ductility and strength of cement based materials, Micro-mechanics based fiber concrete called Engineered Cement Composite (ECC) is developed and studied extensively by many researchers in the field. Due to ECC's remarkable flexural strain and strength capacities, many leading nation (i.e., US, Japan, and European countries) are currently using ECC in actual constructions. In this study, ECC with internationally competitive material capacities is manufactured using domestic materials. Then, unreinforced concrete beams are repaired using ECC with $10\%,\;20\%,\;30\%$ of concrete specimen height Using 4 point bending test, the flexural strength of repaired flexural members are determined. The results show that ECC manufactured with domestic materials can be effectively used for repairing materials.

  • We consider a multi-server queueing system without buffer and with two types of customers as a model of operation of a mobile network cell. Customers arrive at the system in the marked Markovian arrival flow. The service times of customers are exponentially distributed with parameters depending on the type of customer. A part of the available servers is reserved exclusively for service of first type customers. Customers who do not receive service upon arrival, can make repeated attempts. The system operation is influenced by random factors, leading to a change of the system parameters, including the total number of servers and the number of reserved servers. The behavior of the system is described by the multi-dimensional Markov chain. The generator of this Markov chain is constructed and the ergodicity condition is derived. Formulas for computation of the main performance measures of the system based on the stationary distribution of the Markov chain are derived. Numerical examples are presented.
