Pneumatic cushioning cylinders are commonly employed for vibration and shock control. A mathematical simulation model of a double acting pneumatic cushioning cylinder designed to absorb shock loads is presented which is based on the following assumptions; ideal equation of state isentropic flow through a port conservation of mass polytropic thermodynamics single degree of freedom piston dynamics and energy equivalent linear damping. These differential equation can be solved through numerical integration using the fourth order Runge-Kutta method. An experimental study was conducted to validate the results obtained by the numerical integra-tion technique. Simulated results show good agreement with experimental data. The computer simulation model presented here has been extremely useful not only in understanding the has been extremely useful not only in understanding the basic cushioning but also in evaluating different designs.
Microforming can be a good application for bulk metallic glasses. It is important to simulate the deformation behaviour of the bulk metallic glasses in a supercooled liquid region for manufacturing micromachine parts. For these purposes, a correct constitutive model which can reproduce viscosity results is essential for good predicting capability. In this paper, we studied deformation behaviour of the bulk metallic glasses using the finite element method in conjunction with the fictive stress constitutive model which can describe non-Newtonian as well as Newtonian behaviour. A combination of kinetic equation which describes the mechanical response of the bulk metallic glasses at a given temperature and evolution equations fur internal variables provide the constitutive equation of the fictive stress model. The internal variables are associated with fictive stress and relation time. The model has a modular structure and can be adjusted to describe a particular type of microforming process. Implementation of the model into the MARC software has shown its versatility and good predictive capability.
In order to theoretically analyze the creep behavior of high Cr steel at $600^{\circ}C$, a unified elasto-viscoplastic constitutive model based on the consideration of dislocation density is proposed. A combination of a kinetic equation describing the mechanical response of a material at a given microstructure in terms of dislocation glide and evolution equations for internal variables characterizing the microstructure provides the constitutive equations of the model. Microstructural features of the material such as the grain size and spacing between second phase particles are directly implemented in the constitutive equations. The internal variables are associated with the total dislocation density in a simple model. The model has a modular structure and can be adjusted to describe a creep behavior using the material parameters obtained from uniaxial tensile tests.

The non-linear k-.epsilon. model developed by Speziale was employed for the prediction of developing turbulent flow in a square duct. The numerical procedure incorporated a finite volume method using a strong conservation form of the partially-parabolized Navier-Stokes equation. Results of the calculation were compared with available experimental data on the mean velocity field and turbulent kinetic energy, and was found to be in favorable agreement.

A reduced description of the dynamics of carriers in excited semiconductors is presented. Fristly, a time-convolutionless equation of motion for the reduced density operator is derved from the microscopic Liouville wquation operator method. Secondly, the quantum kinetic equations for intercting electron-hole parirs near band-edge in semiconductors under an extermal optical field are obtained from the equation of motion for the reduced density operator. The non-Markovian optical gain of a driven semiconductor is derived including the many-body effects. plasma screening and excitinic effects are taken into account using as effective Hamiltonian in the time-dependent Hartree-Fock approximation. it is shown that the line shape of optical-gain spectra gain is enhanced by the exicitonic effects caused by the attrative electron-hole Coulomb interaction and the interference effects (renormalized memory effects) between the extermal driving filed and the intermal driving Filed and the stochastic reservoir of the system.
In this study, dynamic analysis of Linear DC motor has been performed. Dynamic characteristic is carried out from coupling the electrical circuit equation and mechanical kinetic equation. Trust constant and circuit parameters are obtained by FE analysis and static characteristic experiment. From the previous results, dynamic analysis is performed and the appropriateness of analysed result is verified by comparing with experimental result.

This paper presents the dynamic characteristics Linear DC Motor(LDM) using 3 Dimensional Equivalent Magnetic Circuit Network Method(3-D EMCN) by voltage driven. The movement of mover substitutes for the movement of magnetization in permanent magnet expressed by Fourier series. The Dynamic characteristics are carried out from coupling the electrical circuit equation and mechanical kinetic equation.

Research on space development and satellites is being actively pursued. An interesting field is the study of reliable low-cost space launch vehicles. Since chemical fuel-based launching systems are expensive and take a lot of time and cost to maintain, the EML system, which is an electromagnetic force launching apparatus, is attracting attention. The EML system converts electrical energy stored in a capacitor into magnetic energy, and converts magnetic energy into mechanical kinetic energy, thereby accelerating the projectile. Although studies are actively conducted in the field, it is difficult to solve the equation because the impedance and speedance change with time and the nonlinearity is strong. Many researchers have solved this equation in a variety of methods. In this paper, the velocity analysis of the projectile was carried out by FEM (finite element method) using the commercial electromagnetic analysis program MAXWELL.
A metallurgical model for bainite transformation kinetics in the coarse-grained heat affected zone(CGHAZ) on the basis of an Avrami-type equation was studied. Isothermal transformation tests were carried out to obtain the empirical equations for incubation time and Avrami kinetic constants for C-Mn-Mo-Ni steel. The effect of prior austenite grain size(PAGS) on the reaction rate of bainite was also investigated. Compared with experimental transformation behavior of bainite, the predicted behavior was in good agreement. It was also found that a smaller grain size retard the bainite reaction rate, contrary to the classical grain size effect and this is considered to be caused by constraint of grain size to bainite growth.
The kinetics of the thermolysin-catalyzed synthesis of N-(benzyloxycarbonyl)-L-phenylalanyl-L-leucine ethyl ester (Z-Phe-LeuOEt) from N-(benzyloxycarbonyl)-L-phyenylalanine (Z-Phe) and L-leucine ethyl ester (LeuOEt) in an ethyl acetate saturated aqueous system in a batch operation were studied. The kinetics for the synthesis of Z-Phe-LeuOEt were expressed using a rate equation for the rapid equilibrium random bireactant mechanism. The four kinetic constants involved in the rate equation were determined numerically by the quasi-Newton method so as to fit the calculated results with the experimental data. Within the pH and temperature range examined, the $K_{cat}$ value for the synthesis of Z-Phe-LeuOEt reached a maximum at pH 7.0 and $45^{\circ}C$, whereas the affinity between Z-Phe and thermolysin reached a maximum at pH 6.0 adn $40^{\circ}C$. The inhibitory effect of Z-Phe on the condensation reaction decreased as the pH and temperature decreased. In contrast, they affinity between LeuOEt and thermolysin remained unchanged within the pH and temperature range examined. Therefore, it was concluded that the protonation state of the carboxyl groups. of Z-Phe was more imprtant than that of the amono groups of LeuOEt for the synthesis of Z-Phe-LeuOEt in the present solvent system. The equilibrium yield at pH 6.0 and $30^{\circ}C$ was 8% higher than that at pH 7.0 and $40^{\circ}C$, although the rate was much slower. This result suggested that the affinity between the enzyme and the substrate rather than the overall rate was a more important factor affecting the equilibrium yield, when the peptide synthesis was carried out in a product-precipitation system.
