The results of this study were as follows; The level of care givers' job stress which they perceived was 2.68 points in a scale of 5 points, stress coping strategies was 2.39 points in a scale of 4 points, and the degree of burnout was 2.27 points in a scale of 5 points. There was a positive correlation between the care givers' job stress and burnout. There was a negative correlation between the job stress and stress coping strategies. There was a positive correlation between the stress coping strategies and burnout. And the stress coping strategies showed mediating effects between the care givers' job stress and burnout. Accordingly, we found that stress coping strategies had an mediating effect on care givers' burnout and various coping strategies were related to the burnout.

The purpose of this study is to identify the mediating effect of social support in the relationship between job stress and stress coping strategies among male workers on a three-shift system. The subjects of the study were 146 male workers working in manufacturing companies with more than 500 employees located in C City, Chungbuk Province, who understood the purpose of the study and agreed to participate. The collected data were analyzed using frequency and percentage, descriptive statistics, Pearson Correlation Coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. Job stress had a significant effect on the mediating variable, social support (β=.34, p<.001), and job stress had a significant effect on the dependent variable, stress coping strategies (β=.41, p<.001). When examining the effect of social support on stress coping strategies (β=.35, p<.001), social support was found to be a significant predictor of stress coping strategies. Therefore, social support plays a mediating role in the relationship between job stress and stress coping strategies among male workers on a three-shift system, and job stress and social support explained 27.4% of the variance in stress coping strategies. Thus, it is necessary to establish a psychological support system that can reduce job stress through active stress coping measures that consider the social support of male workers on a three-shift system.
This study examined the effects of social comparison orientation and stress coping styles on job-seeking stress experienced by university students. The participants of this study were 324 junior and senior students (151 males and 173 females) from six universities located in Seoul who were preparing for employment. They were asked to respond to a written questionnaire to measure research variables for the Job-Seeking Stress Scale, the Social Comparison Orientation Scale, and the Ways of Coping Checklist. The data were analyzed by means of descriptive statistics and a hierarchical multiple regression. The major findings of this study were as follows. First, social comparison orientation had a positive effect on job-seeking stress of university students, revealing that students with a high level of social comparison orientation were more likely to experience job-seeking stress. Second, both emotion-alleviation coping style and wishful thinking coping style increased level of job-seeking stress. In addition, problem-focused coping style had a negative influence on job-seeking stress, whereas social support seeking coping style had no significant effect on it. The results suggested that it would be possible to reduce job-seeking stress of university students by changing either social comparison or stress coping style.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the degree of Job stress and Coping of the nurses in ICU and Cancer ward, and to compare the Job stress and Coping between two groups, and finally to get the basic information about the adequate method to promote Coping about Job stress of the nurses in ICU and Cancer ward. Method: The subjects of this study were 131; 62 nurses in ICU and 69 nurses in Cancer ward. Data were collected from 27th August to 14th September in 2007. The instruments for this study were Job stress scale(55 items) developed by Kim(1989), and Coping scale(32 items) developed by Lazarus and Folkman(1984) and revised by Han and Oh(1990). For the data analysis, SPSS PC/win 12.0 program was utilized for descriptive statistics, $X^2$-test, t-test, Pearson correlation. Result: The results of this study were the followings; The mean score of Job stress(range 1-5) was 2.93 in ICU nurse and 2.58 in Cancer ward nurse. There was a significant difference (t=4.453, p<.01)between them. There were significant differences in subscale of Job stress between the two groups, such as Nursing job(t=3.717, p<.01), Job circumstances(t=4.558, p<.01), Personal relations(t=3.425, p<.01), Hospital administration and ward management(t=2.94, p<.01). The mean score of Coping(range 1-4) was 2.55 in ICU nurse, and 2.54 in Cancer ward nurse; there was no significant difference. But one subscale of the Coping(Search of social support) showed significant difference(t=-2.865, p<.01). There was no significant correlation between Job stress and Coping of ICU nurse vs Cancer ward nurse except one subscale in cancer ward(correlation between Nursing Job and Coping). Conclusion: The ICU nurse is higher than the Cancer ward nurse in the Job stress score significantly and lower than the Cancer unit nurse in the Coping. Based on the study results, it is needed the program development using the Coping methods in accordance with ward speciality to relieve Job stress.

Further follow-up study on firefighters is necessary to relieve their job stress and increase active coping type.
This study explored effects of social support and stress coping strategies on teachers' job stress in corporate-sponsored child care centers. Participants were 191 child care teachers from 19 corporate-sponsored child care centers. Data was analyzed using Pearson's productive correlation and hierarchical multiple regression tests. Important findings were as follows: First, the overload of task was the dominant factor in causing job stress. Secondly, social support correlated negatively with child care teachers' job stress. Thirdly, child care teachers' problem-focused coping strategy was also found to be related to their job stress.
