A Study on Job Satisqaction of Health Ceuter nurses in Chunbuk Province. (전북지역 보건소 간호사의 직업만족도에 관한 조사연구)

  • The Purpose of this study is to provide the basic data necessary for the high level of nursing service and the efficiency plan of nurse's man power by analyzing job satisfaction level of public health services. The study population included all public health services(118) in health care center within Jeon Buk province. A Survey was conducted to collect data by a self-administered questionnaire from September I to December B, 1990. A Forty item questionnaire was designed to elicit data concerning how nurses feel about the factors of job satisfaction. All the data were analyzed by means of percentage, mean, anova, T-test, Pearsen's correlation coefficient. The Results of this study were summerized as follows. 1. General characteristics of PHN : age: $33.9\%\;20\~29$ years old education level: $52.6\%$ professional nursing college marital status: $75.5\%$ married religion: $50.5\%$ protestant clinical experience: $40.7\%$ no clinical experience public health nursing career: $47.9\%$ low 5years 2. Influencing factor of Job satisfaction desired duration of employment: $65\%$ needed duration, $18.3\%$ lifetime duration motives of employment: $40.8\%$ no special motive of employment desired organ of leave: $19.3\%$ public health clinic 3. Level of job satisfaction with job satisfaction components. The level of job satisfaction showed an average score 3.39 out of 5.0. Job prestige 4.09 was the highest among the components of Job satisfaction and was presented organizational requirement 3.69, Human relationship 3.66, task requirement 3.36, Autonomy 3.10, pay 2.46. 4. Level of job satisfaction with general characteristics. General characteristics(age, educational level, manital status, clinical experience, public health nursing carrier, duties, lincense and qualification) and job satisfaction was no relationship. 5. Level of job satisfaction with Influencing factor. Duration of desired employment (p<0.01) and motives of employment(p<0.001) was presented. 6. Relationship composing factor of job satisfaction and level of job satisfaction 6 components of job satisfaction was related all of job satisfaction. organizational requirement (r=0.93). Autonomy (r=0.93), Human relationship(r=0.92), task requirement (r=0.90), job prestige (r=0.83), pay (r=0.81)

A Study of the Reward and the Job Satisfaction Perceived by Nurses (간호사가 지각하는 보상과 직무만족에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to examine the level of reward's importance and job satisfaction perceived by nurses, understand how nurses' demographics, reward and reward's subcategories affected their job satisfaction. Method: The data were collected at the six general hospitals in five cities, Korea from July 15th to August 26th, 2005. Two questionnaires were used. One was the important level of reward and the other was job satisfaction. The data were analyzed by SPSS/PC ver 12.0. Result: The average scores of reward and job satisfaction were $3.77({\pm}.34)$ and $2.80({\pm}.32)$ of 5.0 that was full mark. In differences of the important level of reward, marital status was the only different characteristics. In differences of job satisfaction, age, education level, working period, and position had differences significantly. Among the job satisfaction and the reward's subcategories, there was the only significant correlation between the job satisfaction and the job contentment reward. And nurses' job contentment reward and position explained 40.5% of their job satisfaction Conclusion: Nurses' job contentment reward and position should be first considered in order to improve their job satisfaction. Since nurses' job contentment reward is the most important factor to improve their job satisfaction, a special strategies that can develop their job contentment reward is needed to nursing managers.

A Study on the Factors Influencing Job Satisfactions of School Foodservice Employees in Busan Area (부산 일부지역 학교 급식 조리원의 직무만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • The purpose of this study was to provide basic information to school foodservice employees so that they can meet their professional responsibilities by understanding the relationship of job burnout, job engagement, job stress and level of job satisfaction and analyze the influence between these factors according to the general characteristics of the employees. The subjects included employees at 426 school foodservices in Busan. The mean job engagement was significantly different in the reason that cooks chose this profession(p<0.05), and readiness to quit(p<0.001). The mean job stress was significantly different in different age groups(p<0.01), cooking certification(p<0.01), reason that cooks chose this profession(p<0.01), and readiness to quit(p<0.05). The mean job stress was significantly different in the reason cooks chose this profession(p<0.01), and readiness to quit(p<0.05). In terms of the level of satisfaction of coworkers, the subfactor of job burnout, 'self-confidence' and 'achievement' had positive influences (p<0.01) and for the level of satisfaction of the work, it had positive influences on 'achievement'(p<0.01) and negative influences on 'exhaustion' (p<0.01). In terms of the level of satisfaction of co-workers and work, the subfactor of job engagement, 'absorption' had positive influences(p<0.01). Among the level of job satisfaction, for the level of satisfaction of pay, the subfactor of job stress, 'unstable job' had negative influences(p<0.01) and 'role conflict' had positive influences(p<0.05). For the level of satisfaction of co-workers, the subfactor of job stress, 'role conflict' had negative influences(p<0.01), and for the level of satisfaction of work, 'inappropriate circumstance' and 'unstable job' had negative influences (p<0.01).

The Influence of Dual-Earner Couples' Job Related Variables on Marital Satisfaction and Quality of Life (맞벌이부부의 직업관련변수가 결혼만족도와 삶의 질에 미치는 영향)

  • This study is to identify the influence of dual-earner couples' job related variables on marital satisfaction and quality of life. For the data set 228 dual-earner couples living in Pusan, Korea were chosen. The data were analyzed using M, SD, t-test, one-way ANOVA, scheffe test, and path analysis. The findings of this study are as follows; First, the level of marital satisfaction and quality of life are higher for husbands than wives. Second, for husbands, the level of marital satisfaction were differed by husbands' housework participation, husbands' support, and job satisfaction. Whereas for wives, the level of marital satisfaction were differed by husbands' house work participation, husbnand's job stressorors, and wives' employment motivation. Third, for husbands, the level of quality of life were differed by husbands' housework participation, husbands' support, job satisfaction, and husbands' job stressors. Whereas for wives, the level of quality of life were differed by income, husbands' support, job satisfaction, working hours, husbands' job stressorors, and wives' employment motivation. Fourth, for husbands, marital satisfaction, job satisfaction, and working hours have significant direct effect on quality of life. Besides, husbands' job stressors, and husbands' and husbands' housework participation, and job satisfaction are indirectly associated with quality of life.

A Study on Psychological Well-Being and Quality of Life of Married Couple (부부의 심리적 복지와 삶의 질에 대한 연구)

  • This study was to investigate casual relation of psychological well-being and quality of life of married couples. For the data set 434 married couples living in Pusan, Korea were chosen. The data were analyzed using M, SD, t-test, Pearson's correlation, multiple regression, and path analysis. The findings of this study are as follows; First, marital satisfaction and the level of quality of life are higher for husbands than wives. Whereas psychological distress is higher for wives than husbands. Second, for husbands, husband's level of education, job satisfaction, husband's housework participation, and job stress have significant effect on marital satisfaction. For wives, wife's level of education, husband's housework participation, and husband's job stress have significant effect on marital satisfaction. Third, for husbands, job satisfaction and job stress have significant effect on psychological distress. For wives, husband's job stress have significant effect on psychological distress. Fourth, for husbands, job stress, marital satisfaction and psychological distress have significant direct effect on quality of life. Besides, husband's age, husband's level of education, job satisfaction, job stress, husband's housework participation, and marital satisfaction are indirectly associated with quality of life. For wives, marital satisfaction and psychological distress have significant direct effect on quality of life. Besides, wife's level of education, husband's job stress, husband's housework participation, and marital satisfaction are indirectly associated with quality of life.

The Impact on the Business Effectiveness of the Educational Satisfaction in Elderly Employment Program: The Mediating Effect of Job Satisfaction (노인일자리 사업의 교육 만족도가 사업효과성에 미치는 영향 : 일자리 만족도의 매개효과)

  • This study examined what effect the educational satisfaction level in the grey job project had on the business effectiveness and verified the effect the participant education satisfaction level had on the project business effectiveness ultimately by influencing the job satisfaction. This study utilized the source data of the senior job project old participant status survey of the Korea senior manpower development center which was conducted in 2013, and the non-proportional stratification sample extracting method was used which considered the project type, regional size, and cities/provinces. Sejong City was excluded from the survey target and the survey targeted 2,005 persons except for non-response or response-irrelevant persons concerning this study question. The collected material was analyzed by using SPSS WIN 21.0 program. The frequency and percentage were calculated to apprehend the general characteristic of the study target. Also, the regression analysis was conducted to examine the effect the educational satisfaction level had on the business effectiveness of the senior job project, and the hierarchical regression analysis was conducted in order to examine the mediated effect of the job satisfaction level in the effect the educational satisfaction level had on the business effectiveness of the senior job project. The main result of this study is as follows. First, among the effects the educational satisfaction level had on the business effectiveness, both interest level of educational contents and the job utilization of education had a significant effect on the psychological effect, and the interest level of the educational contents had a significant level on the physical/social effect, and the job utilization of education had a significant effect on the economic effect. Second, in the effect the educational satisfaction level had on the business effectiveness, the job satisfaction level was confirmed the job satisfaction level had a partial mediated effect in the effect the educational satisfaction level had on the psychological/physical/social effect. The job satisfaction level was confirmed the job satisfaction level had a complete mediated effect in the effect the educational satisfaction level had on the economic effect. Also, The job satisfaction level was confirmed the job satisfaction level had a partial mediated effect in the effect the educational satisfaction level had on the business effectiveness. Consequently, the educational contents according with the demand of job participants will have to be developed and the exclusive manpower must be arranged to conduct the education effectively. Also, making participants feel a pride on the job fully will largely contribute to raising the business effectiveness because the job satisfaction level has a positive effect on the business effectiveness.

A Study on Contemporary Beauticians' Job Satisfaction

  • This study was conducted out of necessity for attempting to identify what degree of satisfaction contemporary beauticians having to accomplish this expanded role of theirs had and what factors had an effect on their job satisfaction. Based on the study results, the following conclusion was drawn: 1) It was found that beauticians‘ level of job satisfaction with its components was in the order of 'vocational pride'(3.66), 'human relations'(3.39), 'autonomy'(3.29), 'required job'(3.13), and 'vocational duty'(3.01). 2) It was found that as to the level of job satisfaction according to religions beauticians with Buddhism had the highest level of job satisfaction with each of its components, followed by 'Others'(3.37), 'Christianity'(3.26), 'Catholicity'(3.25) and 'No Religion'(3.24). 3) It was found that as to the level of job satisfaction according to the future plan beauticians saying 'I will stop working at the same time that I marry'(3.68), 'I will continue working'(3.33), 'I will work for several more years'(3.30) and I will stop working at any time depending on circumstances'(3.29).

The Effect of Police Department Size on Job Satisfaction and Turnover Intention among Police Officers (경찰관서 규모가 직무만족 및 이직의도에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study, I examine whether differences in the levels of job satisfaction and turnover intention exist with regard to the police department size. To accomplish this, a way ANOVA analysis of variance(One-way ANOVA) was conducted. As a result, a significant differences were found in job satisfaction and turnover intention according to the department size and grade. Specifically, first, in the job satisfaction level on the department size, the smaller department size was, the lower job satisfaction level was and the bigger department size was, the higher job satisfaction level was. Second, in the turnover intention level on the department size, the result was not statistically significant. Third, in the job satisfaction level on the department grade, the lower department grade was, the higher job satisfaction level was and the higher department grade was, the lower job satisfaction level was. Fourth, in the turnover intention level on the department grade, the lower department grade was, the lower turnover intention level was and the higher department grade was, the higher turnover intention level was.

The Relationship Between Friendship Level by Hierarchy and Occupation and Job Satisfaction, Organizational Commitment and Job Stress (수직적 계층 및 직종별 프렌드십 수준과 직무만족, 조직몰입, 직무스트레스의 관계)

  • In this study, we investigated the relationship between friendship level within a hospital organization and job satisfaction, organizational commitment and job stress. Focusing on the hierarchy and occupation of a hospital, different from previous introductory studies. As a study tool, structured questionnaire were devised and used. The subjects were nurses, administrators and medical technicians who worked at 17 tertiary hospitals in Seoul and Kyongin area. To analyze the data, we conducted frequency analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, two-way ANOVA and multiple regression analysis.The main results of our study can be summarized as followings:Firstly, seen from the viewpoint of social demographic characteristics, on the whole friendship level with fellows is the highest, and then that with subordinates and that with bosses the lowest. Secondly, the friendship level with bosses, subordinates and fellows had a significant relationship with job satisfaction, organizational commitment and job stress, though there were some differences among them. In case of junior managers, the friendship level with fellows had a significant relationship with job satisfaction and organizational commitment; in case of middle managers, the friendship level with fellows had significant relationship with job satisfaction. We found that the friendship level with the bosses had a deeper relationship with job satisfaction, organizational commitment and job stress as we went down the hierarchy. Thirdly, analyzing the differences between occupation, administrators and medical technicians had relatively higher significant relationship with the friendship level with bosses than nurses in job satisfaction, organizational commitment and job stress. High friendship level with the bosses influenced job satisfaction significantly for the nurse; yet, in case of administrators and medical technicians, the friendship level with bosses influenced all of job satisfaction, organizational commitment and job stress. Based on our study, we recommend facilitating friendly relationship between the bosses and the subordinates in order to enhance job satisfaction, organizational commitment and job related stress reduction.

The Effect of Workers' Human Resource Development and Recognition of Job Performance Level on their Job Satisfaction (근로자의 인적자원개발과 직무수준인지가 직무만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of workers' human resource development and their recognition of human resource on-the-job satisfaction. A sample of 4,727 workers that was selected from Korea Labor Panel Data was analyzed by t-test and multiple regression, and was tested by causal effects among related variables. The major findings were as follows: First, the workers' recognition of their job performance level vs. educational attainment was affected by their annual income, job status, educational attainment, gender, and experiences of human resource development. Second, the workers' job satisfaction was affected by gender, age, educational attainment, health status, job status, annual income, experiences of human resource development, recognition of their job performance level vs. educational attainment, and recognition for their job availability. Third, the factors that had a causal effect on workers' job satisfaction were educational attainment, gender, age, health status, annual income, and experiences of human resource development. Above all, workers' educational attainment had a strong direct effect on job satisfaction, and annual income had a strong indirect effect on it. From these findings, it can be concluded that workers' effort and trial for development and investment of human resource played an important role in increasing job satisfaction.
