A Study on the Job Aptitudity of Fashion Salesperson (패션 판매원의 직무적합성에 관한 연구)

  • The importance of emotional factors like as product aesthetics, branding strategies and service quality is increasing in today's marketplace. At the point of fashion product purchases, emotional factor is mainly related to personal selling. Rasearches related to job aptitudity of fashion salesperson are necessary as their role becoming more serious. This study was designed (1) to determine factors of job aptitudity of fashion salesperson; and (2) to examine relations between job aptitudity of fashion salesperson and other variables: demographics, job statistics, fashion involvement fashion innovativeness, ongoing information searching and job satisfaction. As a result, job aptitudty of fashion salesperson was determined into six dimensions by factor analysis: product knowledge, professionalism, involvement to the present profession, marketing cooperator, customer orientation and self management. Marketing cooperator and product knowledge was relatively !ow compared to other aptitudity factors. This finding suggests that the special education programs including textile/fashion product knowledge and value of field information for fashion salesperson is needed to enhance the integrated fashion marketing. The job aptitudity of salesperson was correlated with fashion involvement, fashion innovativeness, ongoing information searching, and job satisfaction. The job aptitudity-related scales which showed significant relation to job aptitudity in this study could be used as the index to examine the job aptitudity of potential employees of fashion retail company.

Validity and Reliability of a Tool Measuring Long-Term Employment Factors among Dental Hygienists

  • Dental hygienists are important members of any dental clinic. They are recognized as reflecting the dental clinic's image because they spend a lot of time with patients. The longer the dental hygienist is employed, the better the relationship with the patients and the medical service provided. The purpose of the present study was to develop a scale to measure factors of long-term employment among dental hygienists. The basic questions were constructed by analyzing tools used to measure job embeddedness and satisfaction. Forty-one questions were developed that measured organizational fit (13), interpersonal relationships (8), job satisfaction (7), duty satisfaction (6), recognition (4), and self-esteem (3). A questionnaire survey was conducted, and the responses from 297 dental hygienists in dental clinics, after the exclusion of 20 incomplete surveys, were used for the exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses. As revealed by exploratory factor analysis, long-term employment intention was composed of 7 factors consisting of 29 items after the exclusion of 12. The subsequent confirmatory factor analysis revealed 4 factors ("organizational fit," "professional identity," "job connectivity," and "interpersonal relationship") consisting of 16 items, after the exclusion of 13. $Cronbach^{\prime}s\;{\alpha}$ were 0806, 0.836, 0.700, and 0.684 for the four factors. This study is meaningful in that it developed a long-term employment factor measurement tool that can be applied to domestic dental hygienists. Future studies will need to focus more on professional identity and job outcomes. The results of this study and future related ones could be used to improve dental hygienist's continuous service.

Job Crafting by a Community Children's Center Social Worker Impact on the Satisfaction of Children (지역아동센터 생활복지사의 잡 크래프팅이 아동의 만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to find out the effect of job-crafting of social workers at community children's centers on the satisfaction of children. This study used a multi-level analysis model that calculated the child factor (level 1) and the social worker factor (level 2) by utilizing the responses of 31 social workers and 216 children used at 31 community children's centers. The main research results are as follows: First, it was found that 34.3% of the total variation in child satisfaction was due to differences by community children's centers. Second, it was found that the number of hours used per day in the child factor (level 1), and gender, age, and job-crafting in the life worker factor (level 2) affect the satisfaction of children. Based on these results, measures to improve the satisfaction level of children using community children's centers were discussed.

A Study on the Structural Causal Relationship between Job Characteristics, Job Commitment, and Job Satisfaction of Industrial Organization Food Service Workers (산업체 단체급식 종사자의 직무특성과 직업몰입, 직무만족 간의 구조적인 인과관계에 관한 연구)

  • This study conducted a survey on 414 industrial organization food service workers in the Kyungnam area to find out the effect relationship of the job characteristics of organization food service workers and its effects on job commitment and job satisfaction by recognizing the need for job application through the job characteristic model, which was the beginning of the intrinsic motivation theory for the job of organization food service workers. To accomplish the purpose of this study, the method to analyze the survey was undertaken by using the SPSS 23.0 and Amos 21.0 statistic package program via a data coding process for collected data processing. We can confirm from the analysis results that there is a statistically significant causal relationship in all factors, except task identity, which is a sub factor of job characteristic. This result reaffirms the results of previous research by showing that the worker must be allowed to ensure completion of the entire job when performing the job as the job itself is not one part of the processes. Decision-making autonomy must be given in the work process when the worker performs their job in order to raise job satisfaction and furthermore to increase job commitment. The limitation of this study is that there are limits that making generalization as the study was conducted on industrial organization food service workers in the Kyungnam area as extracted samples.

Job Hazard Analyses for Musculoskeletal Disorder Risk Factors in Pressing Operations of Dry-cleaning Establishments

  • Job hazard analyses were conducted to assess exposure to musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) risk factors in seven workers of three dry-cleaning establishments. In accordance with the Washington State Ergonomics Rule, the analyses were performed in two separate steps: (1) observation and checklist approaches were made to identify a "caution zone job" in the seven workers' pressing operations across the three shops; and (2) detailed posture and motion analyses were undertaken to determine a "MSD hazard" in one worker's operation using a video technique. One "caution zone job" was identified and it was the pressing operation job in which five physical risk factors were found in the pressing operations. The detailed analyses confirmed that one "MSD hazard", i.e., awkward posture in shoulders, was prevalent in the pressing operations of the three dry-cleaning facilities. It would be desirable to reduce MSD risk factors including awkward shoulder posture in the dry-cleaning industry.

Causal Relationships of Organizational Work-Family Support with Job Satisfaction, Organizational Commitment, and Turnover Intention

  • The aim of the present study is to investigate the structural relationships of organizational work-family support, job satisfaction, organizational commitment and turnover intention among Korean hotel employees. In order to achieve the study goal, frequency analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis and covariance structure analysis were undertaken using SPSS(18.0) and AMOS(18.0). The result shows that organizational work-family support has a significantly positive effect on job satisfaction and it also positively impacts on organizational commitment. However, it doesn't have any significant effect on turnover intention. This study also suggests that each of job satisfaction and organizational commitment has a significantly negative effect on turnover intention. Through the abovementioned results, we can find out that each of job satisfaction and organizational commitment can completely mediate the relationship between organizational work-family support and turnover intention.

The Effects of empowerment on job satisfaction, organizational commitment and Service Quality (판매원의 임파워먼트가 직무만족과 조직몰입 및 서비스품질에 미치는 영향)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate the impacts of empowerment, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment on service quality. So, this research attempted to test the hypothesized relationships between service quality and its determinants such as job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and customer orientation. To measure these hypotheses, total 200 questionnaires were handed out and 185 were collected. Finally 163 questionnaires were used for the analysis, while 22 were found to be invalid. The frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, and multiple regression were conducted after coding and cleaning by SPSS 18.0 The result of this study are as follow. As a result of multiple regression, it shows that empowerment have an effect on job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and service quality. And it shows that job satisfaction and organizational commitment have an effect on service quality.

Job Stress and Neuropeptide Response Contributing to Food Intake Regulation

  • The purpose of the present study is to investigate the correlations between food intake behavior and job stress level and neuropeptide hormone concentrations. Job strain and food intake behavior were first identified using a self-reported questionnaire, concentrations of neuropeptide hormones (adiponectin, brain derived neurotrophic factor [BDNF], leptin, and ghrelin) were determined, and the correlations were analyzed. In the results, job strain showed significant correlations with adiponectin (odds ratio [OR], 1.220; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.001~1.498; p < 0.05) and BDNF (OR, 0.793; 95% CI, 0.646~0.974; p < 0.05), and ghrelin exhibited a significant correlation with food intake score (OR, 0.911; 95% CI, 0.842~0.985, p < 0.05). These results suggest that job stress affects food intake regulation by altering the physiological concentrations of neuropeptide hormones as well as emotional status.

The Influence of Self-concept on Kindergarten Teachers' Job Satisfaction (유치원 교사의 직무 만족도에 영향을 미치는 자아 개념 요인에 관한 연구)

  • This study explored the relationship between kindergarten teachers' self-concept and job satisfaction. The subjects were 345 public and private kindergarten teachers. Instruments were 2 questionnaires: The Tools for Measuring kindergarten Teachers' Self-concept, and the Survey of Kindergarten Teacher Job Satisfaction. Results showed that kindergarten teachers' self-concept was positively correlated with job satisfaction. The most important sub-factor influencing job satisfaction was self-concept regarding professional and social position. These results imply that teacher education program or organizational climate improving teachers' positive self-concept would be needed.

  • This study analyzes how the person-environment fit on organization attractiveness, commitment, and job satisfaction in TV home shopping companies. The survey was conducted from May 3 to 31 in 2010, and 350 responses were used in the data analysis. The statistical analysis methods were frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results show that person-environment fit of TV home shopping companies is composed of person-job fit, person-supervisor fit, and person-organization fit. The person-job fit, person-supervisor fit, and person-organization fit of TV home shopping companies influence the organization attractiveness and commitment. The organization attractiveness and commitment affect the job satisfaction in TV home shopping companies.
