Objectives : To identify the relationship between the internet addiction of adolescents and their Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile and Perceived Health Status, and thereby to detect the impact of internet addiction on the health of adolescents, produce the basic information necessary to develop a prevention program for internet addiction and to plan for a health promotion program. Methods : This study was designed as a cross-sectional study, and the subjects were the second-grade students of three junior-high and three high schools located in the city of K in Kyung Gi Province. Out of 769 subjects, 764 completed the questionnaires (99.3%); 369 (48.3%) junior-high school students and 395 (51.7%) high school students. The questionnaires were composed of Young's Internet Addiction, Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile, Perceived Health Status, and general characteristics. We used t-test, ANOVA in means comparison between groups, X2-test in frequency analysis, and multiple regression analysis in multivariate analysis, using the SAS $8.1^{\circledR}$ program. Results : There was a statistically significant difference in Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile according to internet addiction status (severe addiction vs. other status, p<0.0001). The Perceived Health Status scores was lowest in the severe addiction group (p<0.001). There was also a significant negative correlation between internet addiction and Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile (p<0.0001). The results of multiple regression showed that Young's Addiction Score was significant for the subjects' Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile after controlling for other variables (p<0.0001). Conclusions : This study showed that the severe internet addiction group had the lowest score in Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile and Perceived Health Status, which suggests that the addiction could have a negative effect on the health status of adolescents.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine effects of an empowerment education program (EEP) on internet games addiction, empowerment, and stress in middle school students. Methods: The EEP used in this study was based on the Freire' Empowerment Education Model. The research design of this study was a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design for 48 middle school students, who were conveniently assigned to an experimental group or a control group. The data were collected from May 29 to June 19, 2005. Data were analyzed using SPSS/PC program with frequencies, $\chi^2$-test, Fisher exact test, t-test, mean, standard deviation and ANCOVA. Results: 1) The first hypothesis that, "the experimental group would have higher empowerment scores than the control group. "was supported. 2) The second hypothesis that, "the experimental group would have lower internet games addiction scores than the control group."was supported. 3) The third hypothesis that, "the experimental group would have lower stress scores than the control group." was supported. Conclusion: We suggest, therefore, that the EEP should be used with adolescent to help them control their stress, internet games addiction and to increase their empowerment.

The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate an internet based program for nursing informatics. The course subject, Nursing Informatics, was made by a computerized instructional module using the internet. The program was developed after taking into consideration the level of competence and knowledge in the subjects. It was based on 10 steps of the CAI module developed by Alessi and Trollip. The subjects consisted of 76 junior nursing students taking a Nursing Informatics course. Two sets of questionnaires were used for this study. First, a questionnaire was administered to 76 students to collect general information on their experience while using computers and the internet. Secondly, another questionnaire was administrated to 76 students after they took the course. They were asked to evaluate the program in terms of easiness of use, precision of contents, freshness of contents, motivation in learning, effectiveness of learning, enhancement of communication, precision of screen, and interest in the contents. IDs and passwords were given to the students. The students were asked to write their IDs and passwords when they connected to Nursing Informatics (http://hallym.ac.kr/~yhyom/ inform.html). They were led the menu page which was categorized into 8 icons (i. e., syllabus, lecture notes, quick test, Q & A board, assignment, on-line test, related web sites and mailing lists) after confirming their IDs and passwords. The students' responses were very positive. This program was a very useful in increasing the effectiveness of learning and motivation in the students. Suggest to be use for other nursing courses.

The Purpose of this study is to exame the effectiveness of music therapy program on self efficacy of juveniles with internet game addiction. The study was carried out with 9 juveniles who were belonging to a dangerous user group and a warning user group in the internet addiction observer index, and attended K City K Youth Center. To test the effectiveness of the program, this study employed pretest-posttest simple group design. the date were analyzed by t-test. As the result, The Music therapy program was verified to effect on enhancing self efficacy of the juveniles with internet game addiction. The limitations of the study were discussed, as well as the application of the study results and recommendations for additional exploratory research.

In this paper development of on-line data visualization program is described and some examples of data postprocessing are shown. The program is written in JAVA language and runs as a JAVA applet on the web browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox. Remote users can use the program to visualize and analyze their own flow data by accessing the program server through the internet and loading data files in proper formats from their local computers. This paper describes briefly about algorithms for data visualization, structure and available functions of the program, and web sever system. The mechanism of how the JAVA applet can access and process local data files and relevant coding techniques are explained as well. Also explained is what is required for the remote users and client computers to access the program on-line. Some visualization examples performed on a local computer are illustrated by accessing the server remotely.

Having developed a parent education program for guidance of internet-using children, we evaluated the effectiveness of this program. The program consisted of five two-hour sessions. It was test-run with nineteen participants, which included mothers of elementary school children. In the evaluation of the program, we employed so-called 'pretest-posttest control group design' which compares the difference in the parenting sense of competence, parents' sense of role satisfaction, parents' sense of insecurity, and parents' rearing attitudes between the experimental group and the control group. Program evaluation revealed that the parenting sense of competence and role satisfaction increased in the group that participated in the program compared to the non-participating group. Furthermore, the parents' sense of insecurity decreased and democratic rearing attitudes were fostered in the participating group.

Purpose: The purpose this study was to examine pathways from family strengths and resilience to internet addiction through stress in male high school students Methods: Particiants in this study included 482 male students from six high schools located in Daegu and Gyeongsangbukdo, Korea. The SPSS 15.0 program and AMOS 7.0 program were used for analysis of data. Results: In this study, family strengths, resilience and stress were found to be factors influencing internet addiction. Stress was a direct factor and family strengths and resilience were indirect factors. Conclusion: Findings of this study may provide useful assistance in development of effective nursing interventions for prevention and management of male high school students' internet addiction.

The efficiency of internet lectures has been proved in many areas, and its significance and role theory has been consistently mentioned in the fields of furniture design education that demand a large amount of educational contents and practice in visual education. However, it reveals weaknesses without satisfying the demand owing to various realistic issues. In this study, the significance and developmental process of internet lecture as well as its effect after the development in terms of the education on furniture design were analyzed by counting some development cases of internet educational program in relation with AutoCAD educational course, a computer design program for furniture design. Also through such analysis, it intended to promote the development of design education by assessing the merits and problems, assignments to be supplemented, and utilization of the educational course development.

This research presents new type of remote monitoring and control solution of PLC that can be used bi-directional and efficient management of factory automation through internet. This system has client/server architect for information handling between PLC and remote computer where a user can control and monitor target PLC. Actually the authors redirect RS232C connection between PLC and server computer into Internet connection between PLC and remote client computer using supplied PLC tool program So user feel like in front of PLC panel when he operates remote PLC through Internet. Each client/server program is constructed with Java language for security. In this paper the internet-based remote control system was proposed and proved validity by being applied to redirection of PLC control for factory automation.
