Towards a Next Generation of Data Capture Architecture of Honeynets

  • Honeynets have become one of essential tools in system and network security. As the importance of security has increased over the years, many researchers try to improve the overall Honeynet architecture. Due to their efforts, the Honeynets have evolved up to the third generation. However, the GenIII architecture has some limitations. In this paper, we address some of the limitations and provide solutions by redesigning the framework of data capture of Honeynets.

An Efficient Public Key Based Security Architecture for Wireless Sensor Networks

  • In this paper, we propose a public key based security architecture for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). The basic architecture comprises of two schemes; a key handshaking scheme based on simple linear operations for fast computation and an identity based cryptosystem which does not require any certificate authority. Our analysis shows that, the combined scheme ensures a good level of security and is very much suitable for the energy constrained trend of wireless sensor network.

  • In orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) systems, phase noise introduced by the local oscillators can cause bit error rate (BER) performance degradation. To solve the phase noise problem, a novel orthogonal-polarization-based phase noise self-cancellation (OP-PNSC) scheme is proposed. First, the efficiency of canceling the phase noise of the OP-PNSC scheme in the AWGN channel is investigated. Then, the OP-PNSC scheme in the polarization-dependent loss (PDL) channel is investigated due to power imbalance caused by PDL, and a PDL pre-compensated OP-PNSC (PPC -OP-PNSC) scheme is proposed to mitigate the power imbalance caused by PDL. In addition, the performance of the PPC-OP-PNSC scheme is investigated, where the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) and spectral efficiency (SE) performances are analyzed. Finally, a comparison between the OP-PNSC and polarization diversity scheme is discussed. The numerical results show that the BER and SINR performances of the OP-PNSC scheme outperform the case with the phase noise compensation and phase noise self-cancellation scheme.

Development of Delay Test Architecture for Counter (카운터 회로에 대한 지연결함 검출구조의 개발)

  • In this paper. we developed a delay test architecture and test procedure for clocked 5-bit asynchronous counter circuit based on boundary scan architecture. To develope, we analyze the problems of conventional method on delay test for clocked sequential circuit in boundary scan architecture. This paper discusses several problems of delay test on boundary scan architecture for clocked sequential circuit. Conventional test method has some problems of improper capture timing, of same pattern insertion, of increase of test time. We suggest a delay test architecture and test procedure, is based on a clock count-generation technique to generate continuous clocks for clocked input of CUT. The simulation results or 5-bit counter shows the accurate operation and effectiveness of the proposed delay test architecture and procedure.

  • This paper presents a new semi- systolic architecture for $AB^2$ operation. First of all the previous architecture proposed by Lee et al. is analysed and then we present a new algorithm and it's architecture for $AB^2$ operation based on AOP (all one polynomial) to solve the shortcomings in the architecture. Proposed architecture has an efficient configuration than other previous architectures. It is useful for implementing the exponentiation architecture, which is the core operation in public-key cryptosystems.

  • Constructions and Architecture fields were divided into Architecture engineering and Architecture in the 5th edition of Korean Decimal Classification (KDC), but those were combined in the 6th edition of KDC published in 2013. The purposes of this study are to find problems and to suggest modifications through comparing and analyzing the 5th and the 6th editions of KDC, Dewey Decimal Classification, Nippon Decimal Classification and Universal Decimal Classification. The necessity of reclassification, a long classification number for History of Architecture and addition of categories of traditional building and architectural engineering are required to improve the 6th edition of KDC and the improvements and modifications of those problems are suggested.

Balanced MVC Architecture for High Efficiency Mobile Applications

  • Mobile devices such as Android devices are emerging as a convenient client computing device with mobility and context-sensing capability. However, the computing power and hardware resource of the devices are limited due to their small form-factor. Consequently, large-scaled applications could not be deployed on these devices. Nonetheless, if the large-scaled applications are deployed and executed on the devices, high performance of the applications cannot be guaranteed. To remedy the limitation in terms of performance, it is inevitable to let some heavy-weight functionality executed on the server side and let a client application invoke the functionality in the server. To realize this kind of mobile applications, we adopt well-defined architecture design principles; being thin-client, being layered with Model-View-Controller (MVC), and being balanced between client side and server side. By adopting the principles, we propose a unique, ideal and practical architecture for mobile applications, called balanced MVC architecture. By considering the principles, key design considerations of realizing balanced MVC architecture lie in functionality partitioning. Hence, we define key criteria of determining the degree of performance. And, we define a method to design a balanced MVC architecture which embodies functionality partitioning for high performance, and a simulation-based evaluation method of balanced MVC architectures.

  • In this paper, we propose security management architecture that manages efficiently security systems that are produced by different companies and programmable middleware that can reduce the load of management traffic. The proposed architecture applies programmable networks technology to policy based network management (PBNM). The proposed architecture manages and cooperates various security systems using security policy. Also, the programmable middleware provides convenience of management and reduces the overhead of a policy server by translating security policy into execution command. In addition, using programmable middleware, an administrator can manage various security systems that are produced by different companies. We showed that the programmable middleware could reduce the load of management traffic by comparing processing time for enforcing and transferring of policies/messages between the proposed architecture and PBNM architecture.

LDPC Decoder Architecture for High-speed UWB System (고속 UWB 시스템의 LDPC 디코더 구조 설계)

  • MB-OFDM UWB system will adopt LDPC codes to enhance the decoding performance with higher data rates. In this paper, we will consider algorithm and architecture of the LDPC codes in MB-OFDM UWB system. To suggest the hardware efficient LDPC decoder architecture, LLR(log-likelihood-ration) calculation algorithms and check node update algorithms are analyzed. And we proposed the architecture of LDPC decoder for the high throughput application of Wimedia UWB. We estimated the feasibility of the proposed architecture by implementation in a FPGA. The implementation results show our architecture attains higher throughput than other result of QC-LDPC case. Using this architecture, we can implement LDPC decoder for high throughput transmission, but it is 0.2dB inferior to the BP algorithm.

Implementation of a Context-awareness based UoC Architecture for MANET (MANET에서 상황인식 기반의 UoC Architecture 구현)

  • Context-aware computing has been attracting the attention as an approach to alleviating the inconvenience in human-computer interactions. This paper proposes a context-aware system architecture to be implemented on an UoC (Ubiquitous system on Chip). A new proposed technology of CRS (Context Recognition Switch) and DOS (Dynamic and Optimal Standard) based on Context-awareness system architecture with pre-processor, HPSP(High Performance Signal Processor) in this paper. And proposed a new algorithm using in network topology processor shows for Ubiquitous Computing System. implementing in UoC (Ubiquitous System on Chip) base on the IEEE 802.15.4 WPAN (Wireless Personal Area Network) standard. Also, This context-aware based UoC architecture has been developed to apply to mobile intelligent robots which would support human in a context-aware manner.
