농촌지도사의 역할갈등에 대한 이론적 탐색 (A Theoretical Exploration on Agricultural Extension Workers' Role Conflict)

  • The objectives of this study were to explore theoretically the factors that were associated with role conflict of rural extension educators, to investigate the consequences of this conflict, and to suggest possible solutions to the role conflict. This study was carried out through literature review. The findings from this study were as follows : 1) The causes of role conflict were divided into individual characteristics and social or organizational characteristics. Existing research papers examining the cause of rural extension educators' role conflict had focused mainly on individual characteristics. Therefore, social characteristics of the role conflict should be included in future research activities. 2) The consequences of role conflict were made up of individual dimensions and organizational dimensions. However, pervious researches on rural extension educators' role conflict had dealt with the individual dimensions only. Therefore, the consequences of organizational dimensions should be added to future researches. 3) Revision of roles and job specifications, developing professional competencies, and raising achievement motivation were some of the possible solutions to rural extension educators' role conflict. These solutions, if managed effectively, may improve the performance of extension organizations, as well as that of the individuals by solving the role conflict of rural extension educators.

귀농·귀촌의 경험 여부에 따른 갈등 요인과 관리에 대한 인식 차이 (The Perception Gap about Conflict Factors and Solutions by Experience of Returning to Farming)

  • Targeting people returning to farming and also people preparing for returning to farming, this study analyzed differences in awareness of conflict factors and conflict management focusing on the conflicts experiencing in the process of their movement and settlement process in rural area. In the results, people preparing for returning to farming showed higher awareness of conflicts and also higher necessity of conflict management than people already returning to farming. Also, both groups preferred individual conflict management to structural conflict management. Based on the results like above, the implications can be summarized like below. First, it would be necessary to have programs informing possible conflicts in advance in the process of returning to farming and also relieving psychological anxiety by providing prior-learning to people preparing for returning to farming. Second, it would be necessary to have individual conflict management measures to establish mutual trust and to form community spirit through regular social gatherings between original residents and people returning to farming. Since the effect of conflict management can be maximized only when the structural and individual conflict managements are properly harmonized, it would be necessary to have the structural conflict management which is relatively felt difficult.

대구 외식업 종사원의 직무소진에 관한 연구 - '가족-일 갈등', '일-가족 갈등', 직무만족 및 개인직무성과를 중심으로 - (Job Burnout of Restaurant Employees in Daegu City - With a Focus on 'Family-Work Conflict', 'Work-Family Conflict', Job Satisfaction, and Individual Job Performance -)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between 'family-work conflict/work-family conflict', job burnout, job satisfaction, and individual job performance in the employees at the restaurants in Daegu City. The sample of this study consisted of employees at the restaurants in Daegu City who visited the 2010 Daegu Food Tour Expo between October 7 and October 10. A total of 302 questionnaires were analyzed using statistical methods of factor analysis, reliability test, and covariance structural analysis. The research findings were as follows; firstly, work-family conflict was positively related to job burnout, secondly, job burnout was negatively related to job satisfaction and individual job performance and thirdly, job satisfaction was positively related to individual job performance. However, there was no relationship between family-work conflict and job burnout. The reason for rejection of the relationship between family-work conflict and job burnout was that family-related affairs were not important enough to affect job burnout among restaurant employees in Korea. This phenomenon happened differently in the US. Therefore, currently, restaurant managers in Daegu City should pay much attention to work-related affairs so as to mitigate job burnout as much as possible among their employees.

Social Media Performance: From the Perspective of Social Media Apathetic Behavior

  • Purpose - Social media platforms have presented individuals with an opportunity to create and maintain their social relationship through the use of social media services. However, such social relationship has a negative influence on users' interest in social media. Design/methodology - Using structural equation modeling, this study seeks to examines the effects of different social media conflicts (individual and social conflicts) on users' psychological internal state, especially user apathetic behavior Findings - The findings confirm that, among social media conflicts, social-related conflict, especially social interaction overload has a negative effect on cognitive resonance, while individual conflict has the highest effect on cognitive dissonance. Also, cognitive dissonance has a much greater effect than cognitive resonance on user resistance, this means that users' negative perception of social media has a greater influence on their resistance. Lastly, user's resistance was found to have a positive influence on user's apathetic behavior. Originality/value - In other to capture social media Apathetic behavior, this study focus on social media conflict perspective, which includes social-related conflict and individual conflict, which are found to influence users' internal states towards social media and further induce social media behavior. This study is unique because it is among the first to explore social media apathetic behavior by focusing on the influence of both external social media conflict and internal state. Also, this study proposed that social related conflict has a higher negative influence on WeChat user than individual related conflict.

일·가정생활의 갈등과 몰입의 관계: 자기효능감의 조절효과 (Work-Family Conflict and Engagement: Moderating Effect of Self-Efficacy)

  • 본 연구는 일과 가정생활의 갈등이 개인몰입에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 분석함으로써 이론적 차원뿐만 아니라 기업경영의 실무적인 측면에서 시사점 발견을 목적으로 하였다. 본 연구에서는 실증연구를 위해 일과 삶의 갈등을 독립변수로 몰입을 종속변수로 설정하였다. 또한 자기효능감이 두 변수의 관계에서 의미 있는 조절역할을 하는지 실증적으로 검증하였다. 실증자료의 분석 결과, 일과 가정생활의 갈등은 개인의 일과 조직의 몰입에 의미 있는 영향을 미치고 있는 것이 확인되었다. 자기효능감은 일 삶의 갈등과 개인의 몰입과의 관계를 조절하는 효과를 나타내었다. 본 연구의 결과는 일과 가정생활 갈등 분야의 이론적인 기여와 기업의 성과향상과 유지를 위한 관리자의 실질적인 역할에 대한 지침으로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

한국의 사회적 자본과 갈등: 사회적 자본의 다면적 속성에 대한 재조명 (Social Capital and Social Conflicts in Korea: The Multiple Facets of Social Capital)

  • 본 연구는 다원화된 한국사회의 사회통합 및 갈등해소를 위한 방안을 사회적 자본에서 찾고자 하였다. 이를 위해 사회적 자본을 (1) 일반적 타자에 대한 신뢰, (2) 국가 공공영역에 대한 신임, (3) 연줄망과 연결망을 포괄하는 네트워크, (4) 공동체 의식으로 구분하였고, 사회적 자본이 잠재된 갈등의식을 나타내는 갈등잠재지수에 어떤 영향을 미치고 있는지를 실증적으로 분석하여 다음과 같은 사실을 발견하였다. 첫째, 일반적 타자에 대해 신뢰가 높은 사람은 사회통합 지향적 경향을 보여 주었다. 둘째, 국가 공공영역의 절차적 공정성 및 민주적 운영을 신뢰하고 있는 사람들 역시 사회통합 지향적 경향을 보여 주었다. 하지만 특정 정권에 대해 신뢰가 높은 사람은 오히려 갈등 지항적 경향을 보여주었다. 셋째, 폐쇄적 연줄망을 활용하는 사람들은 갈등지향적인 반면, 개방적 연결망을 활용하는 사람들은 사회통합 지향적이었다. 넷째, 공동체규범의 내면화 정도는 사람들의 사회 통합적 지향성과 아무런 관련이 없었다. 이러한 결과들이 갖는 함의는 다음과 같다. 다원화된 한국사회의 실질적 사회통합을 위한 사회적 자본은 학연, 혈연 지연과 같은 전통적인 폐쇄적 연결망에 기반한 것이 아니라, 익명의 일반적 타자들에 대한 신뢰와 느슨하게 연결된 개방적 연결망에 기반해야 한다. 또한 실질적 사회통합은 공정한 국정운영 시스템에 대한 신임에 기초해야 하는 것이지, 특정 기관 혹은 정파에 대한 맹목적 신뢰에 기초해서는 안 된다.

Conflict Levels in Indian IT and Manufacturing Sectors: A Comparative Study

  • The present study highlights the conflict management levels in Indian manufacturing and Information Technology (IT) sectors. Nearly 110 samples from different organizations of manufacturing and IT have been collected using convenient sampling technique. Standardised scale on Organisational Conflict developed by Dhar U. and Dhar S. [2003] has been used which consists of twenty items on a four point scale. The study has shown that miscommunication at organizational level has been a reason for conflict in manufacturing organizations whereas intrinsic motivation at organizational as well as individual level has been found a reason for conflict in IT sector. The study bears implications for HR managers to develop policies and conflict management strategies so as to deal with the situations constructively at a particular level of conflict.

일(가정)-가정(일)갈등과 개인몰입 간의 관계: 지각된 조직 건강지원 분위기의 조절효과 (The Relationship between Work-Family Conflict and Individual Engagement: Moderating Effect of Perceived Wellness Climate)

  • 본 연구는 조직 구성원의 일-가정 간의 갈등이 개인몰입에 미치는 관계에서 지각된 조직 건강지원 분위기의 조절효과를 검증하였다. 일-가정 갈등은 일영역에서의 부정적 효과가 가정영역에 미치게 되는 일방적인 단방향의 문제가 아니라 부정적 영향을 받은 가정영역에서의 효과가 다시 일영역에 부정적으로 나타나는 이슈이다. 본 연구는 IT, 서비스, 제조업 등 총 11 개 기업의 직원들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 실증 분석하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 일-가정(가정-일) 갈등이 개인몰입에 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 일-가정 갈등과 개인몰입 간의 관계에 있어 조직 건강지원 분위기의 조절효과는 한계적인 수준에서 유의한 것으로 나타났고, 가정-일 갈등과 개인몰입 간의 관계에 있어서 조직 건강지원 분위기의 조절효과가 통계적으로 유의한 결과가 나타났다. 결론 부분에 이 연구의 시사점과 한계점, 그리고 향후 연구 방향을 제시하였다.

Cultural Aspect of Conflict Behaviour in Construction -A Case Study from Turkey

  • Although much research has been conducted to identify the influence of culture on conflict management and resolution behaviours in organizational settings, no study has been done yet in the construction industry particularly in considering the influence of individual level individualistic and collectivistic values. Despite the key role of self-construal in explaining or predicting behaviour in interpersonal conflict, it has not received enough attention in construction management. Reflecting this necessity, the objective of this exploratory study was to establish, through the application of the Rahim Organizational Inventory (ROC II) instrument, how the cultural values of professionals of construction businesses relate to the application of different conflict-handling styles through self-construal. Data were collected using questionnaire surveys from construction professionals working in contracting firms. The findings illustrate the importance of self-construal type as an individual-level cultural variable in explaining the differences in the style of handling interpersonal conflict in the context of the construction industry.

  • 과업 및 관계갈등의 차별적 효과에 대한 연구에 따르면, 과업갈등이 혁신적 성과에 긍정적 영향을 주는 반면, 관계갈등이 혁신적 성과에 부정적 영향을 준다고 주장하고 있다. 하지만, 과업갈등과 관계갈등 간의 밀접한 상호관련성을 고려해 본다면, 혁신적 성과에 긍정적 영향을 주는 과업갈등은 관계갈등으로 전이되면서, 혁신적 성과에 부정적 영향을 줄 수 있다. 따라서 과업갈등이 관계갈등으로 전이되는 것을 약화시키는 경영관리 방식이 필요하며, 개인이 보유한 사회 정체성이고, 팀에 대한 감정적 인지적 유대인 팀 정체화는 효과적인 갈등관리 방안일 수 있다. 본 연구는 213명의 종업원들을 통해 수집한 자료를 토대로, 이러한 논리가 기업현장에서 실제로 성립되고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 연구결과를 토대로 연구의 시사점과 향후 연구방향을 제시하였다.
