Objective: To investigate the dimensional accuracy of digital dental models obtained from the dental cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scan of alginate impressions according to the time elapse when the impressions are stored under ambient conditions. Methods: Alginate impressions were obtained from 20 adults using 3 different alginate materials, 2 traditional alginate materials (Alginoplast and Cavex Impressional) and 1 extended-pour alginate material (Cavex ColorChange). The impressions were stored under ambient conditions, and scanned by CBCT immediately after the impressions were taken, and then at 1 hour intervals for 6 hours. After reconstructing three-dimensional digital dental models, the models were measured and the data were analyzed to determine dimensional changes according to the elapsed time. The changes within the measurement error were regarded as clinically acceptable in this study. Results: All measurements showed a decreasing tendency with an increase in the elapsed time after the impressions. Although the extended-pour alginate exhibited a less decreasing tendency than the other 2 materials, there were no statistically significant differences between the materials. Changes above the measurement error occurred between the time points of 3 and 4 hours after the impressions. Conclusions: The results of this study indicate that digital dental models can be obtained simply from a CBCT scan of alginate impressions without sending them to a remote laboratory. However, when the impressions are not stored under special conditions, they should be scanned immediately, or at least within 2 to 3 hours after the impressions are taken.

Statement of problem: Volume stability, microstructure reproducibility and fluidity along with compatibility with dental stone must be in consideration in order to use tissue conditioner as a material for functional impression. There are few studies concerning the influence of time factor in oral condition on surface roughness of the stone and optimal retention period in the oral cavity considering such changes in surface roughness. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to find out the influence of various kinds of tissue conditioner, its powder/liquid ratio and immersion time on surface roughness of the stone. Material and methods: Materials used in this study were the three kinds of tissue conditioners(Coe-Comfort, Visco-Gel, Soft-Liner) and were grouped into three: group R-mixed with standard powder/liquid ratio that was recommended by the manufacturers, group M-mixed with 20% more powder, group L-mixed with 20% less powder. Specimens were made with the size of 20 mm diameter and 2 mm width. Each tissue conditioner specimens were subdivided into 5 groups according to the immersion time(0 hour, 1 day, 3 days, 5 days, 7 days), completely immersed into artificial saliva and were stored under $37^{\circ}C$. Specimens of which the given immersion time elapsed were taken out and were poured with improved stone, making the stone specimens. Surface roughness of the stone specimens was measured by a profilometer. Results: Within the limitation of this study, the following results were drawn. 1. Major influencing factor on surface roughness of the stone model made from tissue conditioner was the retention period(contribution ratio($\rho$)=62.86%, P<.05) of the tissue conditioner in oral cavity to make functional impression. 2. In case of Coe-Comfort, higher mean surface roughness value of the stone model with statistical significance was observed compared to that of Soft-Liner and Visco-Gel as immersion time changes(P<.05). 3. In case of group L(less), higher mean surface roughness value of the stone model with statistical significance was observed compared to that of R(recommended) and M(more) group as immersion time changes(P<.05). Conclusion: We may conclude that as the retention period of time in oral cavity influences surface roughness of the stone model the most and as the kind of tissue conditioner and its P/L ratio may influence also, clinician should well understand the optimal retention period in oral cavity and choose the right tissue conditioner for the functional impression, thus making the functional impression with tissue conditioner usefully.

This study evaluated the linear dimensional changes with the factor of time and thickness using of three commercially available tissue conditioners (Coe-Comport, Visco-Gel, Soft-Liner). The thickness of materials were changed (1.5mm, 3.0mm) and the percentage changes in dimension were measured at 1h(baseline), 12h, 24h, 3 days and 7days after specimen preparation. The obtained data were analyzed by ANOVA with the SAS/PC statistical package. From the results, large differences appear between the various tissue conditioners. The results suggested that the period recommended for forming functional impression would be 36h to 3days after insertion in the mouth. Depending on the type of tissue conditioner over time, as there were significant differences in the elastic change(p<0.05). Tissue conditioner of the 1.5mm, 3.0mm thickness were significantly different by the dimensional stability(p<0.05). Elastic deformation of the ideal itself, and resilient when compared only the look, Visco-Gel 3.0mm group, stability was the most stable volume. In addition, it is important to select tissue conditioners suitable for functional impression because of the wide range of dimensional stability among the materials.
The acrylic resin was first introduced as denture base materials in 1937 and it is commonly used for denture base fabrication nowadays. Three different curing cycles (Conventional curing cycle, short curing cycle and long curing cycle) and three commercially available heat-activated acrylic resins (Vertex RS, Lucitone 199 and ProBase Hot) were investigated to find the curing cycle and material that showed the minimum shrinkage of the resin during polymerization process. A brass master mold was fabricated and duplicated by additional silicone impression material. Stone molds were made by pouring of type III dental stone (SILKY-ROCK YELLOW, Whip-Mix, Louisville, Kentucky). It was embedded in the flask. Strain gauge and thermocouple were embedded in the specimen. Strain gauge and thermocouple were connected to signal conditioning amplifier and data was recorded by pre-programmed software. The parameters ESmax (Maximum expansion strain), Sb (Strain measured just before deflasking procedure), Sa (Strain measured just after deflasking procedure) and Sf (Strain measured at the end of the experiment) were measured. ${\Delta}$S was calculated from Sb and Sa (${\Delta}$S=Sb-Sa). In the experiment concerned about materials, the parameters 90-ESmax (Maximum expansion strain measured during early 90 minutes of curing procedure), 180-ESmax (Maximum expansion strain measured from 90 minutes to 180 minutes), Sb, Sa, ${\Delta}$S and Sf were measured and the following conclusions were made. 1. The ESmax value of conventional curing cycle showed the largest value and the 180-ESmax value of Lucitone 199 showed the smallest value. 90-ESmax values showed no significant difference (p<0.05). 2. ${\Delta}$S values of conventional curing cycle showed the positive values. ${\Delta}$S values of short curing cycle and long curing cycle showed the negative values. All three materials cured by conventional curing cycle showed the positive values. 3. The Sf values of long curing cycle and ProBase Hot (cured by conventional curing cycle) showed the smallest values.

Measurements of the elastic modulus and hardness using a nano indentation machine rely on the equation for the fitted contact area, which is valid for only sink-in materials. For most soft engineering materials that involve pile-up behavior rather than sink-in, the contact area equation underestimates the contact area and thus overestimates the elastic modulus and hardness. This study proposes a correction method to amend erroneous hardness measurements in pile-up situations. The method is a supplemental derivation to the original hardness measurement with the known value of the elastic modulus. The method was examined for soft engineering metals, Al 6061 T6 and C 12200, via tensile tests, nano indentation tests, impression observations, and finite element analysis. The proposed technique shows reasonable agreement with the analytical results accounting for strain gradient plasticity from a previous study.
To determine the compatibilities of soft liming materials with denture cleansers by measuring the flexibility and elasticity and investigating the surface changes, 4 self-curing acrylic resin soft lining materials and 1 heat-curing silicone soft lining material were evaluated. 3mm thick x 20mm diameter discs of soft lining materials were individually bonded to a hard acrylic resin base as per manufacturers’instructions. Using an Instron universal testing machine, a static stress of $2kg/cm^2$ was applied for 30secs., the strain in compression was measured, giving an indication of the material’s flexibility. Elastic recovery was measured at 10secs. After removal of stress. Surface changes were investigated with Stereomicroscope. Then the specimens were immersed in 4alkaline peroxide denture cleansers and water as control group, tests were carried out at 1 day, 2 days, 7 days, 14 days and 30 days. The results were as follows : 1. Alkaline peroxide denture cleansers caused considerable porosity on the surface of selfcuring acrylic resin soft lining materials, and the most affected by the cleansers were Viscogel, Coe-Soft, Coe-Comfort, Lynal, in that order. 2. There was significant difference in flexibility between each soft lining material except for Coe-Comfort and Visco-gel, and every soft lining material was significant difference in elasticity. Especially Molloplast-B and Lynal were less flexible and more elastic than other soft lining materials(p<0.05). 3. The denture cleansers increased the flexibility and elasticity of the soft lining materials compared with control group(p<0.05), and Denalan, Polident, Kleenite, Efferdent affected the soft lining materials in that order. 4. There was significant difference in flexibility between each denture cleanser except for Denalan and Polident(p<0.05). Though Denalan and Polident, Denalan and Kleenite did not show significant difference in elasticity, other denture cleansers showed significant difference among each other(p<0.05). 5. Clinically Coe-Comfort, Coe-Soft and Visco-gel were incompatible with alkaline peroxide denture cleansers, and Lynal would be used within only 2 weeks. But Molloplast-B was compatible with alkaline peroxide denture cleansers.

Green Marketing, a response to the serious environment problems of the 21st century, is an important point for trends in both art and fashion. It is a strategy for reminding consumers of the threatening environment problems and to recognize that everyone must take responsibility for these problems. Green marketing is a concept that is the point at issue and social reform movement. The purpose of this study was to find examples of Green Marketing in fashion and classify them into four groups. The results of this study were as follows. First, the terms related to green marketing as related to fashion can be categorized into four areas: 1. Eco-friendly product marketing: product merchandising that usually uses organic materials and green manufacturing processes. 2. Green-communication marketing: PR strategies that use green slogans through deep impression advertising or special promotional events relating reducing, reusing and recycling, etc., with the brand's name. 3. Green environmental-marketing: marketing strategies that is an enlightenment campaign for environmental preservation and sustainable fashion design such as reusing, recycling, and reducing. 4. Cause-related marketing: marketing plans that return profits to society and that take an active part in the causes of the community. It was expected that these types of green marketing strategies would yield positive effects in enhancing brand value and consumer confidence as well as increasing profits.

As Korea is entering an aging society, the number of elderly people who need new denture or who have problems with their existing denture or adjacent tissue is increasing and it will double in 2018. Therefore, denture clinician system will lessen patients financial burden and introduce market economy to the dental prosthesis field. Therefore, Korea needs to adopt denture clinician system as soon as possible as USA or Canada to increase people s accessibility in quality and quantity. Denture clinician will determine the size and shape of denture after performing oral examination, make impression using various materials, fabricate denture, deliver and adjust completed denture to the patient, repair denture, and carry out financial management in the denture fabricating company or manage human resources. Considering denture clinicians services, American and European education system seems to be close to our system. Therefore, in this study, basic curriculums of several countries in Europe and America were reviewed and curriculum that meets Korean situation was suggested.

The geometrically standardized intraoral radiographs using 5 occlusal registration materials were taken serially from immediate, 1 day, 2, 4, 8, 12, and 16 weeks after making the bite blocks. And the resultant images were digitally subtracted using the immediately taken film as reference images. The qualities of those subtracted images were evaluated to check the degree of reproducibility of each impression material. The results were as follows: 1. The standard deviations of the grey scales of the overall subtracted images were 4.9 for Exal1ex, 7.2 for Pattern resin, 9.0 for Tooth Shade Acrylic, 12.2 for XCP only, 14.8 for Impregum. the lesser the standard deviation, the better the quality of the subtracted images. 2. The standard deviation of the grey scales of the overall subtracted images were grossly related to those of the localized horizontal line of interest. 3. Exaflex which showed the best subtracted image quality had 15 cases of straight, 14 cases of wave, 1 case of canyon shape. Impregum which showed the worst subtracted image quality had 4 cases of straight, 8 cases of wave, 18 cases of canyon shape respectively.
PURPOSE. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the repeatability and reproducibility of the abutment angle using a blue light scanner. MATERIALS AND METHODS. 0°, 6°, and 10° wax cast abutment dies were fabricated. Each of the silicone impression was produced using the replicable silicone. Each study die was constructed from the prepared replicable stone used for scans. 3-dimensional data was obtained after scanning the prepared study dies for the repeatability by using the blue light scanner. The prepared 3-dimensional data could have the best fit alignment using 3-dimensional software. For reproducibility, each abutment was used as the first reference study die, and then it was scanned five times per each. 3-dimensional software was used to perform the best fit alignment. The data obtained were analyzed using a nonparametric Kruskal-Wallis H test (α=.05), post hoc Mann-Whitney U test, and Bonferroni correction (α=.017). RESULTS. The repeatability of 0°, 6°, and 10° abutments was 3.9, 4.4 and 4.7 ㎛, respectively. Among them, the 0° abutment had the best value while the 10° abutment showed the worst value. There was a statistically significant difference (P<.05). The reproducibility of 0°, 6°, and 10° abutments was 6.1, 5.5, and 5.3 ㎛, respectively. While the 10° abutment showed the best value, the 0° abutment showed the worst value. However, there was no statistically significant difference (P>.05). CONCLUSION. In repeatability, the 0° abutment showed a positive result. In reproducibility, the 10° abutment achieved a positive result.
