  • The 5GCHAMPION Europe-Korea collaborative project provides the first fully-integrated and operational 5G prototype in 2018, in conjunction with the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games. The corresponding technological advances comprise both an evolution and optimization of existing technological solutions and disruptive new features, which substantially outpace previous generations of technology. In this article, we focus on a subset of three disruptive technological solutions developed and experimented on by 5GCHAMPION during the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Games: high speed communications, direct satellite-user equipment communications, and post-sale evolution of wireless equipment through software reconfiguration. Evaluating effectiveness and performing trials for these key 5G features permit us to learn about the actual maturity of 5G technology prototyping and the potential of new 5G services for vertical markets and end user enhanced experience two years before the launch of large-scale 5G services.

  • This study was carried out to explore the 4th Industrial Revolution technology from the perspective of the landscape industry to provide the basic data necessary to increase the virtuous circle value. The 4th Industrial Revolution, the characteristics of the landscape industry and urban regeneration were considered and the methodology was established and studied including the technical classification system suitable for systematic research, which was selected as a framework. First, the 4th Industrial Revolution technology based on digital data was selected, which could be utilized to increase the value of the virtuous circle for the landscape industry. From 'Element Technology Level', and 'Core Technology' such as the Internet of Things, Cloud Computing, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Robot, 'Peripheral Technology', Virtual or Augmented Reality, Drones, 3D 4D Printing, and 3D Scanning were highlighted as the 4th Industrial Revolution technology. It has been shown that it is possible to increase the value of the virtuous circle when applied at the 'Trend Level', in particular to the landscape industry. The 'System Level' was analyzed as a general-purpose technology, and based on the platform, the level of element technology(computers, and smart devices) was systematically interconnected, and illuminated with the 4th Industrial Revolution technology based on digital data. The application of the 'Trend Level' specific to the landscape industry has been shown to be an effective technology for increasing the virtuous circle values. It is possible to realize all synergistic effects and implementation of the proposed method at the trend level applying the element technology level. Smart gardens, smart parks, etc. have been analyzed to the level they should pursue. It was judged that Smart City, Smart Home, Smart Farm, and Precision Agriculture, Smart Tourism, and Smart Health Care could be highly linked through the collaboration among technologies in adjacent areas at the Trend Level. Additionally, various utilization measures of related technology applied at the Trend Level were highlighted in the process of urban regeneration, public service space creation, maintenance, and public service. In other words, with the realization of ubiquitous computing, Hyper-Connectivity, Hyper-Reality, Hyper-Intelligence, and Hyper-Convergence were proposed, reflecting the basic characteristics of digital technology in the landscape industry can be achieved. It was analyzed that the landscaping industry was effectively accommodating and coordinating with the needs of new characters, education and consulting, as well as existing tasks, even when participating in urban regeneration projects. In particular, it has been shown that the overall landscapig area is effective in increasing the virtuous circle value when it systems the related technology at the trend level by linking maintenance with strategic bridgehead. This is because the industrial structure is effective in distributing data and information produced from various channels. Subsequent research, such as demonstrating the fusion of the 4th Industrial Revolution technology based on the use of digital data in creation, maintenance, and service of actual landscape space is necessary.

  • The Late modem society have been changing in so complicated and diverse ways. Each unique parts of both culture and arts are interpenetrating as lowering high of u artistic boundaries lot better communication between environmental contexts in the concept of ‘intertextuality’. Contemporary Interior Design also has freed itself from a conventional boundary of field rather than stay in a single field, which is now shown to attempt a new style of design and expression style connecting itself it to other genre. So in this thesis ‘installation’does not mean a traditional field of arts but for building interior space with environmental area in extended context - place(hyper -reality ), tableau (medium) , transformation (expansion) . Contemporary Interior Design is expanding its range and enhancing its power of expression based on the installating concept and its expression style.

  • The downlink data rates of the space-born payloads such as high-resolution optical cameras, synthetic aperture radars (SAR) and hyper-spectral sensors are being rapidly increased. For example, the image transmission rates of KOMPSAT-2 MSC(Multi-Spectral Camera) is 320Mbps even if on-board image compression scheme is used.[1] In the near future, the data rates are expected to be a level 500${\sim}$600Mbps because the required resolution will be higher and the swath width will be increased. This paper describes many techniques they enable 500Mbps data receiving and archiving system.

  • This paper proposes a sampling-based optimization method for electromagnetic design problems, where design sensitivities are obtained from the elaborate surrogate models based on the universal Kriging method and a local window concept. After inserting additional sequential samples to satisfy the certain convergence criterion, the elaborate surrogate model for each true performance function is generated within a relatively small area, called a hyper-cubic local window, with the center of a nominal design. From Jacobian matrices of the local models, the accurate design sensitivity values at the design point of interest are extracted, and so they make it possible to use deterministic search algorithms for fast search of an optimum in design space. The proposed method is applied to a mathematical problem and a loudspeaker design with constraint functions and is compared with the sensitivity-based optimization adopting the finite difference method.

  • We present the distance measurements of two spiral galaxies NGC 4517, NGC 4592, and neighboring dwarf galaxies found in Hyper Suprime-Cam Subaru Strategic Program (HSC-SSP) wide field survey data. Distances to NGC 4517 and NGC 4592 are measured by the Tip of the Red Giant Branch method from archival Hubble Space Telescope data; 9.00+0.094-0.260 Mpc for NGC 4517 and 8.90+0.256-0.060 Mpc for NGC 4592. The spatial distance between NGC 4517 and NGC 4592 is 300 kpc, which is close enough for them to be considered as a group (NGC 4517 group). Using resolved stellar photometry and Surface Brightness Fluctuation (SBF) method with HSC-SSP data, we estimate the distances to three other dwarf galaxies and confirm that they are members of the group. Velocities of three of the galaxies in the NGC 4517 group show that this group is one of the galaxy groups in the near side of the Virgo Cluster infall region.

  • A number of process algebras are not well suitable for real-time navigation/delivery systems due to the following reasons: 1) lack of representation of process distributivity over some geographical space and 2) the indistinction of representation of process mobility from process distributivity over the space. To make the process algebra suitable to the systems, it seems to be necessary to separate the space representation from the mobility representation. This paper presents a formal method for this purpose, namely, Calculus of Abstract Real-Time Distribution, Mobility, and Interaction (CARDMI). For analysis and verification of behavioral properties, CARDMI defines a set of the spatial, temporal and the interactive deduction rules and a set of equivalence relations. The rules and equivalences can be abstracted hierarchically due to the spatial abstraction, too. CARDMI can be applied to virtual navigation/delivery system for contents, too.

  • In this paper, we propose an effective memory test environment, called a virtualized kernel, for 64bit multi-core computing environments. The term of effectiveness means that we can test all of the physical memory space, even the memory space occupied by the kernel itself, without rebooting. To obtain this capability, our virtualized kernel provides four mechanisms. The first is direct accessing to physical memory both in kernel and user mode, which allows applying various test patterns to any place of physical memory. The second is making kernel virtualized so that we can run two or more kernel image at the different location of physical memory. The third is isolating memory space used by different instances of virtualized kernel. The final is kernel hibernation, which enables the context switch between kernels. We have implemented the proposed virtualized kernel by modifying the latest Linux kernel 2.6.18 running on Intel Xeon system that has two 64bit dual-core CPUs with hyper-threading technology and 2GB main memory. Experimental results have shown that the two instances of virtualized kernel run at the different location of physical memory and the kernel hibernation works well as we have designed. As the results, the every place of physical memory can be tested without rebooting.
