The results of this study were as follows. First, home economics teachers were active participating school lifelong educational program. But according to the result of research on the actual condition, the proportion of taking part in it was low. More than half of home economics teachers who took part in program's lecturer were in charge of computer courses. So they didn't show their ability as expert. Also they were in charge of several works than roll of lecturers. It was mentioned too great a burden. There is little in-service training for meeting specialization for school lifelong education. They wanted to take part of lecturers of program and preferred hours of being over class. More than half of them had intended to obtain a lifelong educator's license. The part of elective courses for obtaining a lifelong educator's license is similar to home economics educational contents. So, they have an advantage of obtaining it. Second, one-fifth of school that gave school life education carried out program of related home economics. Mostly they had mothers of students-oriented programs on artistic and leisure. But this is that home economics teachers mentioned less important teaching at society in the future. They importantly mentioned program on children's education in now and the future. Parents of students and local residents also extremely wanted it. For differentiated school life education, quality of programs is important greatly. Third, the actual condition of practical room relating home economics is only practice to cook mostly. So they are reluctant to be open it because of being responsible for the results from using there. It is necessary to ameliorate there's facilities and to increase there's area. Fourth, home economics teachers want to improve their specialization through in-service training, to develop and diffuse programs of superior quality, and to get extra pay for overtime from the government.

Second, the mother's job status affects the child's use of child care centers and private institutes for education except for the using of early child education centers. Third, the affecting main factors for the use of child care centers are quite similar to critical factors for use of the private institute for education. Thus, young children using the private institute for education could be interpreted as coming from a low-income class compared with the children using the early child education centers.

  • The purpose of this study was to conduct a course entitled 'Teaching practice' applying Problem Based Learning(hereafter PBL) for perspective Home Economics teachers to explore the applicability of PBL to the course. A course entitled 'Teaching practice' was carried out for 17 undergraduate students from the 2nd of March till 11th of June in 2014. Pre- and post-tests to measure teacher disposition were performed to investigate the effectiveness of the course applying PBL. Three questions for PBL were developed, were determined after obtaining verification of the questions from 5 experts, and were used for the course entitled 'Teaching practice'; Developing teaching-learning plan, establishing plan for homeroom class management, and designing assessment of Technology & Home Economics. The processes of PBL include defining the problem, planning problem solutions, reassessing the problem, identifying possible solutions, and performance presentation. Procedures for solving one problem of PBL took 4 weeks and teacher disposition assessment for effectiveness of PBL was carried out for pre- and post tests. The reflection journal showed that even though it was their first experience of PBL, instructor's feedback, group activities, and individual activities were helpful for solving the problems of PBL. The result of dependent t-test for paired samples revealed significant differences between the pre- and post tests, which means that there was effectiveness of the course applying to PBL on teacher disposition of prospective Home Economics teachers.

The results are as follows. First, our research showed that the preferences of HE teachers with respect to curriculum perspectives were in the order of the interpretive, emancipatory, and technical perspectives. However, there was no consistency among findings in the preferences for the sub-elements of a curriculum. Second, our results indicated that HE teachers performed their role affirmatively in terms of instructional culture such as the 'cooperation between teachers', the 'class focused on student', and the 'learning materials preparation'. Third, there was a statistically significant difference in five elements such as the 'cooperation among teachers' between the HE teachers' curriculum perspectives and their instructional culture.
