  • The received signal of ICS repeater is composed of BS(Base Station) and feedback signals. In this case, if the feedback signal is not rejected, system is oscillated. we use the IF signal for rejecting the feedback signal at ICS system. In general, SAW filter is used to reject the image of If signal. the use of this filter generates the system delay problems. In this paper, instead of SAW filter we use the Hilbert transform for rejecting image signal.

Generalized Higher Order Energy Based Instantaneous Amplitude and Frequency Estimation and Their Applications to Power Disturbance Detection

  • The instantaneous amplitude (IA) based on the higher order differential energy operator is proposed. And its general form for arbitrary order is also proposed. The various definitions of the IA and the instantaneous frequency (IF) estimators are considered. The IA and IF estimators based on the energy operators need less computational cost than the conventional IF and IA estimators exploiting the Hilbert transform. The IF and IA estimators are compared in terms of the frequency and amplitude tracking accuracy of the AM-FM signals. For noiseless case, the IA and IF estimators based on the Teager-Kaiser energy operator show better tracking performance than the IF and IA estimators based on the higher energy operators. However, under noisy condition, the IF and IA estimator based on the higher order energy operators with the order 3 and 4 show better tracking than the Teager-Kaiser energy based estimators. The IF and IA estimators are applied to signals in the various power anomalies to show their usefulness as the disturbance detectors.

  • There are many increasing demands for efficient high power density of auxiliary power unit(APU) for high speed traction application. Many techniques have been proposed to measure the voltage flicker on the traditional pulse width modulation(PWM) inverter. This paper proposes a novel functionality of the static inverter on the APU to mitigate the voltage flicker and regulate the output voltage. A new control algorithm for the inverter based on the Hilbert transform(HT) is presented. The HT is employed as an effective technique for tracking the voltage flicker levels in APU systems. Simulation results are provided to verify the tracking capabilities of the HT and to evaluate the performance of the proposed DG interface for multi-function operation.

Damage progression study in fibre reinforced concrete using acoustic emission technique

  • The main objective of this study is to evaluate the true fracture energy and monitor the damage progression in steel fibre reinforced concrete (SFRC) specimens using acoustic emission (AE) features. Four point bending test is carried out using pre-notched plain and fibre reinforced (0.5% and 1% volume fraction) - concrete under monotonic loading. AE sensors are affixed at different locations of the specimens and AE parameters such as rise time, AE energy, hits, counts, amplitude and duration etc. are obtained. Using the captured and processed AE event data, fracture process zone is identified and the true fracture energy is evaluated. The AE data is also employed for tracing the damage progression in plain and fibre reinforced concrete, using both parametric- and signal- based techniques. Hilbert - Huang transform (HHT) is used in signal based processing for evaluating instantaneous frequency of the acoustic events. It is found that the appropriately processed and carefully analyzed acoustic data is capable of providing vital information on progression of damage on different types of concrete.

  • Let ${\Sigma}_k(p)$ be the class of univalent meromorphic functions defined on the unit disc ${\mathbb{D}}$ with k-quasiconformal extension to the extended complex plane ${\hat{\mathbb{C}}}$, where $0{\leq}k<1$. Let ${\Sigma}^0_k(p)$ be the class of functions $f{\in}{\Sigma}_k(p)$ having expansion of the form $f(z)=1/(z-p)+{\sum_{n=1}^{\infty}}\;b_nz^n$ on ${\mathbb{D}}$. In this article, we obtain sharp area distortion and weighted area distortion inequalities for functions in ${\sum_{k}^{0}}(p)$. As a consequence of the obtained results, we present a sharp upper bound for the Hilbert transform of characteristic function of a Lebesgue measurable subset of ${\mathbb{D}}$.

Detection of nonlinear structural behavior using time-frequency and multivariate analysis

  • Most of the practical engineering structures exhibit nonlinearity due to nonlinear dynamic characteristics of structural joints, nonlinear boundary conditions and nonlinear material properties. Hence, it is highly desirable to detect and characterize the nonlinearity present in the system in order to assess the true behaviour of the structural system. Further, these identified nonlinear features can be effectively used for damage diagnosis during structural health monitoring. In this paper, we focus on the detection of the nonlinearity present in the system by confining our discussion to only a few selective time-frequency analysis and multivariate analysis based techniques. Both damage induced nonlinearity and inherent structural nonlinearity in healthy systems are considered. The strengths and weakness of various techniques for nonlinear detection are investigated through numerically simulated two different classes of nonlinear problems. These numerical results are complemented with the experimental data to demonstrate its suitability to the practical problems.

  • Let Mα be a bilinear fractional maximal operator and BMα be a fractional maximal operator associated with the bilinear Hilbert transform. In this paper, the compactness on weighted Lebesgue spaces are considered for commutators of bilinear fractional maximal operators; these commutators include the fractional maximal linear commutators Mjα,β and BMjα,β (j = 1, 2), the fractional maximal iterated commutator ${\mathcal{M}}_{{\alpha},{\vec{b}}}$, and $BM_{{\alpha},{\vec{b}}}$, where b ∈ BMO(ℝd) and ${\vec{b}}\;=\;(b_1,b_2)\;{\in}\;BMO({\mathbb{R}}^d)\;{\times}\;BMO({\mathbb{R}}^d)$. In particular, we improve the well-known results to a larger scale for 1/2 < q < ∞ and give positive answers to the questions in [2].

SZEGÖ PROJECTIONS FOR HARDY SPACES IN QUATERNIONIC CLIFFORD ANALYSIS

  • In this paper we study Szegö kernel projections for Hardy spaces in quaternionic Clifford analysis. At first we introduce the matrix Szegö projection operator for the Hardy space of quaternionic Hermitean monogenic functions by the characterization of the matrix Hilbert transform in the quaternionic Clifford analysis. Then we establish the Kerzman-Stein formula which closely connects the matrix Szegö projection operator with the Hardy projection operator onto the Hardy space, and we get the matrix Szegö projection operator in terms of the Hardy projection operator and its adjoint. At last, we construct the explicit matrix Szegö kernel function for the Hardy space on the sphere as an example, and get the solution to a Diriclet boundary value problem for matrix functions.

개선된 선형예측 잔여를 이용한 음성의 잔향음 제거 (Speech Dereverberation using Improved Linear Prediction Residual)

  • 배경 잡음과 실내 잔향음은 음성 인식 시스템 성능 저하의 주요 이유이다. 많은 알고리즘이 음성의 잔향음 제거를 위해 개발되었다. 이 논문에서는 실내 환경에서 수정된 선형 예측 잔여(Linear Prediction Residual)를 이용하여 음질 개선을 위한 잔향음 제거 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 잔향음 제거 방법은 음성에서 성문 경계의 순간에 발생한 성도(聲道)시스템의 중요한 여기에 기반한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 방법은 3개의 센서로부터 수집한 반향신호로 각 센서에서의 시간지연 정보를 사용한다. 새로운 선형 예측 잔여신호는 선형 예측 잔여의 가중치와 힐버트 변환으로 얻은, 개선된 선형 예측 잔여 조합을 사용한다. 코히런트하게 더해진 힐버트 포락선의 특징은 잡음과 반사로 인한 큰 진폭 피크를 가지는 것이다. 깨끗한 음성의 잔여는 개선된 음성을 얻는 시변전극 필터를 일으키는데 사용된다. 본 논문에서는 반향 환경에서 성능 분석을 위해 제안된 알고리즘의 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 제안된 알고리즘은 실내 잔향환경에서 기존의 알고리즘에 비해 반사된 음성의 품질 향상의 결과를 보였다.

GPR 분석을 위한 자갈궤도 자갈의 감쇄특성을 이용한 이득함수 개발 (New Gain Function Based on Attenuation Characteristics of Ballast Track for GPR Analysis)

  • 자갈궤도는 100여년 이상 전세계적으로 널리 사용되는 궤도구조로 저렴한 초기 건설비용, 유연한 유지보수와 진동 및 소음의 저감효과가 있지만, 열차운행에 따라서 지속적인 침하가 발생하는 단점이 있다. 이로 인해 지속적인 유지보수가 필요하며, 최근 열차의 속도, 용량, 중량의 증가로 유지보수비용이 증가하고 있는 실정이다. 파울링(fouling)은 노반 세립분이나 자갈입자가 파쇄되면서 발생한 세립분이 자갈 사이의 공극을 메우는 현상으로 배수가 나빠지고, 자갈궤도의 침하를 가속화시키는 등 자갈도상의 열화의 주원인으로 지목되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 GPR(Ground Penetrating Radar)을 이용하여, 도상의 상태를 평가 할 수 있는 분석방법을 제안하였다. 경험에 의존하는 기존의 분석기법을 대신하여, 고속선에 사용되는 자갈의 감쇠 특성을 반영한 이득함수(gain function)를 제안하였다. 실내 박스 실험과 실모형 실험을 통해 제안한 이득함수로 증폭한 GPR신호에 힐버트 변환을 추가로 적용하여 자갈층과 노반층에서 반사된 신호의 세기변화를 깊이에 따라 계산하였다. 이로부터 신호의 세기가 비교적 크게 변화하는 곳을 파울링층과 노반층의 경계로 구분할 수 있었다. 다만 현장적용을 위해서는 침목의 영향을 분리하고 전자기파 분산특성 등에 대한 추가 연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다.
