장기간의 로봇활용교육이 초등학생의 창의성에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of a Long Term Robot Based Instruction on the Creativity of Elementary Students)

  • 본 연구는 장기간에 걸친 로봇활용교육이 학생들의 창의성에 어떠한 효과를 미치는지를 밝히는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 2011년부터 2012년까지 로봇활용교육 연구학교로 지정된 초등학교의 237명 학생을 대상으로 2차에 걸친 창의성 검사를 실시하였다. 검사 결과를 바탕으로 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 장기간 동안 로봇활용교육에 참여한 학생들의 창의성은 유의미하게 향상되었고, 특히 1차 검사 점수와 유의미한 향상이 나타났다. 둘째, 창의성 하위요인 중 유창성과 독창성이 유의미하게 향상되었고, 1차 검사 이전에 유의미한 향상이 나타났다. 셋째, 남학생과 여학생 모두 창의성이 유의미하게 향상되었고, 검사 시기와 성별 간의 상호작용은 유의미하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 초등학교 저 중 고학년 모두 창의성이 유의미하게 향상되었고, 검사 시기와 학년군 간의 상호작용은 유의미하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 학년군에 따른 창의성 향상에 대한 차이를 살펴본 결과, 고학년과 중 저학년 간에는 유의미한 차이가 나타났다.

에너지 캠페인 환경교육이 초등학생의 환경친화적 태도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the Energy Campaign Environmental Education on Pro-Environmental Attitudes of Elementary School Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of the energy campaign environmental education of 3rd graders in elementary school in Seoul. The students were divided into an experiment group and a control group. A reconstructed questionnaire through Kim(2005) and Lee(2005)'s test tool was used to survey the effects of applying the energy campaign environmental education program. The i-STATistics program was used to analyze the results. The major results of this study are as follows. First, the researcher was able to develop and apply teaching-learning model for energy campaign environmental education by extracting and recreating the energy education-related contents from the lower grades(1, 2, 3 grade) in 2007 elementary school curriculum. Second, this program had a positive effect on pro-environmental altitudes of elementary school students. Third, this program had a positive correlation among the 3 subdomains of cognitive, affective and behavioral. Fourth, according to qualitative analysis, the students appear to be more concerned in the overall environmental problems containing energy problem and showed a higher will to act while participating in the environmental education through energy campaign program. In conclusion, this program is more directly effective than lectures on energy following the curriculum to improve student's pro-environmental altitudes. Therefore, more intensive research on teaching and learning activities should be highly considered.

초등학교 고학년용 영양교육 소책자 개발 및 효과 분석 - 하루 필요 식품군 단위수 교육을 중심으로 - (Development and Effects' Analysis of Nutrition Education Pamphlet for the Higherr Grades Elementary Students -Focused on Individual Daily Needed Food Exchange Units-)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate effects of a nutrition education focused on Food Exchange System for the higher grades elementary children. Nutrition education lessons (40 min/lesson, 4 times), '5 major nutrients and functions', '6 food groups', 'daily needed energy and food exchange units', 'good choice of snacks and balanced exercise' were provided to elementary students (5th grade students). This research was based on the data from two groups of elementary school children in the 'education' group (n = 31) and 'non-education' group (n = 31). We assessed the changes in dietary attitude, food habit and nutrition knowledge using questionnaire and nutrient intake using 24hr recall method by nutrition education using the developed pamphlet. After education, there was a significant difference in the dietary attitude score only in attitude of 'balanced meal' (p < 0.001) in the education group compared to the non-education group. In food habit, there were significant positive changes in the type of breakfast and in the priority of choosing snack in the educated group. In nutrition knowledge, there were significant increases in scores of 'function of carbohydrate' (p < 0.05), 'function of fat' (p < 0.01), 'function of vitamin' (p < 0.01), 'foods of carbohydrate' (p < 0.01), and 'foods of vitamin' (p < 0.01) in the educated group. After education, carbohydrate: protein: fat (CPF) ratio was significantly different between the two groups (education group, 59 : 16 : 26 vs. non-education group, 63 : 15 : 23). In evaluation of nutrient intake by Dietary Reference Intakes for Koreans (KDRIs), there were significant positive effects in energy (p < 0.05), thiamin (p < 0.05), riboflavin (p < 0.05), vitamin C (p < 0.05), phosphorus (p < 0.01), Fe (p < 0.01) and zinc (p < 0.01) in the education group compared to the non-education group. In conclusion, the developed 4 times' nutritional education pamphlet focused on individual daily energy requirements and food exchange units using food exchange system for higher grades' elementary student may positively change nutrition knowledge and dietary intakes.

환경에 대한 연상 단어와 그리기 활동을 통해 나타난 초등학생의 환경인식 및 거주 지역, 학년 간의 비교 (Elementary Students' Environmental Perception according to Residence and Grade Appeared through Drawing Activities and Associated Words about Environment)

  • The aims of this study are to investigate the environmental perception of elementary school students through picture drawing and associated words about environment, and analyze whether there are differences in the environmental perception according to living places and grades. The drawing of 230 students are analysed and categorized into the criteria. The results are as follows: a number of students realized as images associated with natural environment for words related to environment. In the pictures of the 'positive environment', expression frequencies of natural environment and living things were higher than ones of artificial environment and non-living things. On the other hand, there were many pictures expressed as pollutions of waste, air and water in the pictures of the 'negative environment'. Comparison of environmental perception between rural and urban students showed a significant difference all in the two criteria. There was, however, no difference in the environmental perception between grades. Therefore, it is suggested that student's minds about the sentimental situation can be studied and they can be guided in positive directions to lead their future life in environment-friendly education rather than pollution education.

초등학생들이 프로그래밍 학습 시 발생하는 오류유형 분석 (Analysis of Error Types occurring on Elementary School Student's Programming Learning)

  • 인지능력이 뛰어난 초등학교 고학년에는 컴퓨터 활용교육 보다 컴퓨터 기초원리 또는 프로그래밍교육이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 재량 특별활동시간 혹은 방과 후 특기적성시간에 고학년(4,5,6학년)을 대상으로 프로그래밍교육 시 발생 가능한 문제점들을 미리 예측하고 대처하는 방법으로 초등학생들이 프로그램 작성 및 실행과정에서 발생하는 모든 오류들을 수집한 후 이를 유형별로 분류하고 분석하였다. 분석된 오류들을 활용하면 최적의 프로그래밍 교육과정을 작성할 수 있으며 이를 기초로 교수 학습 시 학습효과와 흥미도 유발에 큰 도움을 줄 수 있다. 본 연구에서 수집한 오류들의 분석에서는 초등학생들이 프로그래밍 시 어려워하는 영역들은 소프트웨어 사용미숙으로 인한 단순오류, 영어로 된 예약어 사용미숙 등으로 인한 단순코딩이 가장 많았으며 다음으로 문법 이해의 어려움으로 발생하는 오류들이 가장 많았다. 이러한 오류의 유형들은 상업용 소프트웨어개발 업체에서 분석된 오류의 유형과 반대 현상으로 나타났으나 점차 교수 학습이 향상되면 같은 현상으로 바람직하게 나타날 것으로 예측된다.

초, 중, 고등학생의 성지식에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Influencing Factors on Sexual Knowledge among Elementary, Middle, and High School Students)

  • Purpose: This study investigated sexual knowledge, its related factors, and the needs of sex education among elementary, middle, and high school students in order to develop a sex education program. Method: The participants comprised 721 students in grades 5 through 12, from Seoul and the Kyeonggi-do area, in South Korea. Data was collected from the end of August through the end of September 2014, using an anonymous self-administered questionnaire. SPSS Statistics 21.0 was used for the descriptive analysis, chi-square, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regressions. Results: Higher-grade students had a higher level of sexual knowledge than lower-grade students, but the overall level of sexual knowledge was low. Multivariate analysis showed that gender, grade, school record, and experiences of sex education from family and school were significant predictors of sexual knowledge among adolescents. Coping skills related to sexual crisis situations was the most wanted content of sex education. Conclusion: The results of this study suggested that it is important to develop a sex education program that considers the needs of sex education among adolescents. Also, it is important to periodically perform a survey to identify the need of sex education among elementary, middle, and high school students.

초등학교 온라인 영어 학습 콘텐츠 유형별 효과성 (The Effectiveness of online English Learning Program Contents for Elementary School Students)

  • 본 연구는 초등학교 학생들이 학습하는 온라인 영어 학습 프로그램 콘텐츠의 효과성을 탐색하였다. 온라인 영어 학습 콘텐츠 연구를 위해 경기도교육청에 의해 학교로 사용권장된 프로그램을 사용하였다. 연구대상은 경기도 K 시 소재 P 초등학교 107명의 학생들로 약 1년간의 학습 후에 온라인 학습 콘텐츠 효과성에 관한 설문에 응답하였다. 학생들의 응답은 Spearman 상관분석방법으로 재학학년, 온라인 학습시간 및 진단평가 성적과 온라인 영어 학습 프로그램 콘텐츠 간의 연관성을 분석하였다. 분석한 결과, 학년이 높고 영어 학업수준이 높은 학생일수록 문제해결형, 과제수행형과 WBI(웹기반)형의 콘텐츠는 효과적이지 않다고 생각하는 것으로 드러났다. 반면에, 온라인 학습시간이 긴 저학년학생일수록 개인 지도형, 스토리활용형과 애니메이션유형의 온라인 학습 콘텐츠가 효과적이라고 답했다. 따라서 본 연구는 온라인 영어 학습 콘텐츠의 개발에 있어서, 학생의 학년과 학습시간, 학업수준 등과 같은 학생의 특성을 고려할 필요가 있음을 제언하는 바이다.

초등학교 학생이 바라본 영어교육 실태 분석 (An analysis of elementary school English education: From students' perspective)

  • English has been taught as a compulsory subject at elementary schools since 1997 starting with third graders, to sixth graders. We have seen active research on teaching methods for elementary English, but little has been done from the learners' perspective. It is very proper time for English educators to review what the elementary students think about their English classes. The purpose of the present study is as following. First, we tried to find out how the students' attitude toward and interest in English have changed over the four-year English education. Second we attempted to suggest the ways to promote the students' interests, and to increase understanding and participation in English classes. We also suggest that curriculum developers need to consider the students' lower interests and understanding in English classes as they move to higher grades, and that classroom teachers need to have a better understanding of what their students do and feel in the English classes.

부산지역 초등학생의 영양교육에 대한 학부모 인식 I - 인구사회학적 요인을 중심으로 - (Mothers' Perceptions on Nutrition Education for Elementary School Students in the Busan Area I - A Demographical Factor Approach -)

  • This study examined mothers' perceptions on nutrition education for elementary school students according to demographical factors. Questionnaires were distributed to the mothers of 511 elementary school students in the Busan area. According to the results, 50% of the respondents felt that the preschool years or the lower elementary grades were proper times to start nutrition education. Furthermore, they preferred school dietitians (55.4%), outside professional dietitians (16.3%), nurse teachers (13.8%), class room teachers (11.7%), and parents (2.8%) as nutrition educators. The mothers who were college and university graduates had significantly (p<0.001) higher scores regarding the necessity of nutrition education for student growth when compared to mothers who were high schools graduates. However, the high school graduates had significantly (p<0.001) higher scores than the college and university graduates with respect to nutrition education for correcting obesity. The order of importance for nutrition education curriculum content was as follows: eating habits, food safety, health and disease, maintaining ideal body weight, food waste and environment, basic food knowledge, and traditional foods. The college and university graduates, and those of 'A' group schools, had significantly (p<0.001) higher importance scores for proper eating habits. Mothers having experience with nutrition education comprised 43.9% of the subjects, and there was a significantly (p<0.05) higher percentage of employed mothers as compared to unemployed. Eighty-six percent of the respondents wanted to receive nutrition education. For more effective learning, they preferred in-person group education rather than correspondence education using e-mails or printed materials from schools.

초등학생의 보건교과 수업에 대한 인식과 만족도 (Perception and Satisfaction with Health Education of Elementary Students)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate perception and satisfaction with Health Education for elementary school students in grade 5 and 6, using data on national health education gathered since March, 2009. Methods: Data were collected by way of a questionnaire, from 475 elementary school students in grades 5 and 6 from February 1~15, 2010. Statistical analysis of collected data was performed using frequency, t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis, using SPSS 18.0 software. Result: Levels of health promoting behavior, interest, importance, and satisfaction were relatively high, respectively, and those of students in grade 5 were higher than those of students in grade 6. Levels of Satisfaction with frequency and educational environment were relatively low. Among the factors found to influence satisfaction with health education, interest in health education was found to be the most influential(grade 5:${\beta}$=.279, p<.001, grade 6:${\beta}$=.306, p<.001). Conclusion: Students expressed a high level of satisfaction with regular health education. Expansion of health education frequency and health education-only-classrooms is needed. To improve the effect of health education, constant acquisition of knowledge of subjects' perception and satisfaction is needed. In addition, contents and teaching methods that showed low level of satisfaction should be reformed.
