  • The purpose of this study was to examine how housing facilities have been progressed, how housing life has been technicalized and which factors contributed to the modernization of Korean housing in the economic development era. Review of advertising material for apartment sales in the newspaper from 1970s' to the 1990s' are mainly utilized to follow up the changes of kitchen equipment and furnitures, bathroom equipments, heating and cooking facilities and their fuel system, information and telecommunication system as well as security and intelligent system. However, high technology in apartment was a symbol of modem housing in each time. The improvement of housing facilities brought about the improvement of efficiency in household works. In other words, housing space plays as "Living Machine". And appearance of new technology systems leaded to a pluralistic activities in the home. As well as improvement on the material environments accelerated the individualization phenomena in housing space.

A Study on the Development of Design Model of Ecological Park as Stormwater Storage Facilities (저류지 생태공원 설계모형 개발에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop design model of ecological park as stormwater storage facilities. The results are as follows : First, the design model of ecological park as stormwater storage facilities consider ecological and landscape characteristics such as high efficiency of land use, function as disaster prevention, ecological water purification, formation of habitat for flora and fauna. Second, this study demonstrates two types of plane structure and eight types of designed section. They can be combined and designed depending on conditions of each site. The facilities of stormwater storage conduct disaster prevention system and ecological park. Retention pond in stormwater storage facilities for ecological park also should be made for ecological restoration in the site. Third, the ecological park provide the basis for ecological network from in-site to out-site. Therefore its conservation and restoration plan consider the ecosystems of the site. Fourth, the most important factor for maintenance and management for retention pond is keeping water quality. Sustainable Structured wetland Biotop system is suggested for ecological water purification system in the retention pond which is one of the constructed wetland system using multi-celled aquatic plant and pond. This system can also provide habitat for animals and plants, water friendly park for men, and beautiful landscape.

Smart Microvibration Control of High-Tech Industry Facilities using Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm (다목적 유전자알고리즘을 이용한 첨단기술산업 시설물의 스마트 미진동제어)

  • Reduction of microvibration is regarded as important in high-technology facilities with high precision equipments. In this paper, smart control technology is used to improve the microvibration control performance. Mr damper is used to make a smart base isolation system amd fuzzy logic control algorithm is employed to appropriately control the MR damper. In order to develop optimal fuzzy control algorithm, a multi-objective genetic algorithm is used in this study. As an excitation, a train-induced ground acceleration is used for time history analysis and three-story example building structure is employed. Microvibration control performance of passive and smart base isolation systems have been investigated in this study. Numerical simulation results show that the multi-objective genetic algorithm can provide optimal fuzzy logic controllers for smart base isolation system and the smart control system can effectively reduce microvibration of a high-technology facility subjected to train-induced excitation.

Analysis of Closed School Utilization and Activation Factors as Urban-Rural Base Space (도농공존거점공간으로의 폐교 활용방안 및 활성화 요인 분석)

  • This study attempted to suggest the factors that facilities that aim to exchange urban-rural coexistence base spaces with urban-rural areas should have. In order to derive factors, 15 literatures preceded by similar studies were investigated, and systematic classification was attempted. Finally, the factors for activating urban and rural base facilities were organized into 3 categories, 9 sectors, and 30 activation factors. The three major categories consisted of resources and facilities, content and programs, operational status. As a result of the AHP survey, in the survey area, which is a categories, resources and facilities composed of hardware factors originally possessed by the facility showed the highest score of 48.9. In the sectors, the convenience of facility use was 25.7 points, and the rich state of tangible and intangible resources was 13.3 points in order. In the sectors, income from paid experience programs at facilities was 8.3 points, physical accessibility to facilities was 8.2 points, and the type of areas where the facilities were located was 7.7 points in order. It showed high importance in the order of resources and facilities composed of hardware factors, content and programs composed of software factors, and manpower and operation composed of humanware factors. In general, it was shown that the physical factors of the place when using urban and rural base facilities were judged as the main factors.

  • Integrated Services Digital Networks (ISDNs) and Broadband ISDN provide high speed data transmission capabilities and therefore, it is now possible to communicate with multimedia information including graphic, motion image, data and audio. Among several new services utilizing multimedia communication networks, distance education service which aims to overcome time and space restrictions between teachers and learners is now heavily focused in many countries. In this paper, several factors which affect to the effectiveness of distance education are surveyed and facilities for organizing distance education classrooms which utilize high speed multimedia communication network are studied in detail. Also, some points are suggested for organizing successful distance equation system based on the multimedia communication technology.

  • The main objectives of this studies are to present the most desirable rice processing complex model system in a given our situations by comparision and analyzing the major factors and, also recommend the future prospect of the rice processing complex in Korea. There are 3 different rice processing complex models in Korea. Those are concrete bin, flat type steel bin and square bin. These systems have a lot of differences and have their own characteristics such as capital requirement, efficiency, storage capacity and quality controls. The major problems of the existing rice processing centers in Korea are high fixed cost and the unbalnced systems. Following is summary to solve this problems: 1. Development of the large scale harvester and high speed continuous dryer. 2. Quality inspective system of bulk grain and large scale temporary storage facilities. 3. Large size readjustment of arable land. 4. Select the convenient location of rice processing center and formulation of well equipment facilities.

A study on security oversight framework for Korean Nuclear Facility regulations

  • Nuclear security has been emphasized to ensure the safety of the environment and humans, as well as to protect nuclear materials and facilities from malicious attacks. With increasing utilization of nuclear energy and emerging potential threats, there has been a renewed focus on nuclear security. Korea has made efforts to enhance the regulatory oversight processes, both for general and specific legislative systems. While Korea has demonstrated effective nuclear security activities, continuous efforts are necessary to maintain a high level of security and to improve regulatory efficiency in alignment with international standards. In this study, the comprehensive regulatory oversight framework for the security of Korean nuclear facilities has been investigated. For reference, the U.S. regulatory oversight frameworks for nuclear facilities, with a focus on nuclear security, and the motivations of changes in regulatory oversight framework have been identified. By comparing these regulatory programs and frameworks, insights and considerations for enhancing nuclear security regulations have been identified. A comprehensive security inspection program tailored for the Korean regulatory oversight framework has been proposed, and has been preliminarily applied to hypothetical conditions for further discussion.

A Study on the Development of a Transient Voltage Blocking Device for Info-communication Facilities (정보통신기기용 과도전압 차단장치의 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents a new transient voltage blocking device(TOBD)which low power and high frequency bandwidth to protect info-communication facilities from transient voltages. Conventional protection devices have some problems such as low frequency bandwidth low ener-gy capacity and high remnant voltage. in order to improve these limitations a hybrid type TOBD which consists of a gas tube avalanche diodes and junction type field effect transistor (JFETs) is developed. The TOBD differs from the conventional protection devices in configuration and JFETs are used as an active non-linear element and a high speed switching diode with low capacitance limited high current. Therefore the avalanche diode with low energy capacity are protected from the high current and the TOBD has a very small input capacitance. From the performance test using combination surge generator which can produce $1.2/50{\mu}m$ 4.2 kV/max, $8/20{\mu}m$ 2.1 kAmax it is confirmed that the proposed TOBD has an excellent protection per-formance in tight clamping voltage and limiting current characteristics.

  • Car-mounted MMS (Mobile Mapping System) is the most effective tool for mapping of high definition road maps(HD Map). The MMS is composed of various sensor combinations, and the manufacturing methods and processing software are different for each manufacturer, performance cannot be predicted only by the specifications of the parts. Therefore, it is necessary to judge whether each equipment is suitable for mapping through performance evaluation, and facilities for periodic performance evaluation. In this paper, we explained the MMS performance evaluation facilities built at the SOC Evaluation Research Center of Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology and analyzed the conditions that the evaluation facilities should have through a literature survey and field tests.

Review about the Lightning Protection System for Ground Facilities of Anti-aircraft Weapons System (뇌 보호시스템의 대공무기체계 지상시설 적용에 대한 고찰)

  • Recently, the incidence of lightning in Korea has been increasing more and more. The damage caused by lightning is also getting worse. Lightning protection system is a prerequisite, not a sufficient condition. Considering the characteristics of lightning, there is a high frequency of lightning strikes in highlands. So, high grades of LPS should be applied to ground facilities of anti-aircraft weapons systems. 4-Level LPS was applied on groung facilities of anti-aircraft weapons system based on lightning incidence rate in past. There are some possibilities of damage from lightning in anti-aircraft weapons system. So, we have to readjust the LPS level with grounding, lightning rods and surge protect device based on lightning incidence rate in now days. Propose 2-level LPS and design with lightning rods, surge protector, separated grounding in this paper.
