A Study on the Analysis of Disaster Safety Lexicon Patterns in Social Media (소셜미디어를 통해 본 재난안전 분야 어휘 사용 양상 분석)

  • Standardization of disaster safety lexicon is important as the most basic process for successful accident prevention and response. A lack of understanding of disaster safety lexicon leads lack of communication and information sharing, which can be a problem in communicating with appropriate responses in case of a disaster. Currently disaster and safety control agencies produce and manage heterogeneous information and they also develop and use word dictionaries individually. To solve this problem, identifying differences of disaster safety lexicon patterns by the user are essential for standardization. In this paper, we conducted lexicon patterns analysis based on social media and revealed the characteristics according to pattern types. At the result, we proposed the standardization and construction methods of disaster safety word dictionary.

Design and Implementation of a CORBA/JMF-based Audio/Video Stream System (CORBA/JMF 기반 오디오/비디오 스트림 시스템의 설계 및 구현)

  • Recently advances in high-speed networks and multimedia computer technologies allow new types of multimedia applications to manipulate large volumes of multimedia data. However, in the real time and/or the heterogeneous data transmissions, there are many difficulties such as network transmission delay, the implementation difficulties, and so on. To solve these problems, in this paper, we extend the method of the multimedia service design which is proposed by OMG. To do this, we suggest an efficient real time audio/video stream framework, called Smart Explorer, based un CORBA and JMF Java Media API. And we separate the transmission path of control data from that of media data and use RTP/RTCP protocol for efficient real time audio/video transmission. Also we show the appropriate implementation of the audio/video stream system based on our suggested framework Smart Explorer. In the future, we expect our audio/video stream system to be applied to the real time communication software such as broadcasting, distance learning, and video conferencing.

Influence of Surfactants on Bacterial Adhesion to Metal Oxide-Coated Surfaces

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the bacterial adhesion to iron (hydr)oxide-coated sand (IHCS) and aluminum oxidecoated sand (AOCS) in the presence of Tween 20 (nonionic surfactant) and lipopeptide biosurfactant (anionic surfactant) through column experiments. Results show that in the presence of Tween 20, bacterial adhesion to the coated sands was slightly decreased compared to the condition of deionized water; the mass recovery (Mr) increased from 0.491 to 0.550 in IHCS and from 0.279 to 0.380 in AOCS. The bacterial adhesion to the coated sands was greatly reduced in lipopeptide biosurfactant; Mr increased to 0.980 in IHCS and to 0.797 in AOCS. Results indicate that the impact of lipopeptide biosurfactant on bacterial adhesion to metal oxide-coated sands was significantly greater than that of Tween 20. Our results differed from those of the previous report, showing that Tween 20 was the most effective while the biosurfactant was the least effective in the reduction of bacterial adhesion to porous media. This discrepancy could be ascribed to the different surface charges of porous media used in the experiments. This study indicates that lipopeptide biosurfactant can play an important role in enhancing the bacterial transport in geochemically heterogeneous porous media.

Implementation of Service Architecture for Hierarchical UHD Broadcasting over Heterogeneous Networks (이기종망에서 계층 부호화된 UHD 방송을 위한 서비스 아키텍처 구현)

  • Due to the diversity of device performances and the possibility of providing multimedia service through many networks, media consumption environment has been changed in various ways. In recent, mobile services and broadcasting services started to provided through IP network. According to this flow changes, there was great demand for various multimedia services through heterogenous networks. To solve this problem, MMT was suggested as a standard of multimedia transport which replaces MPEG-2 TS(Transport Stream) which is used for HD(High Definition) transport. MMT can be provided various broadcasting based on IP through terrestrial, satellite, cable broadcasting networks, and also deliver multimedia through many networks at the same time. MMT was risen as a method of servicing UHD broadcasting. In this paper, we present an implementation of service architecture for hierarchical UHD broadcasting over heterogenous networks using MMT.

  • Recently, broadcasting technologies have evolved as high-quality AV services such as domestic terrestrial UHD(Ultra-High Definition) broadcasting have been increasing, and broadcasting standards have been newly defined. Also, as network technology develops, contents are consumed not only in the country but also the world. Accordingly, content insertion technology, which is a method of providing suitable contents in accordance with the national and local environments, will be needed. This paper proposes a content insertion service system model and synchronization scheme using ATSC(Advanced Television Systems Committee) 3.0 Event Signaling standard under heterogeneous network environment of broadcasting network and internet network based on transmission standard DASH(Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP)/ROUTE(Real time Object delivery Over Unidirectional Transport) and MMT(MPEG Media Transport) of terrestrial UHD broadcasting. It also verifies that the service operates in an environment that meets the broadcast standard.

Energy-efficient Positioning of Cluster Heads in Wireless Sensor Networks

  • As one of the most important requirements for wireless sensor networks, prolonging network lifetime can be realized by minimizing energy consumption in cluster heads as well as sensor nodes. While most of the previous researches have focused on the energy of sensor nodes, we devote our attention to cluster heads because they are most dominant source of power consumption in the cluster-based sensor networks. Therefore, we seek to minimize energy consumption by minimizing the maximum(MINMAX) energy dissipation at each cluster heads. This work requires energy-efficient clustering of the sensor nodes while satisfying given energy constraints. In this paper, we present a constraint satisfaction modeling of cluster-based routing in a heterogeneous sensor networks because mixed integer programming cannot provide solutions to this MINMAX problem. Computational experiments show that substantial energy savings can be obtained with the MINMAX algorithm in comparison with a minimum total energy(MTE) strategy.

  • 동시 지원 사용자 수를 최대 목표로 하는 VOD와 같은 연속 매체 서버는 증가하는 사용자의 요구를 만족시키기 위해 디스크의 추가가 필요하다. 디스크 제조 기술의 급속한 발전으로 새로이 추가되는 디스크들을 이전의 디스크에 비해 저장용량과 전송 능력면에서 더 좋은 성능을 가진다. 그러나 이전의 저장 기법들은 각 디스크들의 성능차를 무시하고, 일률적인 분산 배치의 방법을 사용하였다. 또한, 디스크들간의 이질적인 환경을 고려한 다른 연구에서도 현재 주종을 이루고 있는 MZR(Multi Zoned Recording) 방식의 디스크들에 대한 고려가 부족한 게 현실이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 이질적인 디스크간의 성능차와 MZR디스크의 특성을 고려한 ZBSR( Zone Bandwidth to Space Ration)를 사용한 배치 기법으로 디스크 자원을 효율적 사용하는 방법을 제시한다.

  • 현재의 멀티미디어 서비스는 기존의 텍스트 위주의 사용자 환경에서 벗어나 오디오, 비디오뿐만 아닌 이미지, 그래픽, 텍스트 및 미디어 관련 정보 등의 다양한 데이터를 포함하는 멀티미디어 서비스 환경으로 변화하고 있다. 이러한 멀티미디어 서비스는 과거 TV와 컴퓨터 등 한정된 기기에서만 제공되었지만, 최근 휴대폰, MP3 플레이어, PMP 등 미디어 기기의 발전에 따라, 다양한 단말을 대상으로 서비스를 확장하고 있다. 이러한 멀티미디어 서비스를 다양한 단말을 대상으로 제공하기 위하여, 기존의 기술에서는 동일한 콘텐츠를 각각의 단말의 환경에 따라 서로 다른 서비스를 통해 제공하였다. 그러나 IPTV와 홈 네트워크 시스템 등 방송과 통신이 융합되고, 유선과 무선 간에 자유롭게 데이터를 주고받는 환경에서 단말 마다 서로 다른 서비스를 제공하는 것은 서비스 시나리오의 복잡도를 높이고, 다양한 단말을 사용하는 사용자에게 통합되지 않은 서비스를 제공 받게 되는 결과를 가져오게 된다. 이에 본 논문에서는 콘텐츠의 메타데이터를 활용하여 동일한 멀티미디어 서비스를 단말기의 다양한 환경에 따라 맞춤형 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 방법인 적응적 장면 기술을 제시하고, 그 효율성에 관하여 검증한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 불균질 재료의 균열진전을 해석하기 위한 방법으로 변절점 유한요소를 이용한 멀티스케일 기법을 제시하였다. 효율적인 해석을 위하여 서로 다른 스케일의 요소망을 적용하여 전체 모델의 자유도를 감소시킨다. 균열선단과 비교적 멀리 떨어져 있는 영역은 균질화 기법을 도입하여 불균질 재료에 대한 등가물성을 갖는 성긴 요소망으로 대체하고, 균열선단 주변의 요소망은 재료의 기하학적 특성과 불균질성을 반영하도록 조밀하게 구성한다. 한편 균열선단에 존재하는 응력 특이성을 표현하기 위하여 균열선단을 포함한 요소를 더욱 조밀한 요소망으로 분할하여 구성한다. 여기에서 서로 다른 스케일의 요소망 경계에는 변절점 유한요소를 적용함으로써 경계에서의 절점 연결조건과 적합성을 만족시킬 수 있다. 제시한 멀티스케일 기법을 수치예제에 적용함으로써 정확성과 효율성을 검증하였으며, 특히 불균질 성분이 균열진전에 미치는 영향을 경계조건과 T-응력의 관점에서 분석하였다.

Analysis of flow through dam foundation by FEM and ANN models Case study: Shahid Abbaspour Dam

  • Three-dimensional simulation of flow through dam foundation is performed using finite element (Seep3D model) and artificial neural network (ANN) models. The governing and discretized equation for seepage is obtained using the Galerkin method in heterogeneous and anisotropic porous media. The ANN is a feedforward four layer network employing the sigmoid function as an activator and the back-propagation algorithm for the network learning, using the water level elevations of the upstream and downstream of the dam, as input variables and the piezometric heads as the target outputs. The obtained results are compared with the piezometric data of Shahid Abbaspour's Dam. Both calculated data show a good agreement with available measurements that demonstrate the effectiveness and accuracy of purposed methods.
