  • One of the most challenging issues facing shallow seismic survey is how to generate large amplitude of high frequency signal with small seismic sources. We tested the performance of the most commonly used shallow seismic source, hammer, with four plates: PE, nylon, aluminum, and steel plates. We compared their signal powers in terms of impulsive forces, accelerations, and ground vibration velocities caused by hammer impacts. According to a previous work, hammer blowing to an aluminum plate would generate the largest amplitude among four combinations. However, it was found in this experimental research that aluminum plate delivers seismic wave energy to the ground less than that generated with steel or PE plate. Even though the amplitude is relatively small, plastic plates could provide seismic pulses of 180 ~ 200 Hz in the bandwidth, and it seems to be very hard to generate seismic energy over the frequency of 250 Hz.

  • Sustained economic development around the world is accelerating resource depletion. Research and development of secondary batteries that can replace them is also being actively conducted. Secondary batteries are emerging as a key technology for carbon neutrality. The core of an electric vehicle is the battery (secondary battery). Therefore, in this study, the temperature change by the heat source of the hammer and the rotational speed (rpm) of the abrasive disc of the Classifier Separator Mill (CSM) was repeatedly calculated and analyzed using the heat flow simulation STAR-CCM+. As the rotational speed (rpm) of the abrasive disk increases, the convergence condition of the iteration increases. Under the condition that the inlet speed of the Classifier Separator Mill (CSM) and the heat source value of the disc hammer are the same, the disc rotation speed (rpm) and the hammer temperature are inversely proportional. As the rotational speed (rpm) of the disc increases, the hammer temperature decreases. However, since the wear rate of the secondary battery material increases due to the strong impact of the crushing rotational force, it is determined that an appropriate rpm setting is necessary. In CSM (Classifier Separator Mill), it is judged that the flow rate difference is not significantly different in the direction of the pressure outlet (Outlet 1) right above the classifier wheel with the fastest flow rate. Because the disc and hammer attachment technology is adhesive, the attachment point may deform when the temperature of the hammer rises. Therefore, it is considered necessary to develop high-performance adhesives and other adhesive technologies.

  • Nondestructive evaluation (NDE) technique method using a resonance frequency mode was carried out for heat-treated wood under different conditions. The effect of heat treatment on the bending strength and NDE technique using the resonance frequency by impact hammer and force transducer mode for Korean paulownia, Pinus densiflora, Lidiodendron tulipifera and Betula costata were measured. The heat treatment temperature has been investigated at $175^{\circ}C$ and $200^{\circ}C$, respectively. There were a close relationship of dynamic modulus of elasticity and static bending modulus of elasticity to MOR. In all conditions, It was found that there were a high correlation at 1% level between dynamic modulus of elasticity and MOR, and static modulus of elasticity and MOR. However, the result indicated that correlation coefficient is higher in dynamic modulus of elasticity to MOR than that in static modulus of elasticity to MOR. Therefore, the dynamic modulus of elasticity using resonance frequency by impact hammer mode is more useful as a nondestructive evaluation method for predicting the MOR of heat-treated wood under different temperature and species conditions.

  • This paper suggests the 2 D.O.F mathematical model of the High Frequency Vibro-Hammer (HFVH), introduces an experimental method for measuring of the attenuation of piling vibration and proves what experiments are coincident with the equation of wave propagation. As vibratory installation of piles and casings has many economic merits in the construction field, most of all contractors prefer to vibratory pile driving method than the other. Compared to impact pile driving, vibratory installation has the advantage of reducing vibration or noise pollution and can drive piles under high frequency. Experiments serve estimations of capabilities and limitations of the HFVH's excitation force and finding of sensitivity for important soil resistance parameters. Also, we discuss the HFVH that can drive with three kinds of input waves (triangular, sine and square wave) and propose the design of parameters to improve actuating performance in it.

  • It is well known that the standard penetration test (SPT) has been used in all over the world to get geotechnical properties of the ground. However, it is difficult to apply the SPT to the dense sand, gravel, weathered rock, etc. For the application of the SPT in these grounds, it is necessary to change in the diameter and the impact energy of the SPT. For the improvement of site investigation technology, Large Penetration Testing device (KICT-type LPT) was developed and applied to the in situ condition. The drop height and weight of the hammer in developed system were decided as 760 mm and 150 kg, respectively. Semi-auto hammer drop system identical with KS F2307 and JI A1259S was adopted. And the developed sampler has the inner diameter of 63 mm and the length of 500 mm with the adjustment of energy ratio to the SPT of 1.5. The hammer energy level was measured during the performance of the KICT-type LPT using SPI system (quality control system from driven piles).

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the kinematic factors and throwing variables for the 3-turn and 4-turn techniques and for release as well as to provide technical advice for improving athletic performance in hammer throwing. Data analysis led to the following conclusions: To increase the rotation speed for the 3-turn and 4-turn techniques, the time elapsed during the 1-foot support period should be decreased the distance between the rotating foot and the rotation axis should be small and the height of the hip joint should be increased at the times of release The throwing angle at the moment of release should be more than 40 degrees, and the throwing position should be taken vertically high at the shoulder joints. To accelerate the motion of the hammer, the speed should not be reduced during the 1-foot support period but should be increased during the 2-foot support period for much greater acceleration. In the 3-turn technique, the angles of the shoulder axis and hummer string should be dragged angle at the maximum point and lead angle at the minimum point, and dragged angle at the maximum and minimum points in the 4-turn at the time of relase The upper body should be quickly bent backward, the knee angle should be extended, and the angles of the shoulder axis and hammer string should be dragged angle close to 90 degrees.

  • Pile driving technique has been regarded as the most reliable way of constructing deep foundations. Engineers have long believed that the quality of the installed piles is a simple function of the set values which can easily be obtained from the field pile driving records. Consequently most of the local building codes are based on the dynamic formula. However it has been proven that the quality of the driven pile is influenced not only by the set values but also by various factors, such as hammer performance, helmet characteristics, time dependent geotechnical characteristics of the site, etc., from the results of various researches made during the last two decades. In this paper an appropriate quality control scheme has been proposed by taking various influencing factors into consideration.

  • The present investigation examined hammering performance, physiological response, preceived exertion, and user preference with regard to hammering in vertical (wall) and horizontal (bench) orientations, and with regard to using two different hammers. Ten male subjects participated in the experiment. The results support previous findings that horizontally oriented hammering is faster than vertically oriented hammering. In addition, the results suggest that hammer differences can affect hammering performance and perceived exertion; although, the exact contributions of specific design characteristics could not be quantitatively determined. However, participants subjectively identified handle design, weight, and mass distribution as critical factors.

  • When the fluid energy convert into kinetic energy due to water hammer, the propagation velocity of pressure wave appear. The propagation velocity of pressure wave(1050 m/s) of very fast could be damage to the pipeline system. If the occurrence of water hammer is due to down-pressure, the faster the air exhaust or supply device is needed. it is high Speed Air Valve. In this paper, Each 3.12, 3.13, 3.72, $3.74kg/cm^2$ pipeline pressure were setting, and then executed pressure rapid drop for obtaining a high Speed Air Valve Operating time and pressure change data. the result was that pipe line pressure stabilization time were each 0.98, 1, 1.22, 1.25 sec. In other words, that pressure drop experimental results pipe line pressure was equal to atmospheric pressure without negative pressure After about one second. The study result would be useful to pipe line system stability design because this data could be foresee pressure stabilization time.
