Hepatic coccidiosis was occurred in a rabbit farm in Chonbuk province. Clinically, rabbits showed anorexia, diarrhea, dehydration, and depression, subsequently died 3 - 5 days after onset of clinical signs. Grossly, multifocal white spots or lines on the liver suface were observed. Histopathologic lesions included hyperplasia of bile duct epithelium with infiltration of inflammatory cells such as plasma cells and granulocytes, which represents chronic pericholangitis. Different developmental stages of Eimeria stiedae were observed inside the epithelium of biliary system. This is the case of hepatic coccidiosis in rabbits.
To investigate what kinds effect arsenic exert on the proliferation and differentiation of bone marrow cells to the neutrophilic granulocytes lineage cells, we treated sodium arsenite to murine bone marrow cells without or with the stimulation of G-CSF. When we added the various concentrations oj sodium arsenite to bone marrow cells without the stimulation of G-CSF for I, 3, 5 or 7 days, sodium arsenite did not make an any effect up to 2.5 $\mu\textrm{M}$$\mu\textrm{M}$$\mu\textrm{M}$$\mu\textrm{M}$$\mu\textrm{M}$$m\ell$ of G-CSF was induced by the co treatment of 12.5 $\mu\textrm{M}$
In this study, we used electron microscopic analysis to characterize the hemocytes in the last larva of Protaetia brevitarsis seulensis (Colbe) (Cetoniidae, Coleoptera). Granulocytes (GR), plasmatocytes (PL), oenocytoids (OE), spherulocytes (SP), prohemocytes (PR) and adipohemocytes (AD) were classified based on their size and ultrastructural differences in the circulating hemocytes. Many dark granules (<$1{\mu}m$ in diameter) in the GR's cytoplasm were observed and well-developed mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum (ER), nucleus, and Golgi complex were also seen. After microorganisms infected, the GRs were morphologically activated and phagocytosed them. Especially, dark granules (lysosomes) were fused themselves and these bigger granules finally agglomerate together with microorganisms. Other hemocytes seem to have no immune functions.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of hemocytes in the hemolymph of the larvae of Pentodon quadridens bidentulus and the characteristics of the hemocytes responsible for cellular immunity during pathogen infection. Granulocytes, plasmatocytes, oenocytoids, spherulocytes, prohemocytes and adipohemocytes were found in the circulating hemocytes. Among them, granulocyte were observed as cells responsible for immunological phagocytosis during entry of foreign substances. In particular, it was observed that the most active phagocytic action occurred within 12 hours in vivo, and that after 24 hours, the immune activation was reduced and converted to a normal state. Plasmatocytes were occasionally observed as immunological response, but the remaining hemocytes were not related to immunological activation.
This study investigated carnival behavior in the nursery stage of Fenneropenaeus chinensis. In order to suppress the carnival behavior and improve the survival rate, it was examined whether there was a carnivalism inhibitory effect according to the rearing water of shrimp. In addition, their blood physiological changes were observed. As a result, in the experimental group with the size difference of F. chinensis, the survival rate was the highest in the biofloc technology (BFT) rearing water of olive flounder (75%), and in the experimental group without the size difference, the survival rate was the highest in the seawater experiment group (93%). In both experimental groups, rate of carnival behavior was observed to be low in the fed experimental group regardless of the size difference of F. chinensis. As a result of blood cell analysis of F. chinensis according to the rearing water, the percentage of granulocytes was the highest in the BFT rearing water of flounder (75%) and the lowest in the filtered seawater group (66%). The proportion of semi-granulocytes was the highest at 11% in the shrimp BFT rearing water, and the lowest at 7% in the filtered seawater. The proportion of hyalinocytes was highest in filtered seawater (27%) and lowest in flounder BFT rearing water (16%). These results suggest that carnival behavior and blood composition of F. chinensis may be different depending on the conditions of the rearing water in the nursery stage.

Since 1972, a unique lymphadenitis called as subacute necrotizing lymphadenitis has been described in many Japanese literature. Originally described in Japan, it now appears worldwide. It mainly affects young women and usually manifests as fever and lymphdenopathy. The pathology is characterized by necrosis with loss of nodal architecture, infiltration with many histiocytes, and an absence of granulocytes. We report a case of subacute necrotizing lymphadenitis in axillary area. 4 10-year-old male child was admitted with a one-month history of fever, swelling in the axillary area. He treated with intravenous antibiotics. Despite treatment he remained febrile for the next ten days. 4 dissection of the axillary swelling was then performed, as was a diagnostic lymph node biopsy. The patient's condition resolved over several days and he was discharged.
The immunomodulatory effect of aqueous extract of Inonotus obliquus, called as Chaga, was tested on bone marrow cells from chemically immunosuppressed mice. The Chaga water extract was daily administered for 24 days to mice that had been treated with cyclophosphamide (400 mg/kg body weight), immunosuppressive alkylating agent. The number of colony-forming unit (CFU)-granulocytes/macrophages (GM) and erythroid burst-forming unit (BFU-E), increased almost to the levels seen in non-treated control as early as 8 days after treatment. Oral administration of the extract highly increased serum levels of IL-6. Also, the level of $TNF-{\alpha}$ was elevated by the chemical treatment in control mice, whereas was maintained at the background level in the extract-treated mice, indicating that the extract might effectively suppress $TNF-{\alpha}$ related pathologic conditions. These results strongly suggest the great potential of the aqueous extract from Inonotus obliquus as immune enhancer during chemotherapy.
Activating and inhibitory cell surface receptors play important roles in regulation of immune responses. Recent progress has demonstrated that many inhibitory receptors pair with activating, as well as inhibitory, isoforms, both of whose genes are located in small clusters on a chromosome. We and others identified paired activating and inhibitory immunoglobulin-like receptors, designated myeloid-associated immunoglobulin-like receptors (MAIR) (CD300). MAIR is a multigene family consisting of nine genes on a small segment of mouse chromosome 11. MAIR family receptors are preferentially expressed on myeloid cells, including macrophages, dendritic cells, granulocytes, and bone-marrow-derived cultured mast cells, and a subset of B cells and regulate activation of these cells. Thus, MAIR plays an important role in innate immunity mediated by myeloid cells.
Deer hemal nodes were studied by gross anatomy and light microscopy. Hemal nodes were scattered in the periphery of thoracic and abdominal aortae, and spherical or avoid in shape. A hemal node consisted of a thin capsule and a hilum, and had numerous small subcapsular and deep sinuses distended by a great number of erythrocytes. Although a few lymphatic nodules and tissues were seen in the parenchyma, no typical cortex and medulla was defined. Blood vessels occurred, but lymph vessel was not observed in nodes. The parenchyma of the hemal node consisted of many erythrocytes and lymphocytes, and a few granulocytes, plasma cells megakaryocytes and macrophages. The stroma was composed of reticular cells and fibers. The capsule and trabecula was a collagenous connective tissue with smooth myofibers. The above findings suggest that the hemal nodes are involved in blood storage, blood filtration and immune reaction.
