  • Occlusal plane is a sagittal expression of dental arch form, and it composes the shape of occlusion, which is one of the most important elements of Maxillo-oral system. In this case, vertical, horizontal coordinates of bionic-median-sagittal plane was produced in articulator, and to achieve relation of left and right position of upper, lower teeth and deficits in alveola, Shilla system was used to reconstruct occlusal plane. In this case, a 41 year-old male patient visited for fracture of 10 unit metal-ceramic fixed partial denture of upper anterior teeth and for overall treatment. Clinical, radiographical, model examination was held, full mouth rehabilitation was achieved by placing dental implant. Maxillo-oral relation was recorded using Gothic arch Tracer complex and were mounted. And for the next step, we estimated original occlusal plane using Shilla system. After analysis we produced diagnosis wax pattern. On the basis of this, radiography stent was manufactured and dental implant was placed, and temporary prosthesis was made by using diagnosis wax pattern. Cross mounting and anterior guiding table were performed in order to reproduce temporary restoration morphology and bite pattern, followed by final restoration made of all ceramic crown with zirconia coping. As stated above, appropriately esthetic and functional results can be seen in using Shilla system in diagnosis and treatment procedure of full mouth rehabilitation patient.

  • The new sense of costume is controlled by silhouette. The sense of the times is sensitively reflected in silhouette. For we can perceive the transition of the times through silhouette it is significant to know what course of changes the western costume, which almost became the international costume today, had been going through. I began with the definition and condition of silhouette in this study of silhouette. I took a general survey of silhouette study-ing various kinds of silhouette and the relation between the material and silhouette. I sought the factors which causec the changes in costume and also studies the process of the changes The process of the costume changes is studied by the order of ancient times, mediaeval times, mordern ages and present days. I selected one representative silhouette of women's costume of each period. The darpery form of the ancient time's costume became the tunic form and the tunic form became the tight tunic form today. From this we can perceive that the Gothic period was the limitation of westrn costume. It means that the ancient times was the period of drapery, the midiaeval times was the period of transition from tunic into tight tunic and the modern ages is the period of development of tight tunic. In Egyptian period thin materials were used for costume which was worn in exposed style. In Greek period the costume had the drapery style. The Roman's magnificent costume resembled the Greek's. The mediaeval costume was formed in Byzantium where the northern Europe style of costume was mixed with the gay oriental costume. The Romanesque and Gothic period followed the Byzantine period completing the midiaeval costume. Tight tunic is developed in modern ages. Italian fashion of tight tunic was the first fashion of the modern ages. Germanic and spanish fashion came after it. As Baroque period opened the French royal costume became magnificent and added Brition fashish to it. With the commencement of the modern ages the royal fashion came to an end. Modernages became peaple's period and the costume was simplified. After the First world wav designers and fashion books appeared with the development of technology. Thus the period of fashion industry came. For the designers in 20th country competed to create new designs, the fashion was changed year by year. The simplicity and practicality are not ignored in design, arid the designers added more atristic sense to dresses.

  • This paper propose an algorithm for preprocessing of character recognition, which classify characters into Hangeul and Hanja. In this study, we use the 9 structural chacteristics of Hanja which isn't affected by deformation of size and style of characters and rates based on character size to classify characters. Firstly, we process the blocking to segment each characters. Secondly, on this segmented characters, we apply algorithm proposed in this paper to classify Hangeul and Hanja. Finally, we classify characters into Hangeul and Hanja, respectively. An experiment with 2350 Hangeul and 4888 Hanja printed Gothic and Mincho style of KS-C 5601 are carried out. We experiment on typeface sample book, newspapers, academic society's papers, magazines, textbooks and documents written out word processor to obtain the classifying rates of 98.8%, 92%, 96%, 98% and 98%, respectively.

  • Purpose: The early churches such as tabernacle, temple and synagogue had played a important role to form space concepts of western churches. Tabernacle and temple were designed with vertical axis which consisted of sanctuary, sanctum, outdoor yard. Synagogue was designed pew of congregation around pulpit to give a sermon. The aim of this paper is to analyze spatial principles of churches designed with vertical axis and centralized plan. Method: The concept of vertical axis plan succeeded to Basilica, Romanesque and Gothic churches, and the concept of centralized plan succeeded to Byzantine and Renaissance churches. Therefore, this paper analyzed spatial characteristics and role of light in churches according to epoch, and was progressed by examining the existing researches and case studies. Result: The churches designed with vertical axis plan realized spatial composition to show the concept of domus dei, and worship space was illuminated with mysterious light. The churches designed with centralized plan realized spatial composition to show the concept of domus ecclesiae, and light created dramatic holiness in worship space.

  • This study investigated and compared regional features of Aalto's buildings and Gaudi's on the assumption that their designs are based on the regional backgrounds. For it, two churches of each one we selected and analyzed about five divided spaces like disposition, the exterior, plan, structure and introduction and use of the sunlight. As result of analysis, following conclusions are induced: first, Aalto's church design and Gaudi's we similar in which they reflected the thought of regionalistic design. Nevertheless they are deferred in which Aalto accepted the international functionalism but Gaudi rejected it due to his deep belief. Second, they followed the tradition of the regional architecture. Third, both of them took in consideration the nature, but due to the difference of the contexts they are deferred in its use. Finally, both gave importance to the sunlight. But Aalto is from the country where lacks the light while Gaudi is from the country where abounds the light, so its use is different. This investigation shows several possibilities of design under the influence of its regional culture, which gets more important in this century.

  • The purpose of this paper is to reconsider and revaluate Ste. Genevieve Library designed by Henri Labrouste as a criticism of Classicism. Considered as the epitome of the early structural Rationalism the modern historian tried to focus only on the iron structure of the library. Arguably, the structural concern was one of the ideas that the architect wanted to manifest in the library. As a rebel against a view of the Acad$\acute{e}$mie des Beaux-Art the notions of H. Labrouste were radical. He criticized an autistic Classicism with an echoing Claude Perrault's doubt about the myth of classical beauty. These radical ideas firstly showed in his report of the Grand Prix de Rome and must have been developed through several discussions for a novel: Notre-Dame de Paris by V. Hugo. 'Ceci tuera cela', one of the chapter of the novel, was generally known as the death of architecture due to the invention of the printing press around Renaissance period. We, however, consider that even though the historical background of the novel is the Gothic period the ideas, which was discussed with Labrouste, related to the death of architecture was not the architecture itself but classical architecture recomposed during Renaissance period. As the first design work the library must be reflected his ideas, which were developed, and manifested his criticism of the Classicism indirectly.

  • It is clinically important to determine the physiologic mandibular position as the therapeutic position of the patients who needs the oral rehabilitation and occlusal treatment. Several methods have been employed for the recording the mandibular position. The gothic arch tracer is one of methods to record the mandibular position. The purpose of this study is to record the border position, chewing position, and myocentric position using the newly developed intra oral tracer in 10 subjects with TMJ clicking sound and 10 subjects without TMJ clinking sound.. This study showed that newly developed intra oral tracer allowed clinician the determination of the treatment position on the same horizontal plate which can be used in the full mouth rehabilitation and occlusal treatments. There was no statistically significant difference between clicking group and nonclicking group in the distance of border position-chewing position and the distance of border position-myocentric centric position.

  • This paper aims at understanding the transformed characteristics of expressional system of Church architecture in Korean traditional style. Through the analysis of transformed forms and its meanings of those, this paper investigates the unique process of stylistic development of Korean traditional church architecture in early modern, 1900's. The method of this study is the analyse of them after the actual field surveys of Korean traditional churches, specially eclecticism churches as the HWSAN church and KUPODONG church, and the analysis of Semiology. Theory for Semantic Interpretation of artistic objects as an objects of art and architecture. Specially, the survey concentrates on the architectural elements(the form, the architectural structure, the material, the roof shape, the window, the door, the bell tower, the plan, etc) of eclecticism churches, especially those of HWASAN church and the analysis of semiology theory contains the research results which were studied by theorists as Charles Jencks, Umberto Eco and Juan Pablo Bonta. Acceding to analysis, Korean eclecticism churches have the unique transformation process and specific meaning of the spontaneous process of development. In the results of the semiological analysis of HWASAN church, it can be revealed clearly that transformed process of form리 characteristics of HWASAN church intented to formal originality of western Gothic church, but its form and meaning were based not on any simply imported western style but on existing system of Korean architecture.

  • This study is the realization study recognizing the Korean gothic printing letter. This study defined the new grapheme by using the connection ingredient and had the graphemes recognized by means of the feature dots of the isolated dot, end dot, 2-line gathering dots, more than 3 lines gathering dots, and classified the characters by means of the arrangement information of the graphemes and the layers that the graphemes form within the characters, and made the character database for the recognition by using them. The layers and the arrangement information of the graphemes consisting in the characters were presumed by using the weight center position information of the graphemes extracted from the characters to recognize and the information of the graphemes obtained by vertically exploring from the weight center of each grapheme, and it recognized the characters by judging and comparing the character groups of the database by means of the information which was secured this way. 350 characters were used for the character recognition test and about 97% recognition result was obtained by recognizing 338 characters.
