물류비의 효율적 관리를 위한 글로벌 기업의 물류정보시스템 구축 전략 : 'A'전자 구축사례를 중심으로 (Logistics Information System's Implementation Strategy of Global Company for Effective Logistics Cost Management : Focus on Case Study of 'A' Electronic Company)

  • This research was conducted in order to present the strategies of implementing the logistics information system for effective logistics cost management with the case study of a leading global company. The strategy for effective logistics information system can be derived from the 3 different viewpoints, Firstly the effective global logistics management can be insured by means of the efforts of the reinforced total organization. Secondly from the process-oriented perspective, we should recognize the logistics process as the core factor of the competitive strategy and innovate the logistics process itself for the logistics cost reduction. Finally, the logistics cost will be effectively managed through establishing its logistics information strategy which maximizes the utilization of the information technologies. The case study of 'A' electronics company shows that its logistics management system provides the company with various visibilities about its logistics cost and the direct and indirect benefits over billions of wons per year as well. Therefore we can conclude that the research model provided in this research is validated. This study presents the concrete implementation strategies of the logistics information system and verifies the validity of the strategies by means of the case study of a leading company.

  • Recently, the role of container ports is radically changing, These changes are largely driven by the innovation process of Logistics such as Supply Chain Logistics and Global Logistics due to the international expansional of industry. Under this environment, It is required that the container port should act as a integral part of a Supply Logistics Chain especially to provide the customer-oriented logistics service. This paper deals with the development strategy of container ports coping with these changes in the view point of container ports as a Logistics infrastructure to provide customer-response services and necessary to the economic promotion of hinterlands. Strategy is suggested in the phases of the customers desire, the pattern of container cargo, the economic promotion of hinterlands, and interrelation of container ports in north-east Asia and also domestics through the analysis of competiveness of container ports.

  • This study is to investigate global logistics strategies of Korean electronics companies. in terms of service parts. According to the survey, Korean electronics companies were pursuing multi-level global logistics network such as global, continental, national, regional and service center echelon for improving the efficiency of service parts global logistics. Especially there was a tendency of developing new continental distribution centers. And the companies were exploiting efficiency through inventory control by multi-level echelon, demand forecasting by the product life cycle and supply and service lead time management. But there were some insufficient factors for the efficiency of global logistics operation at the construction of worldwide real time logistics information system and pursuit of the efficiency on the whole network including subcontractors. For the future competitive advantage of the Korean electronics companies, the following are suggested: 1) the establishment of arranged logistics channel adjusting each company's global strategy, 2) the construction of worldwide real time logistics information system, 3) the reengineering of all logistics procedures such as order processing, shipping, inventory control, etc., 4) the enhancement of the ratio of the supply from the external companies and the internal manufacturing subsidiaries at each continent, 5) and the pursuit of operational internalization of external subcontractors.

  • Recently leading edge companies use the Supply Chain Management as a competitive weapon to secure and maintain customer loyalty. As a consequency they are concentrating resources on the company’s core business and employing strategic alliances with third-party providers to ensure the company provides its customers’desired logistics service levels at acceptable costs. Under this circumstances this paper surveys the third party logistics as a leading edge logistics industry coping with the progress of the supply chain management. The status and the type of the TPL including the Forwarder are analyzed in the view point of global logistics. Also the development strategy of third party logistics in the future is suggested.

Exploratory Study of Distribution and Logistics Industry: Do Global Competitive Capabilities Affect Business Performance?

  • Purpose: In this logistics disturbance period, this study conducts research of distribution and logistics firms in Korea. The purpose of this exploratory research is to analyze global competitive capability influence on business performance. And give managerial implications and contribute to academics. Research design, data, and methodology: This research empirically analyzes the relationship between global competitive capability and business performance. As for business performance this research considered non-financial performance and measured with business performance fulfillment. As for antecedent variables, this research measured three global competitive capability constructs; preparation, utilization, intensive capability. And each construct includes two capability concepts. This study used 2,316 executing direct export distribution and logistics industry firmsfrom KOTRA's GCL data. This research used frequency analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and step-wise regression analysis by SPSS26. Results: The result shows that all the variables except export infra showed statistically significant. As results show, mid/long strategy & global mind of preparation capability, both communication and marketing of utilization capability and market strategy and product/goods/service of intensive capability give a positive influence on business performance fulfillment. Conclusions: Based on the results, this research provide implication for practical management, contribution to academic, and suggestion for feature research.

Imitation Strategy를 이용한 국내 물류기업의 해외진출 전략에 관한 연구 (Study on Strategies for Overseas Expansion of Domestic Logistics Company Using by Imitation Strategy)

  • 세계경제의 블록화가 진행됨에 따라 기업의 글로벌화가 증가하게 되고 이로 인한 기업의 해외시장으로의 진출은 가속화되고 있다. 또한 국제 분업화가 촉진되어 글로벌 물류서비스에 대한 필요성이 증가하고 물류시장이 해마다 성장하고 있다. 특히 기존의 화주기업들은 자사내 물류관리를 물류전문기업인 3PL 업체에 아웃소싱하여 물류관리 효율성 증대, 국제 경쟁력 강화를 도모하고 있다. 실제로 포춘(Fortune)지 선정 500대 기업의 70% 정도가 물류 분야를 아웃소싱하고 있으며, 이러한 추세는 향후에 더욱 증가할 것으로 예상된다. 이러한 물류 환경변화에 대응하기 위해 글로벌 물류기업들은 물류기업간 M&A, 전략적 제휴 등을 통해 글로벌 물류네트워크를 구축하여 제조업체들의 다양한 물류서비스 요구에 대응하고 있다. 그러나 국내 물류기업은 글로벌 물류기업과 비교해 볼 때 규모, 서비스 범위, 네트워크 등 전반적으로 크게 뒤져있는 실정이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 글로벌 물류기업 가운데 대상기업을 선정하여 물류기업의 현황 및 성장전략을 분석하였다. 또한 국내 물류기업의 효과적인 해외시장 진출을 위해 Imitation Strategy를 이용한 해외시장 진출 전략을 수립하였다. 그 결과로는 첫째, 우리나라가 강점을 보유한 정기선사, 정기 항공사 등의 부문에서 발전 모델을 모방하여 확대 적용하여야 한다. 둘째, 모방기업은 DHL과 Agility이며, 모방대상은 글로벌물류기업 가운데 세계화, 전문화, 독점화, 공공화, 동반화, 현지화에 강점을 지닌 기업의 사례분석을 통해 이 부문의 경쟁력을 강화시켜야 한다. 셋째, 모방시점에 있어서 국내 물류기업은 기존시장에 있어서는 후발주자 전략으로, 신흥시장은 개척자 전략으로 대응해 나가야 한다. 넷째, 국내 물류기업은 기존 물류서비스와 충돌하지 않도록 물류서비스 영역을 확보해 나가야 하고 글로벌 물류기업의 틈새시장을 잘 활용해야 한다.

국내 해운기업의 물류통합 전략에 대한 연구 (A Study on Logistics Integration Strategies of Korean Shipping Companies)

  • After the COVID-19 pandemic, a global economic downturn and a recession in the shipping market are expected, it is important for domestic shipping companies to establish appropriate strategy in response to the recession. Accordingly, domestic shipping companies should grow into integrated logistics companies that combine shipping and logistics in the future. And for this purpose, it is necessary to actively promote logistics integration with external shipping and logistics companies. This paper presents the direction of logistics integration for domestic shipping companies to develop as integrated logistics operators with competitiveness in the global shipping market, and presents detailed alternatives. Domestic shipping companies lack the infrastructure such as ships, port terminals, and warehouses, so they have a weak capacity to independently promote logistics integration. At the shipping company level, a logistics integration promotion strategy should be established, and accordingly, logistics infrastructure, service network, and logistics integration operating system should be established. The government should provide tax benefits for logistics integration, financial support for M&As led by domestic shipping companies, a standardized information sharing system, and preparation of educational courses for nurturing digital manpower.

물류관리 신패러다임 활용전략과 개선과제 (A Study on the New Paradigm of Logistics Strategy in Korea)

  • WTO출범과 전자상거래의 출현은 국내외 물류산업의 환경변화에 가장 큰 영향을 제공하고 있으며 국내의 경우 물류중심지 전략을 국가발전과제로 활용하면서 물류관리의 신패러다임의 도입과 활용방안이 적극 활용되고 있다. 특히 신패러다임으로 전개되는 물류관리는 기업에게 있어서 소비자의 욕구를 만족할 수 있는 제품을 생산제조하여 이를 효과적으로 공급할 수 있는 능력으로 기업으로 하여금 물류아웃소싱의 적극적 활용을 촉진하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 물류관리의 신패러다임인 물류아웃소싱이 경쟁력 요인임을 강조하고 국내외 물류아웃소싱을 개선하기 위한 활용전략과 과제를 제안하였다.

물류산업의 구조적 분석과 종합물류업 활성화 방안 (A Strategy to Stimulate the Integrated Logistics Companies based on the Structural Analysis of Korean logistics Industry)

  • As the economic volume and trade in North-East Asia have dramatically increased, the competition for dominance over the value of logistics among many developed countries has taken a new turn. The Korean government has been planning a strategy for a north-east asian logistics hub in order to increase the global competitiveness of manufacturing companies by promoting a logistics industry. However, the competitiveness of Korean logistics industry is still quite premature compared to global competitors. Taking these accounts into considerations, this study advocates that the structure of Korean logistics companies should be changed from the function of furnishing simple logistics to extending integrated logistics services. It should also shift its focus from executing domestic logistics to meeting international logistics demands and from an execution-focused service to a knowledge-intensive service. The purpose of this study is to explore effective methods for stimulating an integrated logistics industry. Some detailed guidelines and economic interpretations, based upon the results of this research, have been suggested for supporting the related legislation.

  • 본 논문의 목적은 동북아시아에서 변화하는 물류환경에 우기나라가 능동적으로 대처하여 명실상부한 물류중신 국가가 되기 위한 전략의 적합성을 탐색하는데 있다. 전략은 동북아 물류환경에 대한 SWOT 분석에 의거하여 균형성과모형(BSC)의 재무적 관점에서 도출하였다. 이러한 재무적 관점의 전략의 적합성을 검정한 결과, 우리나라가 2l세기에 동북아 물류중심국가가 되기 위해서는 보다 효과적인 물류성과를 창출할 수 있도록 예산의 선택과 집중전략을 극대화하는 물류정책을 수행하여야 하는 것으로 나타나고 있다.
