The $Calder{\acute{o}}n$-Zygmund type estimate is proved for elliptic obstacle problems in bounded non-smooth domains. The problems are related to divergence form nonlinear elliptic equation with measurable nonlinearities. Precisely, nonlinearity $a({\xi},x_1,x^{\prime})$ is assumed to be only measurable in one spatial variable $x_1$ and has locally small BMO semi-norm in the other spatial variables x', uniformly in ${\xi}$ variable. Regarding non-smooth domains, we assume that the boundaries are locally flat in the sense of Reifenberg. We also investigate global regularity in the settings of weighted Orlicz spaces for the weak solutions to the problems considered here.
It is critical to estimate the location using only Long-Term Evolution (LTE) and Wi-Fi information gathered by the user's smartphone and deployable for emergency rescue, regardless of whether the Global Positioning System is received. In this research, we used a vehicle to gather LTE and Wi-Fi wireless signals over a large area for an extended period of time. After that, we used the learning technique to create a positioning database that included both collection and noncollection points. We presented a two-step positioning algorithm that utilizes coarse localization to discover a rough location in a wide area rapidly and fine localization to estimate a particular location based on the coarse position. We confirmed our technology utilizing different sorts of devices in four regional types that are generally encountered: dense urban, urban, suburban, and rural. Results presented that our algorithm can satisfactorily achieve the target accuracy necessary in emergency rescue circumstances.
Ionosphere is one of the largest error sources when the navigational signals produced by Global Positioning System (GPS) satellites are transmitted. Therefore it is very important to estimate total electron contents (TEC) in ionosphere precisely for navigation, precise positioning and some other applications. When we provide ionospheric TEC values in real-time, its application can be expanded to other areas. In this study we have used data obtained from nine Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) reference stations which have been operated by Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI) to detect ionospheric TEC over South Korea in real-time. We performed data processing that covers converting 1Hz raw data delivered from GNSS reference stations to Receiver INdependent Exchange (RINEX) format files at intervals of 5 minutes. We also analyzed the elevation angles of GPS satellites, vertical TEC (VTEC) values and their changes.

We here investigate the Liouville type theorems of slow diffusion differential inequality and its coupled system with variable coefficients in cone. First, we give the definition of global weak solution, and then we establish the universal estimate (does not depend on the initial value) of solution by constructing test function. At last, we obtain the nonexistence of non-negative non-trivial global weak solution within the appropriate critical exponent. The main feature of this method is that we need not use comparison theorem or the maximum principle.
Moving objects in video data are main elements for video analysis and retrieval. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm for tracking and segmenting moving objects in color image sequences that include complex camera motion such as zoom, pan and rotating. The Proposed algorithm is based on the Mean-shift color segmentation and stochastic region matching method. For segmenting moving objects, each sequence is divided into a set of similar color regions using Mean-shift color segmentation algorithm. Each segmented region is matched to the corresponding region in the subsequent frame. The motion vector of each matched region is then estimated and these motion vectors are summed to estimate global motion. Once motion vectors are estimated for all frame of video sequences, independently moving regions can be segmented by comparing their trajectories with that of global motion. Finally, segmented regions are merged into the independently moving object by comparing the similarities of trajectories, positions and emerging period. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is capable of segmenting independently moving objects in the video sequences including complex camera motion.
Because of the ozone layer depletion and global wanning, new alternative refrigerants are being developed. Among them, HFC refrigerants are thought promising, but some European countries are arguing that these refrigerants are also harmful to the global wanning. Therefore, natural refrigerants should be considered as an eventual alternative in refrigerators and heat pumps. In the present study, the supercritical gas cooling process are computationally analysed by employing various turbulence models of carbon dioxide in a trans critical refrigeration cycle. The gas cooling process near the critical point experiences a drastic change in thermodynamic and transport properties, thus the heat transfer characteristics would be different from those of two or single phases. Based on the computational results, the correlations to estimate the near-critical heat transfer characteristics will are obtained.
It is necessary to estimate the regression coefficients in order to predict the monthly mean daily global radiation on a horizontal surface. Therefore many different equations have proposed to evaluate them for certain areas. In this work a new correlation has been made to predict the solar radiation for any area over Korea by estimating the regression coefficients taking into account latitude, percentage of possible sunshine, and cloud cover. Particularly, the single linear equation proposed by Page & Garg shows reliable results for estimating the global radiation with average deviation of -1 to 3% from the measured values.
Amid a general rise in protectionism and a trade war between the world's two largest economies, this paper analyzes changes in gains from trade for the world over a decade marked by rapid global economic integration preceding the global financial crisis of 2007-08. It employs state-of-the-art quantitative trade models based on the gravity equation to estimate autarky gains from trade, as well as a recently introduced ANOVA-type structural estimation of the gravity equation to obtain trade costs free of residual trade cost bias. Between 1995 and 2006, the cost of moving to autarky increased by about 45% on average. A decomposition exercise suggests most of the increase in autarky gains from trade on average was due to increases in import shares in total spending, with a limited role for reallocations of spending across sectors with varied trade elasticities. Changes in trade costs between 1995 and 2006 are found to have increased autarky gains from trade, as measured in 2006, by up to 100%.
In this paper, I suggest several techniques to estimate covariance matrix and compare the performance of the global minimum variance portfolio (GMVP) in terms of out of sample mean standard deviation and return. As a result, the return differences among the GMVPs are insignificant. The mean standard deviation of the GMVP using historical covariance is sensitive to the estimation window and the number of assets in the portfolio. Among the model covariance, the GMVP using constant systematic risk ratio model or using short sale restriction shows the best performance. The performance difference between the GMVPs using historical covariance and model covariance becomes insignificant as the historical covariance is estimated with longer estimation window. Lastly, the implied volatilities from ELW prices do not lead to superior performance to the historical variance.
NDVI has been used to estimate several ecological variables including leaf area index (LAI). Global MODIS LAI data are partially produced by empirical model that is based on the assumption of high correlation between NDVI and LAI. This study attempts to evaluate the MODIS empirical model by comparing with the result obtained from field LAI measurement and Landsat ETM+ reflectance. MODIS LAI product and ancillary data were analyzed over a small forest watershed near the Seoul metropolitan area. The relationship between NDVI of ETM+ and field measured LAI did not correspond to MODIS LAI estimation. Since the study area is mostly covered by very dense and fully closed forest, the correlation between NDVI and LAI might not be high. Although MODIS LAI product has great potential for global environment studies, it needs to be cautious to use them in regional and local area in particular for the forest of dense canopy situation.
