  • Point-based methods with experienced human operators are processed well in traditional photogrammetric activities but not the autonomous environment of digital photogrammetry. To develop more robust and accurate techniques, higher level objects of straight linear features accommodating element other than points are adopted instead of points in aerial triangulation. Even though recent advanced algorithms provide accurate and reliable linear feature extraction, extracting linear features is more difficult than extracting a discrete set of points which can consist of any form of curves. Control points which are the initial input data and break points which are end points of piecewise curves are easily obtained with manual digitizing, edge operators or interest operators. Employing high level features increase the feasibility of geometric information and provide the analytical and suitable solution for the advanced computer technology.

  • This study deals with the systematic classification and analysis of urban facilities as a fundamental foundation of the intelligent and active management of urban facilities using Ubiquitous Sensor Network(USN). In the results of recent studies, the necessities and simple examples of USN application were already shown, but there were few studies about the systematic classification and specific application methods considering characteristics of urban facilities. In this study, we try to classify the main management characteristics of facilities and analyze the results, furthermore to contribute to the development of convergence of facility management and USN technology.

  • The management model for ground urban facilities based on Ubiquitous technology is proposed to support the u-City projects going on domestically and, reinforce the nation's competitiveness. This research is a part of the Intelligent Urban Facility Management project of the Korean Land Spatialization Group (KGSL). First, this study started from the investigation of existing u-City businesses in order to drive essential components and considerations for the urban facilities management system. Considering the driven conclusions, this study finally proposed the adequate management model of urban facilities for the newest urban environment, u-City.

  • Providing services in a wireless environment with existing wired-based GIS solutions have many limitations such as slow communication, processing rates, and screen size. Among the components, data is considered to be the most important factor in GIS. In this paper, I describe MVF, the most recent technology pioneered by GIS researchers. MVF is a format for efficient usage of spatial object in order to express, save and transform in mobile GIS. First, I describe the definition of MVF syntax, then the implementation of Header Section Generation Module and Main Section Generation Module through the API. Since the issues of network traffic and Hangul processing in mobile GIS are important, I especially consider development of MVF in terms of spatial data size.

  • Recent construction industry is going through much change as getting high-quality, high-technology and environment-friendly, and a safety countermeasure is required urgently as construction structures become larger and more complex. But, Safety management was ignored under quantity-oriented construction policy and that has led to large-scale accidents. Recently, interest for safety management and effective construction of safety management system has been enhanced. Therefore, in this study, we constructed safety management system using Mobile GIS for effective building safety management. As the result, we proposed a method which can manage buildings quickly and effectively as performing data accessibility, storage, and analysis directly in the field.

  • This paper mainly introduces the methods of extracting landslide information using ALOS(Advanced Land Observing Satellite) images and GIS(Geographical Information System) technology. In this study, we classified images using three different methods which are the unsupervised the supervised and the PCA(Principal Components Analysis) for extracting landslide information based on characteristics of ALOS image. From the image classification results, we found out that the quality of classified image extracted with PCA supervised method was superior than the other images extracted with the other methods. But the accuracy of landslide information extracted from this image classification was still very low as the pixels were very similar between the landslide and safety regions. It means that it is really difficult to distinguish those areas with an image classification method alone because the values of pixels between the landslide and other areas were similar, particularly in a region where the landslide and other areas coexist. To solve this problem, we used the LSM(Landslide Susceptibility Map) created with ArcView software through weighted overlay GIS method in the areas. Finally, the developed LSM was applied to the image classification process using the ALOS images. The accuracy of the extracted landslide information was improved after adopting the PCA and LSM methods. Finally, we found that the landslide region in the study area can be calculated and the accuracy can also be improved with the LSM and PCA image classification methods using GIS tools.

  • Nowadays 3D terrestrial laser scanners record high precision three-dimensional coordinates of numerous points on an object surface in a short period of time. So terrestrial laser scanner is applied to a wide variety of fields including geodesy, and civil engineering, archaeology and architecture, and emergency service and defence, etc. This study deals with the potential application of terrestrial laser scanner in the reconnaissance surveying. The results shows that terrestrial laser scanner is possible to extract the linear features and the positioning accuracy of objects measured by total station surveying is comparative to that by terrestrial laser scanner. Thereafter, it is expected that the potential applications of terrestrial laser scanning will be more increased by combining terrestrial laser scanners with airborne LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) and photogrammetric technology.

  • In the last years a low-altitude image acquisition technology has been developed in application of frequent change monitoring in urban area md speedy surveillance in disaster area. A low-altitude photogrammetric system have advantages of accurate observation and free data-acquisition time. Especially, an unmaned RC-helicopter, improving safety, durability and portability, comes into the spotlight as a built-in vehicle in close range photogrammetric application due to their capability of safe near-by observation and effective flight performance. This paper gives a methodology for generating image map by development of low cost and timesaving low-altitude photogrammetric UAV(unmaned aerial vehicles) for collecting high-resolution image data, and implement of geo-rectification and image mosaicking.

  • The development of electronic technology brings the advent of GPS and electronic total station which measures, stores and records automatically angles, distances and 3d coordinates Electronic totalstation is the surveying equipment and system2000 is the supporting program that enables totals tation to get 3d terrain information, construction of the database and automatic drafting of the cartographic map. In this study, we aims at studying the system which can produce automatically the digital cartographic map by using total station and system2000. For this study, cartographic maps of a region are produced by total station and system2000, and then builded digital cartographic map on the autocad2000 environment and also we analysed two digital cartographic maps. As a results of this study, it is found that digital cartographic map by total station and system2000 are much more accurate and efficient than cartographic map by electronic plan table surveying.

  • The disaster monitoring technique by combination of the measurement method and the fine precision of the sensor collecting the satellite-based information that can determine the displacement space is available in a variety of diagnostic information and the GIS/GNSS by first sensor it is being requested from them. Be large and that the facility is operated nationally distributed torsional displacement of the terrain and facilities caused by such natural disasters progress of various environmental factors and the surroundings. To diagnose this spatial information, which contains the various sensors and instruments tracks the precise fine displacement of the main construction structures and the first reference in the Geospatial or more three-dimensional detailed available map and location information using the installed or the like bridges and tunnels produced to a USN/IoT change at any time, by combining the various positioning analysis of mm-class for the facility main area observed is required to constantly in the real time information of the USN/IoT environment sensor, and to utilize this as a precise fine positioning information by UAV/Drone to the precise fine displacement of the semi-permanent infrastructures. It managed to be efficient management by use of new technologies, analyzing the results presented to a method capable of real-time monitoring for a large structure or facility to construction disaster prevention.
