  • This paper presents the measurement system of arrow's point of impact using laser scan camera and describes the image calibration method. The calibration process of distorted image is primarily divided into explicit and implicit method. Explicit method focuses on direct optical property using physical camera and its parameter adjustment functionality, while implicit method relies on a calibration plate which assumed relations between image pixels and target positions. To find the relations of image and target position in implicit method, we proposed the performance criteria based polynomial theorem model that overcome some limitations of conventional image calibration model such as over-fitting problem. The proposed method can be verified with 2D position of arrow that were taken by SICK Ranger-D50 laser scan camera.

  • There are Two new models developed for objective evaluation of fabric color patterns by applying a multiple regression analysis and an adaptive foray-rule-based system. The physical features of fabric color patterns are extracted through digital image processing and the emotional features are collected based on the psychological experiments of Soen[3, 4]. The principle physical features are hue, saturation, intensity and the texture of color patterns. The emotional features arc represented thirteen pairs of adverse adjectives. The multiple regression analyses and the adaptive fuzzy system are used as a tool to analyze the relations between physical and emotional features. As a result, both of the proposed models show competent performance for the approximation and the similar linguistic interpretation to the Soen's psychological experiments.

  • Methods for risk engineering is a bundle of engineering tools including fundamental concepts and approaches of soft computing with application to real issues of risk management. In this talk fundamental concepts and soft computing approaches of risk engineering will be introduced. As the term of risk implies both advantageous and hazardous uncertainty in its origins, a fundamental theory to describe uncertainties is introduced that includes traditional probability and statistical models, fuzzy systems, as well as less popular modal logic. In particular, modal logic capabilities to express various kinds of uncertainties are emphasized and relations with rough sets and evidence theory are described. Another topic is data mining related to problems in risk management. Some risk mining techniques including fuzzy clustering are introduced and a recently developed algorithm is overviewed. A numerical example is shown.

  • In this paper, a short-term load forecasting expert system considering the load variation due to the change in temperature is presented. The change in temperature is an important load variation factor that varies the normal load pattern. The conventional load forecasting methods by artificial neural networks have used the technique where the temperature variables were included in the input neurons of artificial neural networks. However, simply adding the input units of temperature data may make the forecasting accuracy worse, since the accuracy of the load forecasting in this method depends on the accuracy of weather forecasting. In this paper, the fuzzy expert system that modifies the forecasted load using fuzzy rules representing the relations of load and temperature is presented and compared with a conventional load forecasting technique. In the test case of 1991, the proposed model provided a more accurate forecast than the conventional technique.

  • The basic requirements of distributed multimedia systems are intramedia synchronization which asks the strict delay and jitter for the check period of media buffer and the scaling duration with periodic continuous media such as audio and video media, and intermedia synchronization that needs the constraint for relative time relations among them when several media are presented in parallel. In this paper, a distributed intermedia synchronization algorithm that solves the intermedia synchronization problem by using variable service rates based on the fuzzy logic is designed and then the performance is evaluated through simulation.

  • A RMFSOC(Reference Model Following Self-Organizing Fuzzy Logic Controller) is propose in this paper. In the RMFSOC, the refernce model is introduced, where the desired control performance can be specified by an operator of the controlled process. The self-organizing level of the RMFSOC organizes the control rules of FLC which make the process output follow the reference model output. In addition, for the use of preventing improper modifications of control rules, a complementary decission rule is induced from the possible relations between the process output and reference model output. Through a simulation study, it is shown that the robustness of the control system using the proposed RMFSOC to the set-point changes and distur bances can be greatly improved being conpared with that of the control system using the Procyk and Mamdani's SOC.

  • The thrust of this paper is to extend the notion of Plithogenic vertex domination to the basic operations in Plithogenic product fuzzy graphs (PPFGs). When the graph is a complete PPFG, Plithogenic vertex domination numbers (PVDNs) of its Plithogenic complement and perfect Plithogenic complement are the same, since the connectivities are the same in both the graphs. Since extra edges are added to the graph in the case of perfect Plithogenic complement, the PVDN of perfect Plithogenic complement is always less than or equal to that of Plithogenic complement, when the graph under consideration is an incomplete PPFG. The maximum and minimum values of the PVDN of the intersection or the union of PPFGs depend upon the attribute values given to P-vertices, the number of attribute values and the connectivities in the corresponding PPFGs. The novelty in this study is the investigation of the variations and the relations between PVDNs in the operations of Plithogenic complement, perfect Plithogenic complement, union and intersection of PPFGs.

  • We have proposed Fuzzy-CBR to find a solution from past knowledge retrieved from the database and adapted to a new situation. However, ontology is needed in identifying concepts, relations and instances that are involved in a situation in order to improve and facilitate the efficient retrieval of similar cases from the CBR database. This paper proposes the way to apply ontology fur identifying the concepts involved in a new case, used as inputs, for a ship collision avoidance support system and in solving for similarity through document articulation and abstraction levels. These ontologies will be used to build a conceptual model of a maneuvering situation.

  • This research was conducted in order to solve the problem of selecting an operational strategy for projects in project-based organizations by designing a fuzzy expert system. In the current research, we first determined the contributing parameters in operational strategy of project-based organizations based on existing research literature and experts' opinion. Next, we divided them into two groups of model inputs and outputs and the rules governing them were determined by referring to research literature and educational instances. In order to integrate rules, the revised Ternary Grid (revised TG) and expert opinions were applied according to a hybrid algorithm. The Ultimate rules were provided in Fuzzy Inference System format (FIS). In this FIS, proper manufacturing decisions are recommended to the user based on selected competitive priority and also project properties. This paper is the first study in which rules and relations governing the parameters contributing operational strategy in project-based organizations are acquired in a guided integrated process and in the shape of an expert system. Using the decision support system presented in this research, managers of project-based organizations can easily become informed of proper manufacturing decisions in proportion with selected competitive priority and project properties; and also be ensured that theoretical background and past experiences are considered.

  • We had research to conduct interrelationships between sensors using postprocessing analysis with the Fuzzy-Kalman Filtering Auto-Correlation about Real Time Simulator data of the NaroSC LCS in case of a fully blind situation scenario. The conducted interrelations are same harmony with relations in scenario. We had analyzed signals of sensors reverse-using a optimization character of Fuzzy-Kalman Filter. As our research conclusion, We had recognized possibilities of signal processing about the KSLV-1, on-board payloads, general equipments of ground support which apply to multi sensor systems.
