A Fuzzy Controller for Robust Control of Induction Motor Drive System (유도전동기 드라이브 시스템의 강인성 제어를 위한 퍼지 제어기)

  • This paper presents a study on fuzzy speed and flux controller used in a vector control of a CRPWM(Current Ragulated PWM) induction motor drive. In this paper, an approach for an easier design of the fuzzy controller is presented in order to obtain the desired value for the response time with minimal overshoot and to improve the steady state performance for speed step commands. The fuzzy controller is constructed only upon the knowledge of the motor behaviour and the desired speed response, and provides fast and robust control by reducing the effects of nonlinearities, parameter changes and load disturbance. The results of applying the fuzzy logic controller to an IM drive system are compared with those obtained by application of a conventional PI controller. The fuzzy controller provided a better response than the PI controller.

  • Recently the control of induction motor for position control has been extensively studied. The representative method is PIDA controller proposed by Jung&Dorf. By designed PIDA controller' parameter had large value. Moreover, this method is very analyze, so that, not adapted controller parameter in disturbance. Besides using generalize fuzzy controller. Because input and output membership function is linguistic type, therefore system response is very slow. So, in this paper we used optimized fuzzy controller. Optimized fuzzy controller is output membership function is unity value. The controller performance was estimated applied to induction motor' position control.

  • This paper suggests a new fuzzy PID controller with variable parameters which improves the shortage of the fuzzy PID controller with fixed parameters suggested in [9]. The derivation procedure follows the general design procedure of the fuzzy logic controller, while the resultant control law is the form of the conventional PID controller. Therefore, the suggested controller has two advantages. One is that it has only four fuzzy linguistic rules and analytical form of control laws so that the real-time control system can be implemented based on low-price microprocessors. The other is that the PID control action can always be achieved with time-varying PID controller gains only by adjusting the input and output scalers at each sampling time.

  • This paper is proposed new fuzzy controller for speed control of induction motor drive. New fuzzy controller take out appropriate amounts of accumulated control input according to fuzzily described situations in addition to the incremental control input calculated by conventional direct fuzzy controller. The structures of the proposed controller is motivated by the problems of direct fuzzy controller. Proposed controller fuzzily clear out integrated quantifies according to situation. This paper attempts to provide a thorough comparative insight into the behavior of induction motor drive with direct and new fuzzy speed controller. The validity of the comparative results is confirmed by simulation results for induction motor drive system.

  • In this paper, we propose a hybrid fuzzy controller for high performance. Hybrid fuzzy controller are combined Fuzzy and PID controller. In tuning the controller, the parameters of PID and the factors fuzzy controllers were obtained from the model identification and by using genetic algorithms, respectively. Simulation examples demonstrated a better performance of the proposed controller than conventional ones.

  • We present a new technique to the design and real-time implementation of fuzzy control system basedon digital signal processors in order to improve the precision and robustness for system of industrial robot in this paper. The need to meet demanding control requirement in increasingly complex dynamical control systems under significant uncertainties, leads toward design of intelligent manipulation robots. The TMS320C80 is used in implementing real time fuzzy control to provide an enhanced motion control for robot manipulators. In this paper, a Self-Organizing Fuzzy Controller for the industrial robot manipulator with a actuator located at the base is studied. A fuzzy logic composed of linguistic conditional statements is employed by defining the relations of input-output variables of the controller. In the synthesis of a Fuzzy Logic Controller, one of the most difficult problems is the determination of linguistic control rules from the human operators. To overcome this difficult Self-Organizing Fuzzy Controller is proposed for a hierarchical control structure consisting of basic and high levels that modify control rules. The proposed Self-Organizing Fuzzy Controller scheme is simple in structure, fast in computation, and suitable for implementation of real-time control. Performance of the SOFC is illustrated by simulation and experimental results for a Dual-Arm robot with eight joints.

Design of Fuzzy Precompensated PID Controller for Load Frequency Control of Power System using Genetic Algorithm (유전 알고리즘을 이용한 전력계통의 부하주파수 제어를 위한 퍼지 전 보상 PID 제어기 설계)

  • In this paper, we design a GA-fuzzy precompensated PID controller for the load frequency control of two-area interconnected power system. Here, a fuzzy precompensated PID controller is designed as a fuzzy logic-based precompensation approach for PID controller. This scheme is easily implemented simply by adding a fuzzy precompensator to an existing PID controller. And we optimize the fuzzy precompensator with a genetic algorithm for complements the demerit such as the difficulty of the component selection of fuzzy controller, namely, scaling factor, membership function and control rules. Simulation results show that the proposed control technique is superior to a conventional PID control and a fuzzy precompensated PID control in dynamic responses about the load disturbances of power system and is convinced robustness reliableness in view of structure.

  • This paper presents FPGA implementation of fuzzy controller using Product-Sum inference method. Product-Sum inference method has much better performance than other inference methods. This fuzzy controller is composed of several digital modules, e.g. fuzzifier, rule base, adder, multiplier, select center and divider, and is operated by error and error variation. We synthesized the fuzzy controller and performed wave simulation using Xilinx VHDL tool(ViewLogic, ViewSim).

  • In this paper, merits of both fuzzy and PID controllers are combined. The combined controller is designed such that the tuning of the PID controller is achieved by the basic fuzzy controller via its rule base. The proposed scheme avoids the tuning of PID parameters which is always a time consuming task, difficult to carry out and often poorly done. Computer simulations are made to demonstrate the satisfactory tracking performance of the combined fuzzy-PID controller.

  • In this paper, a fuzzy precompensated PI controller for inverter-type air-conditioner is presented. The presented control scheme is composed of a fuzzy logic precompensator and PI controller, in which two control schemes are serially connected. The rules of the fuzzy precompensator is designed to improve the performance by considering the nonlinear characteristics of a temperature dynamics. The experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed controller.
