A parallel multi-frontal solver is developed for finite element analysis of an arc-welding process, which entails phase evolution, heat transfer, and deformations of structure. We verify the code via comparison to a commercial code,SYSWELD. Attention is focused on the implementation of the parallel solver using MPI library, on the speedup by parallel computation, and on the effectiveness of the solver in welding application

The Purpose of this paper is to produce air core inductor and measure its electrical properties for high frequency. Especially we focused attention on the effect of geometrical parameters such as coil width, distance between coils, turn number. In addition, the influence of film morphology at inductor was investigated. Increase of coil width and decrease of turn number resulted in promotion of electric properties.

The recent flurry of activities and interest in Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM) has focused attention on various issues associated with implementing the SRM in the mass commertial Market. One such issue is the noise generated by radial force. In this paper, we proposed the circuit to reduce the noise of SRM using LC Resonant characteristic. The usefulness of proposed circuit is verified by experimental result.

In this paper, we suggest theoretical grounds on the problem of R&D portfolio with different option premiums utilizing the Real Options Model, which has received intensified attention as the method of assessment of R&D project with high risk. Even though there have been many studies focused on the evaluation of option value of single project from technology valuation's perspective. there are few study on the portfolio of multiple technology investment by option value using. This paper bears practical importance by showing simple examples with the option value of investment alternatives and the valuation of related risk, the construction of optimum portfolio in technology investment alternatives.

The need for low cost flexible TFT display backplanes has focused attention on new processing techniques and materials. We have developed backplane technology based entirely on jet-printing, using a combination of additive and subtractive processing, and have applied this technique to both amorphous silicon and polymer TFT arrays.

An approach to identifying input forces is proposed using measured structural dynamic responses and its analytical model. The identification of input forces is a reverse process and ill-conditioned problem. Its solution is unstable and generally case dependent. In this paper, the ill-condition is described considering characteristic matrix which is defined by reduced dynamic stiffness matrix. Special attention is focused on the condition number of a characteristic matrix used in the solution algorithm of this reverse process. Simple example is presented in support of the ill-condition of a reverse process.

Metabolic bone disease was diagnosed in 2 green iguanas hospitalized in Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital of Seoul National University. Treatments were focused on initially correcting of husbandry with attention being paid to diet, increasing UV exposure time and increasing temperature of aquarium. Calcium complex was injected intramuscularly one time and administered calcium powder orally. Treatments responses were good with recovering body condition and increasing plasma Ca level.

Reluctance Synchronous Motors(RSM) with new rotor shape are considered in this paper. Since the stator of a RSM is similar as that of an induction motor, attention is focused here on the rotor structure. We have designed the parameter of RSM and analyzed the characteristics of the electromagnetic energy conversion.

The needs for manufacturing decisions to be made in a strategic context has been recognized for many years. A manufacturing strategy is made up of many decisions and each of these needs to be considered in the strategic context. Currently in many industrial componies, starategic developments are predominantly based on corporate marketing decisions. Therefore, the attention of manufacturing managers focused primarily upon the day-to-day part of their task. This study suggests a connection scheme between corporate and manufacturing strategy. The essencial role of manufacturing manager is to make compony competitive.

Recently an important issue in Bayesian methodology is determination of noninformative prior distributions, often required when there is no idea of prior information. In this thesis attention is focused on the development of noninformative priors for stationary AR(1) model. The noninformative priors primarily discussed are the Jeffreys prior, and the reference priors. The remarkable points in the result are that the Jeffreys prior coincides with the reference prior for the case that $\rho$ is the parameter of interest.
