In this study, resin flow analysis of resin transfer moulding (RTM) method was performed for mould design of composite structure. The target composite structure was a tank used for fluid storage. Natural c fiber composite was adopted for composite structural design of the fluid storage tank. RTM was adopted for manufacturing of the tank using natural fiber composites. Resin flow analysis was performed to find the proper RTM conditions of the tank. The resin flow analysis was performed using the commercial FEM flow simulation software. After repeated analysis while changing the location of resin inlet and outlet, the proper resin filling time and pattern were found.
This paper reviews the adaptation accuracy and mechanical properties of currently used denture processing systems with base resin materials and introduces the latest research on the development of antimicrobial denture base resins. Poly(methyl methacrylate) has been successfully used as a dental denture base resin material by the compress-molding method and heat polymerization for a long time, but recently, new processing techniques, injection molding-methods or fluid-resin technique are also used for fabricating denture base. However, studies indicated that there was no difference between the injectionmolding and the conventional compression-molding method in terms of adaption accuracy of denture base. The fluid-resin fabrication and one injection-molding systems exhibited better adaptation accuracy than the other processing methods. Resin denture bases in the oral cavity may undergo midline fractures due to flexural fatigue from repeated masticatory loading. For those patients, impact resistant denture base resins are recommended to prevent denture fracture during service. Thermoplastic denture base resins can be helpful for patients suffering from allergic reaction to resin monomers with a soft-fit, however, thermoplastic resins with low stiffness can irritate gum tissues and accelerate abnormal alveolar ridge resorption. Moreover, due to low chemical durability in oral cavity, those should be used for a limited period of time.
The optimal removal efficiency to develop wastewater treatment system using the magnetic ion exchange resin. The secondary sedimentation effluent of wastewater in W wastewater treatment plant located in Gyeong-gi Province was used as the influent. To compare the sedimentation effluent reacted with the magnetic ion exchange resin to the influent, the concentrations of CODmm, TN, $NO{_3}^-$-N and TP were measured. The flux of the influent and HRT were set to 250 mL/min, 10 min, respectively, and BVTR has adjusted to 200, 150, 100. The removal efficiency of CODmn, TN, $NO{_3}^-$-N and TP in the 200 BVTR from 71%, 40.37%, 46.34%, 42.03%, 150 BVTR from 55.22%, 37.83%, 50.38% 41.6% and 100 BVTR from 74%, 59.15%, 79.94%, 79.16%, respectively. The results on 200 BVTR, 150 BVTR, 100 BVTR tests show that 100 BVTR is the optimal factor capable of the highest rate of rejection of the organic material.
Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) is a process that enhances physical properties by coating some types of epoxy resins on windings of stator used in large rotators such as generators and motors. During vacuum and pressurization of the VPI process, resin gas is generated by vaporization of epoxy resin. When the tank is opened for curing after finishing impregnation, resin gas is leaked out of the tank. If the leaked resin gas spreads throughout the workplace, there are safety and environmental problems such as fire, explosion and respiratory problems. So, exhaust system for resin gas is required during the process. In this study, a case study of exhaust efficiency by location of vent was conducted using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) in order to design a system for exhausting resin gas generated by the VPI process. The optimal exhaust system of this study allowed more than 90% of resin gas to be exhausted within 1,800 seconds and reduced the fraction of resin gas below the Low Explosive Limit (LEL).
One of the primary advantages of acrylic resin teeth is their ability to bond chemically to the denture base resins. Fracture od acrylic resin teeth from a maxillary denture, however, is not uncommon. Bonding failures have been attributed to faulty boil-out procedures that fail to eliminate all traces of wax from the ridge lap surfaces of the teeth and to contamination of the ridge lap surface by careless application of tinfoil substitute. Attempts to increase the strength of the bond between acrylic resin teeth and heat-cured denture base resin include grinding the glossy ridge lap surface (in fluid system), painting the ridgelap surface of the teeth with monomer-polymer solution, and cutting retention grooves in the ridge lap surface of the teeth. This latter method has been tested by applying a tensile force in a labial direction to the incisal part of the lingual surface of the acrylic resin teeth. A progressive shear compressive load was applied at an angle to the lingual surface of acrylic resin teeth bonded to denture base acrylic resin. No statistically singificant advantage was derived by preparing retention grooves of different shapes in the ridgelap surface of the denture teeth.

The injection molding process is widely used in the production of most plastic products. In order to make metal-colored plastic products like those found in modern luxury home alliances, metallic pigments are mixed with a basic resin material for injection molding. However, process control for metal-colored plastic products is extremely difficult due to the non-uniform melt flow of the metallic resin pigments. In this study, the effect of process parameters on the quality of a metal-colored plastic product is evaluated. A rapid mold cooling method using a compressed cryogenic fluid is also proposed to decrease the content of undesired compounds within the plastic product.

Resin transfer molding (RTM) is one of the most popular processes for producing fiber reinforced polymer composites. In the manufacture of complex thick composite structures, analysis on flow front advancement on the resin impregnating the multi-layered fiber preform is helpful for the optimization of the process. In this study, three-dimensional mold filling simulation of RTM is carried out by using CVFEM (Control Volume Finite Element Method). On the assumption of isothermal flow of Newtonian fluid, Darcy’s law and continuity equation are used as governing equations. Different permeability tensors employed in each layer are obtained by experiments. Numerically predicted flow front is compared with experimental one in order to validate the numerical results. Flow simulations are conducted in the two mold geometries, rectangular plate and hollow cylinder. Permeability tensor of each layer preform in Cartesian coordinate system is transformed to cylinder coordinates system so that the flow within the multi-layered preforms of the hollow cylinder can be calculated exactly. Our emphasis is on the three dimensional flow analysis for circular three-dimensional braided preform, which shows outstanding mechanical properties such as high impact strength and toughness compared with other conventional two-dimensional laminar-structured preforms.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the changes in dentinal permeability after application of dentin desensitizer on exposed dentin immediately after ultrasonic scaling to teeth with non-carious cervical lesions. Thirty caries-free extracted molars were fixed to slide glasses after horizontally being sectioned at 5 mm below the cemento- enamel junction (CEJ). The prepared specimen was connected to a fluid flow measuring device (nano-Flow), and a V-shaped cavity was formed at the CEJ to imitate the non-carious cervical lesion. After no fluid leakage was confirmed in the connected system with specimen, tooth surface was treated ultrasonic cleaning with piezoelectric ultrasonic scalers until dentinal tubules were exposed. And 6 different desensitizers were applied on exposed dentin. Real-time measurements of dentinal fluid flow were performed during ultrasonic scaling and application of dentin desensitizer. To evaluate the occlusion of exposed dentinal tubules, tooth surface was examined by SEM. Following results were observed. After ultrasonic scaling, more dentinal tubules were exposed on the tooth with non-carious cervical lesions compared to tooth without lesions. The rate of fluid flow measured with nano-Flow system had correlation with the degree of dentin occlusion observed with SEM after application of desensitizers on exposed dentin. Desensitizers with glutaraldehyde and HEMA did not decrease the rate of fluid flow and did not show dentin occlusion. Desensitizers with oxalate showed the limited effects on the rate of fluid flow and dentinal tubule occlusion. Desensitizer with resin monomer showed the significant effect on the rate of fluid flow and dentin occlusion.

We have been fabricated Thin-walled carbon nanotubes (TWNTs)/amine epoxy additives composite using Eco-friendly solvent system such as supercritical process and dry mixed process. TWNTs/amine epoxy additives composite has used as a curing agent for urethane based bisphenol A type epoxy resin. The thermo-mechanical property of the epoxy resin cured by TWNTs/amine epoxy additives composite is characterized by dynamic mechanical analysis(DMA) and dispersability of the nanotubes in the epoxy matrix is also confirmed by scanning electron microscope(SEM). As a results, the epoxy resin cured by TWNTs/amine epoxy additives composite with supercritical process shows enhanced dispersability of the TWNTs in the matrix and thermo-mechanical property when compare to dry mixed process.
Many dental composites are Bis-GMA based resin which diluted with the more fluid monomer triethylenglycol dimethacrylate(TEGDMA). TEGDMA is often present in exess so that some quantity remains unreacted following photo-initiated polymerization. TEGDMA is a component of some resin composites which contributes to their cytotoxicity. The presence of dentin between resin composite and pulp space reduce the cytotoxicity in vitro. The root system from extrcted human third molar was removed and then a circular occlusal cavity 4mm in diameter was prepared, leaving a remaining dentinal thickness to the roof of the pulpal chamber within the range 1.0-1.5mm. Dentine was treated with 37% phosphoric acid prior to Z 100 placement without using bonding resin(group 1). In group 2, SMP(Scotchbond Multi Purpose) primer, bonding resin prior to Z 100 placement were applied sequently. In group 3, moulds with internal dimensions 4mm diameter by 2mm depth were used to contain the composite alone with an equvalent mass on tooth model, and then they were immersed directly into water. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the release rate and quantity of TEGDMA with or without the application of bonding resin. Both release rate and total cumulative amount of TEGDMA for the three groups were determined using reversed-phase HPLC at times up to 10 days. The results were as follows: 1. All experimental groups showed the highest rate of release was in the first sample period(0-4.32 min) and the rate of release declined exponentially thereafter. 2. The maximum release rate and total cumulative account of TEGDMA in the tooth model of group 1 and group 2 with the use of SMP bonding resin were reduced however ther were no significant differences between these groups(P>0.05). 3. In the first sample period(0-4.32 min), the rate of release of TEGDMA from composite resin in group 3 immersed directly into water was significantly higher than that in group 1 and group 2 of tooth model(P<0.05). Conclusively, TEGDMA diffusion from Z 100 resin was not effectively prevented by the presence of dentin in spite of using the SMP bonding resin.
