연령과 체형에 따른 성인 남성의 기성복 맞음새 정도 선호도 (The Fit Preference for Ready to Wear Clothings by the Age and Obesity Level of Adult Men)

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the fit preference for ready-to-wear clothes(jackets and slacks) of adult men and to determine the respective differences by the age range and obesity level. The study method was a questionnaire survey with 465 male subjects aged from 20 to 59 years old. The questionnaire was composed of fit preference tendency, physical measurements, age, and occupation. The findings were as follows. 1. Regarding the fit preferred for each part of jackets and slacks, among ready-to-wears, the 'thing with some extra width' in every part was most favored, followed by the 'thing fitting perfectly'. 2. Differences were found in the fit preference tendency by the age of adult men. The fit preference tendency was higher among those in their 20's than among those of the other age ranges. 3. Differences were also found in the fit preference tendency by the obesity level of adult men. The fit preference tendency was higher in the order of the emaciation, normalcy, and obesity types. 4. The fit preference tendency was more affected by age than by obesity level. Clothing companies should consider ease to offer the proper clothing desired by consumers.

The study method was the questionnaire survey with the subjects of 699 women of 20 up to 59 years of age. The questionnaire is composed of fit preference tendency, physical measurements, age, and occupation. For the data analysis, SPSS 90. program was used, and descriptive statistics, Crosstabs, ANOVA, Duncan's test, and t-test were conducted. The findings are as follows. 1. Regarding the fit preferred for each part of jackets, skirts, and slacks, among ready-to-wears, the 'thing with some extra width' in every part was most favored, followed by the 'thing fitting perfectly'. 2. The differences were found in the fit preference tendency by the age of adult women. The fit preference tendency was higher among those in their 20's than among those of the other age range, and those in their 30's and 40's preferred the clothes with less extra width in comparison with those in their 50's. 3. The differences were also found in the fit preference tendency by the obesity level of adult women. The fit preference tendency was high in the order of the emaciation, normalcy, and obesity types. 4. The fit preference tendency was found to be more affected by the obesity level than by the age. The fit preference tendency by the obesity level of each age range showed the differences in all of the age range. However, the normal type did not show the preference difference among the age ranges, in the fit preference tendency by the age range of each obesity level. Clothing manufacturing firms should understand the characteristics of consumers, such as their age, body type, extra width preferred, to provide the consumers of target market with suitable leeway, and they should design the clothing products which meet up these needs in style and silhouette.

For the data analysis, SPSS 18.0 program was used, and descriptive statistics, Crosstabs, ANOVA, Duncan's test, t-test and multiple regression were conducted. The findings were as follows. 1. Regarding the fit preferred for each part of jackets, skirts, and slacks, among ready-to-wears, the 'thing with some extra width' in every part was most favored, followed by the 'thing fitting perfectly.' 2. The differences were found in the fit preference tendency by the age of adult women. The fit preference tendency was higher among those in their 20's than among those of the other age range. 3. The differences were also found in the fit preference tendency by the obesity level of adult women. The fit preference tendency was high in the order of the emaciation, normalcy, and obesity types. 4. For all of three items, age and body type or body type influenced the preference by the fit level. As the age was higher and the body type was fatter, those items with some flexibility were preferred.

  • The purpose of this study were to investigate clothing design preference (style, color, fabric print, kinds of fabrics) & satisfaction with the fit of ready-to-wear clothing for older Men. For this study, the questionnaires were administered to 650 older men in seoul from June to August, 1998. Employing a sample of 504 data were analyzed by mean, frequency and percent. With respect to clothing design preference, they prefer suit the style of outdoor clothing on going-out. On distinguish clothing into formal wear & casual wear, the color preference due to seasons has difference in spring clothing. Regarding the degree of fabric pattern preference, nonpattern single color fabric has occupied in formal wear, pattern in casual wear. Regarding the degree of fabric preference, they take a serious view of shape preservation in formal wear, utility (washing, sweat absorption) in causal wear. Suit has the lowest satisfaction in the fit of ready-to-wear clothing. Sleeve length the lowest in the degree of satisfaction for each part.

  • This article is an analysis of the fit preference of the knitted jacket according to body types for 30's and 40's adult women through a comparison of real and virtual fit. A five point likert scale was used to evaluate the degree of the preference of real and virtual fit. The data were analyzed with t-test and ANOVA using statistical program SPSS 17.0. The results are as follow. 1. The real and virtual fit preference of the knitted jacket according to body types indicates that respondents preferred pattern 2 for body type N than the rest of the patterns; however, respondents preferred pattern 3 for body type A and H. 2. There were no significant differences between real and virtual fit preference. 3. It is necessary that the knitted jacket follow a similar size tolerance like a woven jacket. The results show that the next generation of virtual try-on systems need the development of a minus clothing ease scale.

3차원 의상 모델링 시스템을 이용한 여성용 테일러드 재킷의 맞음새 평가 (A Study on the Fit Preferences of the Tailored Jacket for Women Using 3D Clothes Modeling System)

  • This study evaluates the fit preference of the tailored jacket according to body types for 20's adult women through a comparison of real and virtual fit. A five point fit evaluation scale utilizing a wearer acceptability scale by Shen and Huck was used to evaluate the degree of the preference of real and virtual fit. This scale contained 23 items in three categories: front fit, back fit, and side fit. For each item, 5 responses from 'too tight' fit (1 point) to 'too loose' fit (5 point) were possible. The middle position for each fit criterion indicated a 'good' fit (3 point). The data were analyzed with a t-test using statistical program SPSS 17.0. According to the results, there were no significant differences ($p{\leq}.05$) between the real and virtual fit preference in total measurement items such as front collar, lapel and roll line, front shoulder slope, front armhole, front waist, abdomen, sideseam, hemline, front silhouette, side shoulder, side armhole, side sleeve width, side hip, side silhouette, back collar stand, upper back, back armhole, back waist, back hip, back silhouette except front bust, side waist, and back center back. The factor that caused a difference in the fit preference between the real and virtual fit evaluation was a specific body type such as Body Type A that indicated a small bust circumference and a big hip circumference.

도시 슬로건 수식어가 슬로건 태도에 미치는 영향 : 외부인 시각 관점의 접근 (City Slogan Modifiers and Slogan Attitudes from the Perspective of Outsiders')

  • This study examines the relationship between city slogan modifiers and slogan attitudes from the perspective of residents in other cities. To examine this relationship, the study focuses on two important characteristics of slogan modifiers : the preference for a slogan modifier and the fit of a slogan modifier. To test the hypotheses, a 2 (low vs. high city knowledge)${\times}2$ (low vs. high slogan modifier preference)${\times}2$ (low vs. high slogan modifier fit) between-subjects factorial design was adopted. A total of 254 undergraduate students at the authors' college participated in the study. Their ages ranged from 19 and 30 (average = 22.3), and 58.3% of the participants were male. According to the results, the high-preference slogan modifier had a greater positive effect on slogan attitudes than the low-preference one. Similarly, the high-fit slogan modifier had a greater positive effect on slogan attitudes than the low-fit one. Also, it was shown that the fit of the slogan modifier had a greater effect on purchase intentions than the preference for the slogan modifier when city knowledge was high. However, contrary to expectations, when city knowledge was low, the standardized coefficient of the preference for the slogan modifier was not significantly different from that of its fit.

직무특성모형에 근거한 중환자실 간호사의 간호업무성과 설명요인 (Work Performance of Critical Care Nurses Based on the Job Characteristics Model)

  • Purpose: The study examined core job characteristics and job preference to explain work performance among critical care nurses. The theoretical model was constructed based on the job characteristics model with core job characteristics as exogenous variables, and work performance and job preference as endogenous variables. Methods: A total of 228 hospital nurses participated in the study from May to September, 2015. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using structural equation modeling. Results: The model showed a good fit to the data with $x^2/df=2.90$, goodness of fit index = .91, root mean square residual = .20, comparative fit index = .93, and incremental fit index = .93. The core job characteristics explained 64% of the variance in job preference. The core job characteristics and job preference explained 52% of the variance in work performance. Conclusions: The core job characteristics can explain the work performance among critical care nurses through job preference. Effective strategies to improve the work performance among critical care nurses should focus on the application of the core job characteristic into a productive work environment. Further studies are warranted to explore the role of job preference of critical care nurses in promoting their work performance.

한국과 중국문화권 소비자들의 선호명확성과 고객참여수준에 따른 맞춤서비스 평가 (Customized Service Evaluation by Preference Clarity and Customer Participation in Korean and Chinese Culture)

  • 본 연구는 선호명확성과 고객참여수준이 맞춤서비스의 적합성 평가에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고, 이러한 요인과 상호작용하여 맞춤서비스 평가에 차이를 보일 수 있는 문화권의 차이로 한국과 중국을 설정하여 $2{\times}2{\times}2$ 집단간 실험설계를 통한 ANCOVA분석을 실시하였다. 한국인과 중국인 각각200명을 대상으로 실험을 실시한 결과, 선호가 명확한 경우, 참여수준이 높은 경우, 한국소비자의 경우에 각각 맞춤서비스에 대한 적합성을 높게 지각하는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 한국소비자들은 참여수준이 높아질수록 적합성이 높다고 평가하지만, 중국소비자들은 참여수준이 높을 때 오히려 적합성 평가가 낮아지고 있었다. 또한 선호명확성이 높은 경우에 참여를 많이 할수록 적합성 평가가 높아지지만, 중국의 경우에는 한국과 달리 참여수준에 따른 적합성 평가 향상이 나타나지 않았다.

여자 고등학교 학생들의 교복재킷 브랜드 선호 및 맞음새 실태에 관한 연구 (A Study on Brand Preference and Fit Problems of High School Girls' Uniform Jackets)

  • The market share of conglomerates is increasing in the Korean school uniform market these days. Functional fit problems occurred. Girls choose slim silhouette often experienced fit problems. The purpose of this study is to probe for functional design elements of high school girls' uniforms. A questionnaire survey was carried out. 202 high school girls took part in the survey. The questionnaire measured school uniform brand preference and size of school uniform jackets. The results of the survey show that over half of participants(56.6%) wore their jackets over nine hours per day. They considered the aesthetics of the design as the most important factor when purchasing school uniforms. That element affected their brand preference. In analyses of the fit suitability, there were no significant differences between brands. The jacket lengths were significantly different among brands, but all were evaluated as being short. About 60% of students had difficulty raising their arms while wearing their school uniform jackets. The results of this study revealed that high school girls' uniform jackets are too short and tight. Ergonomic design elements should be applied to high school girls' uniform jackets.
