  • A computer-aided process design system for axisymmetric deep drawing products has been developed. An approach to the system is based on the knowledge based system. Knowledges for the system are formulated from the plasticity theory handbooks experimental results and empirical knowhow of the field experts. the system is composed of four main modules such as geometrical design test & rectification and user modification. The input to the system is final sheet-metal object geometry and the output from the system is process sequence with intermedi-ate objects geometries and process parameters, such as drawing load blank holding force clearance cup-drawing coefficient.

  • A nonlinear process-model based control for main steam temperature control of a 100MW oil-fired drum-type fossil power plant is delveloped and its performances are compared to those of the conventional PID control. The process model for simulation is derived based "first priciple approach" and is validated in steady and transient conditions. The model is in good agreements with the field test data. Performances of the nonlinear PMBC for main steam temperature control are far superior to those of PID in all aspects for the disturbances of ramp increase in load and step change in fuel Btu value.

  • In this paper, we compared and analyzed for safety 1.2m rectangular anchor block and arch-type root anchor block. First, numerical analysis was performed three-dimensional nonlinear method by numerical model test using finite element analysis program "Visual FEA". Then, measure displacement of the surface of the earth after construct each anchor block at 14M electric pole and increase loads through field verification tests for safety evaluation.

  • A number of typical type of steel-box pedestrian bridges are constructed in the metropolitan highway or heavy traffic urban area. Although it has the advantage of speedy construction because of its simple structural form and prefabricated erection method, it has been reported that many of these bridges are deteriorated or damaged and thus are in the state such that it would give unsafe and uncomfortable feeling to pedestrians. In the paper, for the realistic assessment of safety and residual earring-capacity of deteriorated and/or damaged steel box pedestrian bridges, an interactive non-linear limit state model are formulated based on the von Mises' combined stress yield criterion. It is demonstrated that the proposal model is effective for the reliability-based safety assessment and residual carrying-capacity evaluation of steel-box pedestrian bridges. In addition, this study suggests an effective and practical field load test method for pedestrian bridges.

  • EIA-709.1 Control Network Protocol is the basic protocol of LonWorks systems that is emerg-ing as a fieldbus device. In this paper the protocol is implemented by using VHDL with FPGA and C program on an Intel 8051 processor. The protocol from the physical layer to the network layer of EIA-709.1 is im-plemented in a hardware level,. So it decreases the load of the CPU for implementing the protocol. We verify the commercial feasibility of the hardware through the communication test with Neuron Chip. based on EIA-709.1 protocol which is used in industrial fields. The developed protocol based on FPGA becomes one of IP can be applicable to various industrial field because it is implemented by VHDL.

  • Small wind turbines are becoming a viable technology option to supply electricity to landowners. These systems provide energy security, product relatively no environmental harm, and in an appropriate setting can be quite cost-competitive with traditional electricity options. This paper is dealing with the methods how to overcome such inconvenience and with the analysis of characteristic and a field test with a prototype of the stand alone wind turbine was performed. The method applies to small systems, equipped with a coreless axial-flux permanent magnet(AFPM) generator in the turbine, a dc-dc converter and batteries. The analysis concentrates on the effect of the load on the power-wind speed curve of the turbine. The system is designed for direct driven, coupled with turbine and generator with a rated power of, 3kW.

  • The surface layer in dredged and reclaimed marine clay is improved by mixing of shallow soils and hardening agents, which is made of cement, containing some other special admixtures. Tests in both laboratory and field settings are performed to investigate the improvement effect and strength properties of cement-stabilized soils. The test results show that the hardening agent sufficiently improves the soil properties of the surface layer, while increasing the load-carrying capacity. The strength of cement-stabilized soils depends, primarily, on water-to-cement ratio and curing temperature. That is, the higher curing temperature and the longer curing time, the higher the strength in cement-stabilized soils. The high ratio of water-ta-cement results in a lower strength.

  • A dangerous event occurred at the field industry and mechanical system. At developed by SUNGGOKNANOTECH corp. a R-L clutches of a small and high capacity serves safety device from a variety environment of mechanical system, it permits transmission of driving torque from input to output shaft in both directions of rotation, but restrains any feedback torque of the driven load from rotating the output shaft in either direction. This study was carried out to demonstrate through finite element method and durability estimation for safety of the R-L clutches without sliding during the engagement process. As results, we organized about endurance test method when applied rated torque.

  • Harmonics happened due to nonlinear systems such as UPS, SCR controlled motors, and fluorescent lighting in distribute power system is very important subject to optimal operation and control of power system. Harmonics sometimes make incorrect operation of protective relaying system under normal condition on power system. In this study, total harmonics distortion(THD) of power were measured and analyzed by the field test on electrical facilities which were installed at the rural industrial complex in Chungbuk province. In addition, the deprivation of power factor by harmonics and the content of THD which is measured at neutral line was researched.

Dynamic testing of a soil-steel bridge

  • The paper presents the results and conclusions of dynamic load tests that were conducted on a road bridge over the Mokrzyca river in Wroclaw (Poland) made of galvanized corrugated steel plates (CSP). The critical speed magnitudes, velocity vibration, vibration frequency were determined in the paper. The dynamic analysis is extremely important, because such studies of soil-steel bridges in the range of dynamic loads are relatively seldom conducted. Conclusions drawn from the tests can be most helpful in the assessment of behaviour of this type of corrugated plate bridge with soil. In consideration of application of this type of structure in the case of small-to-medium span bridges, the conclusions from the research will not be yet generalized to all types of such solutions. The detailed reference to all type of such bridge structures would be requiring additional analysis (field tests and calculations) on the other types of soil-steel bridges.
