어린이집 운영의 공공성에 영향을 미치는 요인 (A Study on the Factors of Operational Publicness of Child Care Centers)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 어린이집 유형별 공공성 수준 차이를 살펴보고, 공공성에 영향을 미치는 어린이집 특성을 알아보는 데 있다. 구체적으로, 어린이집 운영의 공공성 구성요소별 수준을 파악하기 위한 문항을 개발하고, 이를 통해 어린이집 유형별 차이를 살펴보았으며, 어린이집 운영의 공공성에 영향을 미치는 요인을 규명해 보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 어린이집 총 511개소로, 국공립어린이집 108개소, 법인어린이집 110개소, 민간어린이집 101개소, 가정어린이집 80개소, 공공형어린이집 121개소이다. 자료 분석을 위하여 빈도, 백분율, 평균, 표준편차, F검증, Duncan 사후검증, 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, 국공립어린이집이 보편성, 참여성, 투명성이 가장 높고, 공공형어린이집은 공개성이 가장 높았다. 반면에 민간과 가정 어린이집은 모든 공공성 구성요소에서 가장 낮은 수준을 나타내었다. 둘째, 어린이집 운영의 공공성 구성요소, 즉 보편성은 국공립어린이집과 대도시나 중소도시에 소재할수록 높았고, 공개성은 반대로 법인, 민간, 가정 어린이집일수록 낮았으며, 투명성과 참여성은 국공립과 법인 어린이이며, 정원충족률이 높을수록 높았다. 어린이집에 대한 지원 확대와 이에 대한 정부의 관리감독이 수반되며, 어린이집 운영의 공공성 확보를 이룰 수 있음을 시사하였다.

가정어린이집 표준보육비 산정 연구 (The Estimation of Standard Child Care Service Cost in Family Childcare Centers)

  • 본 연구는 가정어린이집의 운영비 현황을 파악하고 표준보육비를 산정하는 것을 목적으로 수행되었다. 본 연구의 대상은 전국 소재 가정어린이집 442개소로 수집된 자료의 통계처리는 SPSS 18.0을 이용하여 기술적 통계를 실시하였다. 본 연구의 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 조사대상 어린이집의 운영비 실태를 살펴본 결과, 단일반 교사 전체 월평균 급여는 1,196,138원이며 혼합반 교사 전체 월평균 급여는 1,204,428원이었다. 또한 원장의 경우 월평균 급여는 1,523,748원, 취사부 542,240원, 운전기사 661,111원 등이었다. 일반 운영비의 경우 기관운영비 95,580원, 직책급 139,474원, 회의비 26,578원, 여비 39,136원, 수용비 및 수수료로 349,217원, 공공요금 264,153원, 제세공과금 156,677원, 차량운영비 261,617원, 연료비 109,896원, 기타운영비 463,388원을 지출하였다. 또한 급식비 812,054원, 교재교구비 162,239원, 행사비 85,349원, 자산취득비 183,414원, 시설장비유지비 65,741원을 지출하였다. 둘째, 본 연구에서는 원장의 교사 겸직여부 및 취사부를 별도 채용여부, 식단재료의 유형 등을 고려하여 가정어린이집의 4가지 표준보육비를 산출하였다.

부모의 행복감이 양육스트레스와 직장어린이집 이용만족도에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Happiness on Parental Stress and Employer-supported Childcare Centers Satisfaction Level)

  • 본 연구는 직장어린이집 이용 부모의 행복감이 양육스트레스와 어린이집 이용만족도에 미치는 영향력을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 통해 일 가정의 조화로운 양립과 직장어린이집 운영의 질적 향상을 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다. 이를 위해 직장어린이집 이용 부모 206명을 대상으로 7개 영역 35문항으로 구성된 행복감 검사도구와 2개 영역 20문항으로 구성된 양육스트레스 검사도구 및 5개 영역 25문항으로 구성된 이용만족도 검사도구를 사용하였다. 본 연구를 통해 나타난 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 직장어린이집 부모의 행복감과 직장어린이집 이용만족도에 대한 인식은 높은 수준으로 나타났고, 양육스트레스는 보통보다 약간 높은 수준으로 나타났다. 둘째, 직장어린이집 부모의 행복감과 양육스트레스는 부적상관을 보였으며, 행복감과 직장어린이집 이용만족도는 정적상관을 보였다. 셋째, 직장어린이집 부모의 행복감은 행복성, 가족의 화목 순으로 양육스트레스에 영향을 미치고, 행복감은 행복성, 대인관계 순으로 직장어린이집 이용만족도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 부모의 양육지원을 위한 지원 방향이 물질적 구조적 접근뿐만 아니라 부모의 행복감을 증진시키는 정의적 차원의 접근이 필요함을 시사한다.

충청북도 어린이집의 평가인증에 영향을 미치는 특성 분석 (An Analysis of the Characteristics of Accredited Childcare Centers in Chungbuk Province)

  • This study aims to analyze what factors are associated with child care accreditation in Chungbuk province. This study examined three questions about which factors influence the accreditation of childcare centers: 1) if they passed the accreditation criteria, 2) the total score on the accreditation criteria, and 3) the domain scores for the six domains of environment, management, process, interaction and teaching, health and nutrition, and safety. The characteristics of 1,212 childcare centers, the independent variables, were commit management, type, specialized service, maximum capacity of children, registration ratio, target age groups of children, duration, and city size. The formal expert committee evaluated objective scores for 952 childcare centers. I derived the data for this study from the i-sarang Childcare Information Portal site (http://info.childcare. go.kr/). Frequency, descriptive statistics, binary logit model, and OLS model analysis were used to examine the accreditation and scores by factors of childcare centers. The findings of the present study are as follows. First, about 80% of the 1,212 childcare centers in Chungbuk province were accredited. Second, the accreditation of the child care center was affected by the specialized service, registration ratio, and duration. Finally, the total score of accredited childcare centers was associated with the maximum capacity of children, registration ratio, and duration. The factors of childcare centers influencing sub-area scores were different by environment, interaction and teaching, health and nutrition, and safety. The present study is important because it offers preliminary data identifying accreditation characteristics that can judge problems related to the quality of service of childcare centers and suggest childcare policy implications.

보육서비스 품질 개선을 위한 어린이집 운영계획 수립에 관한 연구 (A Study on Operation Planning of Childcare Centers to Improve the Quality of Childcare Service)

  • Purpose: This study analyzes the optimal operation scheme of childcare centers in Korea to maximize the quality of childcare service by determining the number of children and number of teachers. Methods: This study employs a mathematical programming methodology called 'nonlinear integer programming (NLIP)' to solve the optimization problems and compare the quality of childcare service of optimal solutions with those of present operation scheme. Results: It is very successful in obtaining the optimal solutions for alternative capacities and they guarantee the substantial improvement in the quality of childcare service. Conclusion: Though more variables should be adapted for defining the quality of childcare service robustly, it is possible to conclude that childcare centers should modify their operation scheme to improve the quality of childcare service.

어린이집 조직건강성과 보육교사 이직의도 관계에서 일과 삶의 균형의 매개효과 (The Mediating Effect of Work-Life Balance in the Relationship between Organizational Health of Childcare Centers and Turnover Intention of Childcare Teachers)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the direct effect of organizational health, as perceived by childcare teachers, on their turnover intention, and to examine the mediating effect of work-life balance on the relationship between these two variables. Methods: The subjects of this study were 345 childcare teachers working at 45 childcare centers located in Gyeonggi-do. Descriptive statistics, factor analysis, reliability analysis, and Pearson correlation analysis were performed using SPSS 21.0. Additionally, the mediating effect was verified using the PROCESS Macro, and bootstrapping was performed to confirm the significance of the indirect effect. Results: First, there was a significant negative correlation between the organizational health of childcare centers, the turnover intention of childcare teachers, and their work-life balance. Second, it was found that work-family balance completely mediated the relationship between the organizational health of childcare centers and the turnover intention of childcare teachers, while work-leisure balance and work-growth balance partially mediated the relationship between these two variables. Conclusion/Implications: This study provides essential data for examining ways to lower the turnover intention of childcare teachers by addressing both individual and organizational dimensions.

보육시설 평가인증이 보육교사의 보육활동 자료활용 및 유아와의 상호작용에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Childcare Centers Accreditation on Teachers' Utilization of Activity Materials and Interaction with Children)

  • Recently, many childcare centers have actively participated in assessment accreditation. 115 teachers who did participate or did not participate in the accreditation process completed a structured questionnaire, We examined differences between teachers in accredited centers and in non-accredited centers in terms of their individual characteristics, work environment, the utilization of activity materials and the interaction with children. In addition, using the regression model, we analyzed the effects of several characteristics of teachers and childcare center's accreditation on the utilization of activity materials as well as the interactions between teachers and children. The main results of this study are as follows. First, overall, the level of work environment of non-accredited centers was lower than that of accredited centers. Second, compared with teachers in non-accredited centers, teachers in accredited centers used more and higher levels of activity materials, and demonstrated a higher level of interactions with children. Third, including accreditation, use of helpers had a significant effect on the interactions between teacher and children. Forth, not only the accreditation system, but also work hours, work experience, children's age and use of helpers had a significant effect on using materials in childcare activities. Conclusively, understanding the experience of teachers in accredited centers is important hi terms of facilitating the quality of activities and the interactions with children.

어머니의 보육지식과 어머니-교사 의사소통과의 관계 (Maternal Knowledge of Childcare and Its Effects on Mother-Teacher Communication)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between maternal knowledge of childcare and mother-teacher communication. The participants consisted of 240 mothers whose children were enrolled at seven childcare centers in Seoul. Respondents were asked to complete a series of questionnaires reporting the important aspects of their childcare, the frequency of mother-teacher communication, and individual characteristics. Information about childcare's structural and procedural characteristics were obtained through interviews with the directors of those centers. The results indicated that mothers only answered 45.5% of questions correctly, and reported a lack of knowledge about childcare services in their respective centers. In particular, mothers didn't have information about caregivers (e.g, education, year of job experience, license, etc). Actual maternal knowledge was significantly correlated with the length of time which mothers were associated with their childcare and the frequency of mother-teacher communication. In addition, there were significant differences in the maternal knowledge regarding childcare services according to mothers' educational level. The results of this study imply that effective parent education programs are needed for mothers who want to enroll their children in childcare centers.

열린어린이집에 대한 인식과 요구도: 어린이집 원장, 교사 및 부모를 중심으로 (Perceptions and Needs for the Open-Childcare Center: Focused on Director, Teacher, and Parent)

  • This study investigated the difference of perception and needs among director, teacher, and parent for an open-childcare center focused on parent participation. The subjects of this study consisted of 56 directors, 231 teachers, and 299 parents in childcare centers in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, Chungcheong, and Gyeongsang province. They completed a questionnaire about the perception and needs of an open-childcare center, which was later analyzed by SPSS ver. 23.0. The findings were as follows. First, five areas of open-childcare center were 'participating activities as various roles,' 'willingness of parent participation,' 'reflection of parent needs,' 'concern about CCTV,' and 'sharing outdoor spaces.' Second, the perception of directors concerning open-childcare centers were higher than the ones for teachers or parents; however, there were differences in perception depending on their perspective position. The biggest perception of directors was 'participating activities as various roles,' and parents' one was 'concerned about CCTV.' However, the perceptions of teachers were a lower level than the other two groups'. Third, the directors showed a higher level of needs to promote an open-childcare center (except for one concerned about CCTV). Parents also showed their needs 'increasing awareness of open-childcare program,' 'promoting to parent's participation,' 'communication with on-line,' and 'concerning CCTV.' The implication of these results were discussed as action plans to promote an open-childcare center.

유아의 기질, 어머니의 양육스트레스 및 유아교육.보육기관에서의 사회적 적응간의 관계 (The Relationships Among Child Temperament, Mothering Daily Hassles and Social Adjustment in Kindergartens and Childcare Centers)

  • This study explored the relationships among child temperament, mothering daily hassles, and children's social adjustment in 254 kindergartens and childcare centers. The mothers of the participants completed the measures of child temperament and mothering daily hassles. The social adjustment in daycare was assessed through the rating provided by the children's teachers. Correlations and regressions were used for the analyses. The results showed that sociability, activity and soothability were related to social adjustment that attention-span, soothability, emotionality and activity were related to the mothering daily hassles that mothering daily hassles by children's challenging behavior were negatively related to the social competence and positively internalizing problems and that sociability and activity were useful to predict children's social adjustment in kindergartens and childcare centers.
