  • Supercritical fluid technology has been an alternative for purification and separation of biological compounds in cosmetic, food, and pharmaceutical products. Solubility information of biological compounds in supercritical fluids is essential for choosing a supercritical fluid processes. The equilibrium solubility of hinokitiol was measured in supercritical carbon dioxide with a static method in the pressure range from 8 to 40 MPa and at temperatures equal to 313.2, 323.2 and 333.2 K. The experimental data were correlated well by Peng.Robinson equation of state and quasi-chemical nonrandom lattice fluid model.

  • In this paper, The program of design technique of Influence surface is presented for analysis of moving(live) load of long-span bridges such as suspension bridges. This program is verified by comparing with various numerical examples. The proposed program is calculated the design conditions for the initial equilibrium state of suspension bridges, hence it can be used to analysis of various 3-dimensional frame structure with cable system.

  • Recently, artificially modulated magnetic multilayer materials, for examples giant magnetoresistant magnetic head materials and magneto-optic recording materials in the wavelength of a blue laser beam, attract great attention in the electronics industry due to their unique properties derived from the modulated multilayer structure. Since the multilayer structure as well as amorphous structure, is non-equilibrium state in terms of free energy, an assessment of the thermal staibility in the multilayer structure is crucially importnat both for basic research and applications. In this review paper, effective microscopic interdiffusion process in the two dimensional multilayer structure will be described in terms of steep concentration gradient effect, strain effect and magnetic transition effect.

  • Using "Yonsei$^{101}$ Analog Computer" the poisoning of the Xenon$^{135}$ in a thermal homogeneous nuclear reactor is analyzed. The simulator is constituted of high gain D.C. operational amplifiers and operational impedances. During the nuclear reactor operation, the Xenon poisoning increases against time until the equilibrium state reaches. After the reactor shut-down, it increases remarkably until the maximum value and then decreases. The simulated curves agree with theoretical values satisfactorily. The accuracy of the analog computer solution is 0.4387 per cent during the nuclear reactor operation and 6.7 per cent after the nuclear reactor shut-down respectively.pectively.

  • In order to investigate dynamic behaviors of marine cables under wave and earthquake forces a geometric nonlinear. F, E formulation of marine cables is presented and tangent stiffness and mass matrices for the isoparametric cable element are derived, The initial equilibrium state of cables subjected to self -weights and current forces is determined and free vibration and dynamic nonlinear analysis of cable structures under additional environmental loads are performed based on the initial configuration Challenging examples are presented and discussed in order to demonstrate the feasibility of the present finite element method and investigate dynamic nonlinear behaviors of marine cables.

  • Single chain-monellin (SCM) was recently constructed by fusing the two chains of monellin. From the view of protein folding, SCM serves as an ideal model system especially in tackling ${\alpha}$-helix-${\beta}$-sheet interactions due to the following reasons: First, it consists of simple distinct structural elements (${\alpha}$-helix and ${\beta}$-sheet) which are assembled in a perpendicular manner.(omitted)

  • A discrete time domain modeling is presented for the pulse-width modulated series resonant converter (PWM-SRC) with a discontinuous current mode. This nonlinear system is linearized about its equilibrium state to obtain a linear discrete time model for the investigation of small signal performances such as the stability and transient response. The usefulness of this small signal model is verified through the dynamic simulation.

  • The anomalous behaviors of supercooled water are explained by using a two-solid-like structure model in which an equilibrium is assumed between open structures and closed structures. Besides these structures, small fraction of monomer exists in liquid water. The anomalies of liquid water are classified into two groups: structural and energetic. The structural anomalies appear in enlarged fashions in a supercooled state where the free volume is small.
