국내 보급 예정 하이브리드 자동차의 유형별 편익 고찰 (A Study on the Feasibility of the Three Prospective Types of HEV)

  • More people have become interested in hybrid vehicles - which have been heralded as environmentally friendly automobiles - recently as the opening of domestic hybrid vehicle market draws near. Since gasoline, diesel and LPG hybrid vehicles will be produced, a need exists to conduct economic feasibility study of each vehicle type. This research analyzed projected benefits of these hybrid vehicles based on the 1600cc model. There are two categories of benefits: 1) reduced fuel costs for the owners of the vehicles; and 2) reduced environmental pollution cost. We conducted a sensitivity analysis and estimated the domestic consumer fuel costs based on the international oil prices of 100USD, 150USD, and 200USD per barrel. The analysis showed savings of 2 to 4 million Won in fuel cost and 1 to 2 million Won in environmental pollution cost; therefore, the hybrid vehicles are not economically feasible if they are between 3 to 5 million Won more expensive than the conventional internal combustion engine vehicles.

  • U.S. National Research Council proposed benefits framework for energy R&D project as economic benefits, environmental benefits, security benefits and knowledge benefits. Following this framework, U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory evaluated the projected benefits of Federal Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Programs in the indicators of energy-expenditure savings, energy system cost savings, $CO_2$ emissions reductions. oil savings, natural gas saving and avoided additions to central conventional power. As this result, geothermal energy have predominant position in the energy-expenditure savings, natural gas saving and avoided addi t ions to central conventional power to FY2050. The projected benefits, in monetary value, of the whole supply-potential of geothermal energy in Korea were evaluated as 480.2 billion Won, 43.1 billion Won and 135.8 billion Won for the private energy-cost savings, social environmental-cost savings, and import energy-cost saving, respectively.

환경적 이점을 중심으로 한 공공 에너지저장시스템의 경제적 가치 추정 (Evaluating the Willingness to Pay of Public ESS Facilities: Focusing on the Environmental Benefits)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the economic value of installing public Energy storage system (ESS) facilities using a logit regression analysis and Contingent Valuation Method (CVM). We focused mainly on the environmental benefits of ESS and analyzed how the users' attitude toward environmental protection and knowledge of renewable energy affect their Willingness to pay (WTP) Methods: A single-bounded dichotomous choice (SBDC) survey was used to collect the data. We asked participants whether they are willing to pay a randomly presented cost (KRW 100, 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, 5000, 10000) along with their attitude to toward environmental protection, knowledge of renewable energy, and perceived cost of electric bill. 417 valid samples were collected and used for the analysis. Results: The results of the logit regression show that the initial bid, attitude toward environmental protection, knowledge of renewable energy, and perceived cost of electric bill significantly affect the user's WTP of public ESS facilities. The CVM results show that users are willing to pay KRW 5,049.1/month to install ESS facilities. Conclusion: : According to results, we conclude that the users agree with the need to install ESSs and that environmental benefits of ESSs are important factors for ESS adoption. Therefore, policy makers need to emphasize environmental aspects to install the ESS facilities.

건설기술진흥법 상 안전관리비에 대한 적산 및 품셈을 통한 적정 요율 산정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Proper Rate of the Safety Management Cost under the Construction Technology Promotion Act by Direct Calculation)

  • The safety management cost system under the Construction Technology Promotion Act has contributed greatly to the prevention of construction accidents according to the chronological changes and social demand, but various problems have been pointed out. The biggest problem is that the safety management cost is earmarked very low because other items of safety management costs except for the safety inspection are not appropriately included in the actual construction site. Furthermore, it has been pointed out that it is difficult to settle the orderer due to the lack of specific use criteria. Therefore, in order to secure the proper safety management cost, this study is to estimate the actual cost by using of specification, quantity, material cost, labor cost for each type of the safety management item The results of this study were compared with the 71 cases of safety management costs in the safety management plan. In addition, analysis of unclear or unnecessary items in the current safety management cost and criteria and suggestions for improvement are provided. It is hoped that the results of this study will contribute to the rational safety management rate calculation.

탄소의 사회적 비용에 따른 수상 태양광 사업의 경제성 변화 (Changes in the Economic Feasibility of a Floating Photovoltaics Project due to the Social Cost of Carbon)

  • Renewable energy sources play a key role in achieving carbon neutrality and zero net emissions in the power generation sector. Various efforts have been made to support the deployment of renewable energy, particularly solar photovoltaic and wind power, including policies to internalize the external cost of carbon emissions. In this study, we conducted a financial analysis of a 800 MW floating photovoltaic system and compared it with ground solar power generation. Additionally, we conducted a cost-benefit analysis that included the social cost of carbon. The findings showed that the floating photovoltaic project can meet the profitability target through an appropriately designed internalization of the social cost of carbon.

  • For economic evaluation of integrated operation to sewage facilities, benefit-cost analysis was performed to watershed sewage works project in 7 watershed areas, 156 facilities. In this study, the cost before and after integrated operation was compared and benefits are calculated from the reduction of operators, increasement treated pollution loads, reduction cost through operation convenience, reduction water consumption through effluent reuse, and improvement of life benefit. The result showed that cost was 8,500million won and benefit was 16,747million won, so benefit was 49% higher than cost. B/C analysis result showed that B/C ratio was 1.97 and it is similar to other researches. The benefits of integrated operation included convenience of data management, increase of emergency response, decrease of complains with sewage which was not reflected numerically, so the benefits of integrated operation were expected much greater than this result

  • The study is to analyze the contents of Environmental Impact Statement(EIS) and supplementary EIS prepared from 1981 to 1992. The contents are project area, project cost, EIS volume, project term, assessment term, EIS preparation cost, land use plan, and kinds of predictive model concerning air quality, water quality, noise and vibration etc. by project type. Data are collected with EIS analysis checklist and analyzed by $SPSS/PC^+$.

  • Impact pathway analysis(IPA) is a bottom-up approach to estimates health and environmental risks from emissions of classical pollutants (eg. $PM_{10}$, $SO_2$, $NO_x$ and CO). The model starts from the emission rates of facility, calculates the yearly mean concentrations of pollutants at the ground level using atmospheric dispersion models. After this, proper epidemiological exposure-response functions are applied to determine the impact on the receptors. Finally the methodology can monetise the calculated physical impact on the basis of selected economic evaluation. The aim of this study is to evaluate an external cost of virtual point source in Suwon area using IPA. The results shows minor modification of local input data can make it possible to apply the model to Suwon area.

Application of Cu-loaded One-dimensional TiO2 Nanorods for Elevated Photocatalytic Environmental Friendly Hydrogen Production

  • Photocatalytic green energy H2 production utilizing inexhaustible solar energy has been considered as a potential solution to problems of energy scarcity and environmental contamination. However, the design of a cost-effective photocatalyst using simple synthesis methodology is still a grand challenge. Herein, a low-cost transition metal, Cu-loaded one-dimensional TiO2 nanorods (Cu/TNR) were fabricated using an easy-to-use synthesis methodology for significant H2 production under simulated solar light. X-ray photoelectron spectral studies and electron microscopy measurements provide evidence to support the successful formation of the Cu/TNR catalyst under our experimental conditions. UV-vis DRS studies further demonstrate that introducing Cu on the surface of TNR substantially increases light absorption in the visible range. Notably, the Cu/TNR catalyst with optimum Cu content, achieved a remarkable H2 production with a yield of 39,239 µmol/g after 3 h of solar light illumination, representing 7.4- and 27.7-fold enhancements against TNR and commercial P25, respectively. The notably improved H2 evolution activity of the target Cu/TNR catalyst was primarily attributed to its excellent separation and efficiently hampered recombination of photoexcited electron-hole pairs. The Cu/TNR catalyst is, therefore, a potential candidate for photocatalytic green energy applications.

중앙정부의 환경투자 관련 제조업의 비용분석 (Cost Structure of Korean Manufacturing Industries connected with the Central Government's Environmental Investment)

  • 중앙정부의 환경투자 관련 제조업의 비용구조를 트랜스로그 가변비용함수를 활용하여 분석하였으며, 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 중앙정부에서 진행하는 환경투자의 적정 여부를 파악하기 위해 충족도를 살펴본 결과, 적정수준인 1에 못미치는 0.7230으로 분석되었으며, 이에 따라 생산비효율이 발생하고 있다. 그러므로 중앙정부는 환경투자를 적정수준으로 끌어올릴 수 있는 방안을 마련해야 할 것이다. 또한 중앙정부는 환경투자의 부족에도 불구하고 잠재가격이 시장가격보다 작아 투자여건은 유리하지 않다. 그러나 중앙정부의 환경투자는 제조업체의 산출증대를 가져오고, 가변비용을 절감하며, 규모의 경제를 가져오는 것으로 분석되었다. 둘째, 제조업체의 공해방지투자와 중앙정부의 환경투자를 비교해 본 결과, 전자 후자 모두 투자가 적정수준에 못미치고, 투자여건이 양호하지 못하며, 규모의 경제를 가져오고, 산출 증대에 기여하는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 중앙정부의 환경투자는 정(+)의 잠재가격에 따라 효율적이므로 가변비용을 절감하게 된다. 이에 따라 제조업체는 중앙정부의 환경투자 부족이 가변비용을 증가시켜 생산비효율을 가져오고 있다. 그러나 제조업체의 공해방지투자는 부(-)의 잠재가격에 따라 비효율적이므로 가변비용을 절감하지 못하고 있다. 이러한 제조업체의 공해방지투자 부족은 오히려 가변비용을 절감시킴에 따라 생산효율을 가져오고 있다. 그러므로 제조업체는 공해방지투자를 적정수준으로 끌어올려 효율화함으로써 가변비용을 절감시켜 생산효율을 달성해야 할 것이다.
