아동과 어머니의 정서성에 대한 연구 - 가족생활을 중심으로 - (A Study on the emotionality of Child and Mother)

  • A Study of the Emotionality of Child and Mother The purpose of this study is primarily to understand the emotional climate of child and mother, which is a significant factor in child study and the home life. A sample was collected from a total of 1,592 of whom 796 are elementary school children with their mothers. Of these 796 children 440 are fom private schools, 190 from public schools in Seoul. The rest are taken from a farming area, 100 kilometers from Seoul. The data was basically obtained through answers to a questionaire distributed in September 1973. In this study, the cross-sectional method, percentage calculation and chi-square test are adapted from factor analysis. With this limited amount of data special attention now, the following conclusions can be drawn from this analysis although special attention should be given in making any kind of generalization about the entire population. 1) Children's emotionality (a) There is a higher percentage of emotionally well-adjusted children as opposed to maladjusted children.(51%>11%) (b) There is no correlation between children's emotionality and the following factors: grade, sex, residential area, school records, and educational level of their mothers. 2) Mother's Emotionality (a) There are more mothers who consider themselves happy than unhappy.(49%>2%) On the other hand a higher percentage of mothers reported feelings of tension and insecurity as compared to those who had feelings of firm security(65%>5%) (b) There is a high correlationshionship between marital adjustment and marital happiness. In other words, the more adjusted, the happier. A high marital happiness has strong influence on the preference of sex, on children's adjustment to their friends, and their present living condition. (c) There is a close relationship between a high marital adjustment and the social development of a child: being fond of fathers, homelife, and the acquaintance with many friends. In the same way, the positive emotionality of a mother in raising her children and their school records are also important. 3) Emotional relationship between a mother and her chid There is a close bond of love and respect between a mother and her child. Moreover, a high frequence of close and open-minded communication exist between them in a family. It is evident that the emotional climate of the mother has a strong and powerful influence on her child.

유아의 부정적 정서성에 따른 어머니의 정서표현성과 유아의 대인간 문제해결 능력 (Mother's Emotional Expressiveness and Children's Interpersonal Problem Solving Skills According to Children's Negative Emotionality)

  • 본 연구에서는 유아의 부정적 정서성에 따라 어머니의 정서표현성과 유아의 대인간 문제해결 능력에 차이가 있는지를 분석하기 위해 서울 및 인천지역 소재 어린이집과 유치원에 재원 중인 만 5세 유아와 그 어머니 116쌍을 연구대상으로 선정하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 23.0 프로그램을 이용하여 기술통계 및 독립표본 t-검증에 의해 분석되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유아의 성별에 따라 슬픔의 정서성에 차이가 나타나서 여아가 남아보다 슬픔의 정서성이 더 높았고, 형제가 없는 유아보다 형제가 있는 유아의 어머니가 부정적 정서표현을 더 많이 하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 부정적 정서성이 낮은 유아보다 부정적 정서성이 높은 유아의 어머니가 부정적 정서를 더 많이 표현한 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 유아의 대인간 문제해결 능력은 유아의 부정적 정서성에 따른 차이가 나타나지 않았다.

걸음마기 영아의 부정적 정서성, 영아의 부정적 정서에 대한 어머니의 반응과 영아의 사회정서 행동과의 관계 : 어머니의 반응의 매개효과를 중심으로 (The Effect of Toddlers' Negative Emotionality and Mothers' Reactions to their Child's Negative Emotions of Social-emotional Behaviors)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 부정적 정서가 드러나는 걸음마기 영아를 대상으로 부정적 정서성과 부정적 정서에 대한 어머니의 반응이 영아의 사회정서 행동과 어떠한 관계가 있는지 살펴보는데 있다. 연구대상은 18-36개월 걸음마기 영아와 어머니 141명이었으며 상관관계, 위계적 회귀분석, 매개효과 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 영아의 부정적 정서성과 부정적 정서에 대한 어머니의 반응, 영아의 사회정서 행동은 서로 유의미하게 관련되어 있었다. 또 영아의 정서성과 어머니의 반응이 영아의 사회정서 행동에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났으며, 같은 정도의 부정적 정서를 가진 영아라도 환경적 특성인 어머니의 반응에 따라 사회정서 행동의 정도가 다르게 나타났다. 마지막으로 영아의 부정적 정서에 대한 어머니의 반응은 영아의 정서성과 사회정서 행동 관계를 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 영아의 사회정서 행동은 영아가 생득적으로 갖고 태어나는 기질적 특성 뿐아니라 어머니의 변인에 의해 조절이 가능하며, 어머니의 반응이 영아의 부정적 정서성을 완화시켜줄 수 있는 완충적 역할을 할 수 있음을 의미한다.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between Toddlers'negative emotionality and mothers' parenting stress and the moderating roles of a husbands'cooperation, mother-teacher partnership, and other social support. The participants of this study were 248 mothers with toddlers aged 24-35 months. The method of research used was the questionnaire method. The collected data were mainly analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression analysis. The main results of this study were as follows. First, there were differences in mother's parenting stress according to individual characteristics such as mothers employment status, parenting costs, mother's feeling of pregnancy. Second, a moderator effect of a husbands' cooperation was found in the relationship between toddlers'negative emotionality and mothers' parenting stress. Therefore, it was confirmed that husband's cooperation is more of an important factor in nursing children with negative emotions than other support systems.

의복선택요인과 욕구와의 상관성에 관한 연구 -여대생을 중심으로- (A Study on the Relationship between Needs and Factors of Clothing Selection)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship between needs and factors of clothing Selection. 400 women students from 4 universities and colleges in Seoul were selected and tested. And Hwang Jeongkyu's Needs inventory test sheets for need inventory test and the questionnaire based on Lee Eunju's study for factors of clothing selection were given to the sample. The test data was computerized to get the relationship. The results are as follows: (I) Behavior of clothing selection according to expression of individuality correlated significantly with achievement, aggression, dominance, emotionality, exhibitionism, sex, and autonomy at the .01 level. (2) Behavior of clothing selection according to utility correlated significantly with abasement, and affiliation at the .01 level. and with emotionality at the .05 level, (3) Behavior of clothing selection according to economy correlated significantly with abasement, affiliation, dominance, emotionality, and exhibitionism at the .05 level, and with achievement at the .01 level. (4) Behavior of clothing selection according to modesty correlated significantly with abasement, exhibitionism, and sex at the .01 level. (5) Behavior of clothing selection according to conformity correlated significantly with abasement, emotionality, and autonomy at the .01 level, and with dominance at the .05 level.

  • 시험 불안은 인지적인 worry와 정서적인 emotionality 2요소를 갖고 있으며 상황에 특정한 인격 성향으로 정의되어 왔다. 정서적, 인지적 요소를 수정하려는 정도에 있어서 여러 치료가 다르고, 여러 치료가 치료적 기술의 영향이 예상된 궤적에 근거해서 인지-정서 연속선상에 따라서 놓여질 수 있게 되었다. 인지-정서 연속선상에 놓여진 여러 치료들과 학습 습관, 시험 치루는 기술과 모델링등이 검토되었다. 최근 시험 불안 치료 연구를 고찰하여 본 결과, 대부분 인지적 치료가 정서적 치료보다 시험 불안을 감소시키고 worry와 emotionality를 감소시키는데 더 효과적이라는 것이다.

Delay of Gratification in Infancy : Effects of Infants' Temperament and Parenting

  • The purpose of this study was to extend our understanding of the developmental antecedents of delay of gratification in infancy. The first goal was to examine direct effects of one feature of an infants’ temperament and of positive and negative parenting assumed at age one on children’s delay of gratification six months later. The second goal of the study was to test the interactive effect of early infant temperament and parenting on children’s delay of gratification. It was hypothesized that 1) less negative infants at 12 months would delay gratification longer six months later, 2) children of parents who provided more positive and sensitive feedback would delay gratification longer than children with parents who were more negative and less sensitive, and 3) there would be differential prediction of parenting for children who scored high and low in negative emotionality as infants. Toward this end, 81 infants were observed interacting at one year of age with their mothers and fathers during laboratory assessments to obtain measures of parenting and infant negative emotionality. At 18 months of age, the child’s capacity to delay touching attractive objects was measured. The main effects of infant negative emotionality and of mothering on children’s delay of gratification were not detected at standard levels of significance. Differential effects of parenting on children’s delay of gratification for infants with low or high negative emotionality, too, were not detected. However, the anticipated effect of fathering on delay of gratification was found in some analyses, indicating that the more positive fathering children received, the longer they could delay gratification in the laboratory six months later.

초등학생의 시험불안에 대한 학업적 자기효능감과 시험불안 대처방식의 상호작용효과 (The Interaction Effects on Test Anxiety of Elementary School Students by Academic Self-Efficacy and Test Anxiety Coping Styles)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the interaction effects of children's academic self-efficacy and to test their anxiety coping style in terms of their test anxiety. We conducted a questionnaire survey with 193 sixth-graders in an elementary school. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, the children were more worried about emotionality to test anxiety, and used problem-focused coping significantly more frequently than emotion-focused coping. In addition, female children demonstrated more emotionality and worry about test anxiety and used emotion-focused coping for test anxiety more frequently. Second, emotionality was higher when emotion-focused coping was used. In the case where the level of problem-focused coping was high, emotionality was higher when academic self-efficacy was high. Children's worry was lower when the level of problem-focused coping was high and when the level of emotion-focused coping was low. In female children, however, worry increased when the level of problem-focused coping was low and the level of emotion-focused coping was high.

초기 청소년의 정서능력과 뇌 정보처리 특성이 외현화 문제에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Emotionality and Characteristics of Information Processing in the Brain on Externalizing Behaviors among Early Adolescents)

  • 본 연구에서는 정서능력과 뇌반구 기능이 문제행동에 미치는 영향을 밝히는 것이 주된 목적이었다. 남자 중학생 1,050명을 연구의 대상으로 하여 정서능력척도검사(Trait Meta-Mood Scale), 뇌 정보처리 특성 검사(Brain Preference Indicator Test), 그리고 공격성과 비행은 한국판 아동자기보고 검사(Korea Youth Self Report-Child Behavior Check List)를 사용하여 조사 연구하였다 연구 대상은 초기청소년기에 해당하는 남녀 중학생 1,479명을 표집하였다. 연구결과 문제행동을 많이 가진 집단은 보통 아동들에 비해 정서능력 요인중 정서의 명확성이 유의미하게 낮았으며, 자신에 대한 정서 주의는 많이 기울이는 것으로 나타났다. 뇌정보 처리에서는 주로 우반구 우세적 정보처리를 많이 하는 것으로 나타났다 뇌정보처리 특성과 정서 명확성 그리고 정서주의가 문제행동의 하위 요인인 공격성향과 비행성향 모두 유의미하게 설명하는 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 성별과 정서개선, 성별과 정서명료의 상호작용효과가 나타나, 이 두 요인이 공격성과 비행에 영향을 주는 효과가 남자와 여자학생 간에 다르게 나타났다.

Parental Emotion Socialization in Military Families

  • Reintegration after military deployment is a significant family stressor. Guided by Eisenberg's heuristic model of socialization of emotions, the present study examined the relationships between parental emotion socialization, children's emotionality and children's internalizing symptoms using a military sample. It was also investigated whether gender of parents and children impacted parental emotion socialization. Questionnaires were gathered from 248 families with a 4-12 year old child (M = 7.78) in which a parent had been deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan. Children's emotionality was positively correlated with children's internalizing symptoms and non-supportive parental emotion socialization. Independent-t-tests and two-way ANOVAs showed that mothers reported more supportive reactions towards children's negative emotions than fathers. Father reports of expressive encouragement were positively associated with child reports of anxiety and depression. Child gender did not influence how parents responded to negative emotions. Implications and future directions were discussed.
