  • This study aims to clarify differences among the responses of users depending on variations in audio-visual landscape elements used to create amenities in residential areas. For the purpose, a laboratory experiment was performed to evaluate the emotions of subjects. As a result of subjective evaluation, it was found that the emotions of subjects were more significantly promoted in providing both sounds and images at the same time, than in providing images alone. In addition, as a result of comparing the variables of relativistic energy alpha waves have by measuring their brain waves, it was seen that alpha waves increased when providing harmonious sound sources with images, except for specific sound sources. Thus, it is considered that provision of sound sources capable of promoting human emotions can contribute greatly to improving the value of space for the sake of comfortable housing environment.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to provide information about Maumgongbu to meet the needs of people by analysing the concept of Maumgongbu in group counseling. Methods : This study was conducted using Walker and Avant's Concept Analysis Strategy. Dictionaries, Wonbuddhism's Kyunjions and literatures, and participants' journals were reviewed after enrolling in Onsarm maumgongbu group counseling. Results : The attributes of the Maumgongbu include emotion, object, self-reflection, attribution, and creativity. The antecedents of "Maumgongbu" are the conditions arising from negative emotions. The Maumgongbu helps people find the emotional causality of their inner self by self-reflecting, getting out of false belief, restoring positive emotions, maintaining healthy and warm relationships with oneself, family, friends and society. Above all, the Maumgongbu makes people experience tranquility and true happiness and activate their positive energy or power. Conclusions : If there is a clear indication of linkage to principles, attributions, precedents and consequences, and empirical referents to any of Maumgongbu programs, there is no doubt that our understanding of the human mind and lives will be greatly enriched. Furthermore, self-discipline and steadfast complements give us calmness, peacefulness and better quality of life.

  • An application of Gammatone auditory filterbank for emotion recognition from speech is described in this paper. Gammatone filterbank is a bank of Gammatone filters which are used as a preprocessing stage before applying feature extraction methods to get the most relevant features for emotion recognition from speech. In the feature extraction step, the energy value of output signal of each filter is computed and combined with other of all filters to produce a feature vector for the learning step. A feature vector is estimated in a short time period of input speech signal to take the advantage of dependence on time domain. Finally, in the learning step, Hidden Markov Model (HMM) is used to create a model for each emotion class and recognize a particular input emotional speech. In the experiment, feature extraction based on Gammatone filterbank (GTF) shows the better outcomes in comparison with features based on Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficient (MFCC) which is a well-known feature extraction for speech recognition as well as emotion recognition from speech.

  • We are exposed to the various external stimuli input from the environment, which cause emotional changes based on the characteristics of the stimuli. Unfortunately there are no quantitative results on relationship between human sensibility and the characteristics of physiological signals. The objective of this study was to quantify EEG signals evoked by auditory stimulation based on the assumption that the analysis of the variability on the characteristics of the EEG waveform may provide the significant information regarding changes in psychological states of the subject. The experiment was devised with seven experimental conditions, which are control and six different types of auditory stimulation. Six subjects were used to obtain EEGs while introducing auditory stimulation. Wavelet transformation was employed to analyze the EEG signals. The results showed that the reconstructed signals at the decomposition level revealed the different energy value on the EEG signal. Also, general patterns of EEG signals in rest state compare with negative and positive stimulus were found. This study could be extended to establish an algorithm which distinguishes psychophysiological states of the subjects exposed to the auditory stimulation.

  • The purpose of this study was to understand the subjective breastfeeding experience of primiparous women to identify how breastfeeding was started and to explore the process of breastfeeding. The Grounded theory methodology was used. Data was collected from 6 primiparous women who had breastfed their infants for at least over 8weeks, recently breastfeeding or having breatfed their infants within the last 6 months. With the permission of the subjects, the interviews were recorded and transcribed. The data were analysed in the framework of grounded theory method as mapped out by Strauss and Corbin(1990). 105 concepts and 21 subcategories were confirmed in the analysis. In the process of data analysis, "Identity as a mother" was found to be the core phenomenon. The 21 sub-categories were as follows : natural food, neighbour inducement, self purpose, good feeling, tenderness, breast pain, change of breast shape, physical discomfort, loss of physical energy, confirmation of maternal role, formation of affection feeling of adhesion, one body through coupling, tie, capacity, role performance, mental comfort, healthy mother, healthy infant, confidence of breast milk, feeling of satisfaction. The sub -categories were again grouped into 14 categories including infant nutritious food, formation of breastfeeding opportunity, feeling of satisfaction, injury of the breast, physical suffering, awareness of mothering, formation of maternal affection, connecting, coupling, acceptance, effort, emotional stability, mother and child health and feeling of achievement.hievement.

  • The most important goal of character animation is to efficiently control the motions of a character. Until now, many techniques have been proposed for human gait animation, and some techniques have been created to control the emotions in gaits such as "tired walking" and "brisk walking" by using parameter interpolation or motion data mapping. This paper proposes a human running model based on a one-legged hopper with a self-balancing mechanism. The proposed technique exploits genetic programming to optimize movement, and can be easily adopted to various character models. We extend the energy minimization technique to generate various motions in accordance with emotional specification.

  • There is a limit to technology of improving luminous intensity uniformity and glare, known as a weakness of existing LED lamp. Because of Using many LED, LED lamp not only waste energy but have bad effect on efficiency. Our goal is to develop security lights solution which is contented with suitable area in KS(Korean Industrial Standards) and to remove glare by combining asphere in optical system with different concept. To improve luminous intensity uniformity, a reflect mirror system was used after an aspheric optical system design for this study. We made a mirror and measured it after analysing luminance changes depend on aspheric shapes with simulation program to see if aspheric shapes effect luminance distribution. We made progress to find problems and improve them by comparing measured data and analysed data. This result of the study will contribute to industry of LED lighting through developing solution of emotional illumination of LED security lights by knowing the importance of reflectivity with this study and improving luminous intensity uniformity with solving the problem.
