  • Social Network Service has the sufficient potential can be widely and effectively used for various fields of society because of convenient accessibility and definite user opinion. Above all Twitter has characteristics of simple and open network formation between users and remarkable real-time diffusion. However, real analysis is accompanied by many difficulties because of semantic analysis in 140-characters, the limitation of Korea natural language processing and the technical problem of Twitter is own restriction. This thesis paid its attention to human's political attitudes showing permanence and assumed that if applying it to the analytic design, it would contribute to the increase of precision and showed it through the experiment. As a result of experiment with Tweet corpus gathered during the election of national assemblymen on 11st April 2012, it could be known to be considerably similar compared to actual election result. The precision of 75.4% and recall of 34.8% was shown in case of individual Tweet analysis. On the other hand, the performance improvement of approximately 8% and 5% was shown in by-timeline political attitude analysis of user.

  • The politics instruction, where utilizing an online game named 'Goonzu' as an instructional tool had been implemented to students from four classes of 5th grade during ten weeks. Four teachers participated in teaching the students and constructed curriculum by playing 'Goonzu' and analyzing the regular elemental school Politics curriculum before implementation. To verify effectiveness of the instruction, the survey, asking students' efficacy, interest and their cognitive changes of main elements that students considered when they elected their representatives, was conducted. Moreover opinions about this instruction from the students and the teachers were gathered through the forms of interview and short essay. As the results of this research, students' efficacy toward doing politic activities was significantly increased. However, m case of students' interests to this instruction, there was no significant difference despite of increase of the mean. Also, students put more weight on intrinsic e1ements(daigency, responsibility) of the representative in online election than offline election and the students, who took the course, stressed intrinsic elements more than other students.

  • In this paper, we overview the sample design, sampling error, non-response rate and prediction errors of the exit poll conducted for 2010 local elections and discusses how to detect a prediction bias in exit poll. To investigate the bias problem in exit poll in regional(Si-Do) level, we analyze exit poll data for 2007 presidential election and 2006 local elections as well as 2010 local elections in Korea. The measure of predictive accuracy A proposed by Martin et al.(2005) is used to assess the exit poll bias. The empirical studies based on three exit polls clearly show that there exits systematic bias in exit poll and the predictive bias of candidates affiliated to conservative party (such as Hannara-Dang) is serious in the specific regions. The result of this study on systematic bias will be very useful to improving the exit poll methodology in Korea.

  • In this paper, a new cluster configuration process is proposed. The energy consumption of sensor nodes is reduced by configuring the initial setup process only once with keeping the initial cluster. Selecting the highest power consumed node of the member nodes within the cluster to the header of next round can distribute power consumption of all nodes in the cluster evenly. With this proposed way, the lifetime of the USN is increased by the reduced energy consumption of all nodes in the cluster. Also, evenly distributed power consumptions of sensors are designed to improve the energy hole problem. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithms is confirmed through simulations.

  • This article is focused on the review of price reduction and measuring damages under the CISG together with the law relating to sale of goods in main countries when the goods delivered did not conform with the contract. And also reviewed on the election of remedies for the aggrieved party, that is, which one between the two remedies would provide more compensation for the non-conformity. This article can be summarized as below. 1. Price reduction has its principal significance when the buyer accepts non-conforming goods and plays important role only when the seller is not liable for the non-conformity because the same price reduction formula applies for all circumstances. Of course, the buyer must bear any further damages, such as shutdown expenses and other consequential damages. 2. If the seller is liable for the damages and the price level rises, the buyer normally will claim damages since this approach is much more favorable result than price reduction. 3. In case the seller is liable for the damages and the buyer suffers no consequential damages, if the price level falls, price reduction would provide more compensation for the non-conformity than would damages and if there is no change in the market level, the allowance for defects in the goods will be normally the same under the price reduction and damages. By the way, In case the seller is liable for the damages and the buyer suffers consequential damages, it is desired that the buyer firstly elect the price reduction and later seeks to claim for consequential losses when the price level falls and unchanged.

  • The purpose of this study is to employ a method called 'conflict impact assessment' to analyze the progress, background, cause and relevant issues of conflicts related with affordable housing for youth (Happiness Housing Project), a project that has been implemented since last May 2013, thereby identifying the relevant problems and draw out objectives for improvement. The researchers expect that this study will contribute to solving the current issues regarding Happiness Housing, and contribute to improving the quality of the government's policies. For the above purpose, literatures on Happiness Housing produced from August to November 2013 were reviewed, in-depth telephone or face-to-face interviews were conducted with personnel associated with project implementation in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transportation and LH, etc., and major interested parties including Yangcheon-gu residents. Key issues identified regarding Happiness Housing construction include: the way that the project was implemented, living quality of residents, impact on educational environment, inconsistence with existing plans, relatively high construction cost, insolvency of public corporations, land use fee issue with Korail, need of preliminary feasibility survey, securing sufficient amount for supply and issue of additional designation, likelihood of finishing construction in time and issues related with actual source of demand, etc. Through analysis of conflict development and positions of interested parties, the main causes of the conflicts were identified as follows: lack of deliberation on pledges during election, lack of viability review on pledges, lack of conflict management plans, one-way implementation without consent of interested parties, project plans established with no regard to local circumstances, frequent project revision, underwehlming level of conflict management. In order to address issues above, the following measures need to be taken: selecting election pledges based on actual effectiveness, thorough assessment on pledges by relevant departments, gradual implementation based on consideration of the actual circumstances, participation of key interested parties, consistent policy and adopting conflict management techniques that reflect the reality.

  • In a smart society, politicians analyze the big data of voters to build a favorable political positions. In other words, a variety of digital footprints uploaded in SNS or Internet are used to set the election strategies and political directions. In comparison, it is difficult for voters to extract intention information about how politicians are performing a political acts. Therefore, it is important that voters need to analyze what intention of politicians are like for two way interaction between voters and politicians. For this, in this paper, we want to do the identification by analyzing IT technologies to narrative styles of politicians who pursue relative advantages or gains compared to other competitors. The experiments will be carried out to identify about what relative advantages compared to other competitors by narrative styles of next presidential candidates who are expected to run into the next presidential election by analyzing the usual audio interviews.

  • Telephone surveys miss, among other people, those who live in homes without telephones, people who are away from home at the time of interview and people who refuse to be interviewed. Recently, mobile phone survey has emerged as “A replacement technology” to the old telephone survey method. Mobile survey enables us to do many things we could not do or could not afford to do before, and reatly enhance the efficiency if the opinion surveys. Very specifically, the mobile survey enables us to control respondent's accessability, interviewer bias and to do incredibly fast and at a affordable costs. The authors analyze the results of mobile-phone local election polls and ELSI bio-technology attitude survey. The authors describe their results, the methods they used, including the use of demographic and propensity weighting to correct for substantial biases in the raw, unweighted data. The results show that mobile survey can predict the election outcomes with approximately equal accuracy to that of the telephone poll after weighting. This paper also cautions readers not to assume that mobile survey can be used with equal success in other elections and emphasizes the need for continuing research to improve mobile survey methods in the future.

  • In Korea, quota sampling is mainly adopted in telephone surveys, instead of random sampling which requires call-back procedure and random selection of respondent within households. The contact mode based on the se $x^{*}$age quotas is economically more advantageous and less time-consuming. However, it lacks theoretical ground for valid statistical inference, so that it is hardly accepted in academic circles despite of widely spread practice. Subsequently, survey theoreticians argued that random sampling-based telephone surveys should be tried. In response, Research & Research (R&R), a private research company in Seoul, executed atelephone survey by random sampling mode for the prediction of 2002 Ulsan City Mayor Election. The aim of this case study is to find out various effects of the call-back rule with random selection of respondents by statistically re-analyzing R&R’s Ulsan Survey Data.s by statistically re-analyzing R&R’s Ulsan Survey Data.

  • We investigate and estimate the causal effect of the survey methods in telephone surveys for the 19th presidential election. For this causal study, we draw a causal graph that represents the causal relationship between variables. Then we decide which variables should be included in the model and which variables should not be. We explain why the research agency is a should-be variable and the response rate is a shouldnot-be variable. The effect of ARS can not be estimated due to data limitations. We have found that there is no significant difference in the effect of the proportion of cell phone survey if it is less than about 90 percent. But the support rate for Moon Jae-in gets higher if the survey is performed only by cell phones.
