The aim of this paper is to explore and understand, using in-depth interviews, the participant's motivation for becoming a math teacher, ways of dealing with university math knowledge and private tutoring experiences. In addition a larger aim is to understand how the individual's interest in mathematics and turing are linked to his/her larger personal tendencies contrasting secondary and university math learning. In-depth interviews were conducted with 6 pre-service teachers' subjective experiences focusing on motivation and feelings on mathematical knowledge and private tutoring. The output of this research consists of 3 cases, highlighting and conceptually developing the specific aspects under study; different ways in which individuals' involvement with the math learning and tutoring that might be connected with the ways of becoming teachers. Larger aspects of pre-service teachers' subjective experiences were sketched by contrasting the inner aspects of the individuals. Several suggestions were presented at the end with the possible research directions for math education.

Korean 8-grade-students who participated in the ICILS 2018 were educated in the 2009 revised curriculum, where the 'Informatics' subject was an optional course in the regular curriculum. In order to closely analyze the ICILS 2018 results, it was necessary to take into account the situation in Korea that related educational experiences may differ among students. This study surveyed the students' educational experiences related to Informatics subject in the context of individual and schools. The average scores of computer and information literacy (CIL) and computational thinking (CT) of the ICILS 2018 were analyzed and compared by students' educational experiences. As a result, the average CT score of students who experienced the coding and programming education was higher than those who did not. Also, the more time students took the Informatics subject, the higher the average CT scores were. Based on these results, this study discussed implications in terms of expanding computational thinking education for elementary and secondary education.

A school library is an institution that supports the school's educational objectives through various educational activities based on information resources, and teachers' perception is essential to connect resources and users. However, most studies have been conducted based on the self-perception of teacher librarians. This study aims to understand the effect of teachers' experience of library programs and cooperative classes with the school library on their perception of the school library roles and librarian teachers' professionalism. A questionnaire survey was conducted on 78 teachers at eight national and public high schools in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province, and the results were statistically analyzed using factor analysis and regression. As a result, it was found that the teachers' experiences affect their perception of the school library's roles, especially informational, educational, and cultural roles. Also, the teachers' experiences affect their perception of librarian teachers' educational support and library expertise. Based on the results, considerations in school library programs and cooperative classes were suggested to improve teachers' perception of the school library roles and librarian teachers' professionalism.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the simulation experiences of nursing baccalaureate students in their pediatric rotation. Methods: Fifty-three students responded to open-ended questions after three sessions of pediatric simulation experiences. The practice reflection notes of the students were also analyzed to identify educational outcomes coming from nursing simulation experiences. Results: The open-ended questions and practice reflection notes showed that simulated pediatric practice provided a virtual experience within safe environment. It also increased learning motivation, clinical decision making, and overall self-confidence of the nursing students. Conclusion: The findings of this study suggest that simulation can enhance the quality of nursing education through positive clinical experiences.

Purpose Recently, the tours and activities (TAA) market provided by online travel agencies (OTA) has grown rapidly and has become the third-largest in the travel industry. However, compared to its practical proliferation, TAA has not yet received much academic attention. This study aims to discuss the effect of the four domains (e.g., educational, entertainment, escapist, and esthetic experiences) of the experience economy on users' memorable tourism experiences (MTE), satisfaction, and loyalty in the context of TAA. Moreover, the study investigates how this mechanism varies depending on the tour guides' professional competency. Design/methodology/approach This study developed a research model based on the S-O-R framework. Using the survey method, data were collected from consumers who had experienced TAA offered by OTA more than once within one year. A total of 307 respondents (consumers) were used for the final analysis, and developed hypotheses were tested using a structural equation model technique. Findings The results of this study are as follows. First, educational, entertainment, and escapism experiences in the experience economy positively affect MTE. Second, within the experience economy, entertainment and esthetic experiences have a positive effect on satisfaction. Third, MTE positively influences satisfaction, repurchase intention, and recommendation intention. Fourth, satisfaction has a positive impact on repurchase and recommendation intentions. Finally, according to the level of tour guides' professional competency, there is a significant difference in the effect of escapism experience on MTE/satisfaction.

The study purposes to explore the effects of individual characteristics and home environments of children on their bilingual language aquisition, that is, to examine whether their English language competency is different from their Korean language competency depending on those variables. Thus English or Korean language competency of children who had had early exposure in English learning were studied in terms of child's individual characteristics such as age, gender, exposure period to English, intelligence, and experiences of visiting English-speaking countries, and home environments such as parental age, educational level, income level, their perceived English competency, their perceived significance of English and Korean language, and the frequency of using English at home. 72 children who went to English kindergarten were tested with Peabody Pictures Vocabulary Test-Revised (PPVT-R) in Korean version and in English version respectively. The results show that child's intelligence and experiences of visiting English-speaking countries influence their Korean language competency. Also child's age, exposure period to English and experiences of visiting English-speaking countries influence their English language competency. Moreover their mother's educational background, father's English fluency, mothers' English fluency, and the frequency of using English at home influence child's English language competency, whereas any variables did not influence child's Korean language competency. Accordingly, child's English and Korean language competencies are related to each other.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of human resource development on the job satisfaction and wage among employed workers. A sample of 3,578 employed workers was selected from Korea Labor Panel Data. For data analysis, t-test and multiple regression were used. The major findings were as follows: First, the employed workers who had experiences of human resource development had more certificates of job-related qualification, more employed in government-invested organization or foreign company regularly than the counterpart. Second, the employed workers' wage was affected by gender, age, educational attainment, as well as whether they had experiences of human resource development. Third, the factors that influence employed workers' job satisfaction were gender, age, educational attainment, job regularity, having certificate of job-related qualification or not, and having experiences of human resource development or not. From the findings, it can be concluded that the employed workers' wage and job satisfaction were improved by the human resource development.

The purpose of this study was to examine the factors affecting financial satisfaction of rural housewives. Data for this study were collected from 202 households living in 8 provinces. The results were as follows; 1) The most frequent financial problems experienced from expenditures on clothes(82.1%), lack of expense for social intercourse (61.47), and difficulty in purchasing durable goods(60.1%) in the order. 2) 44.6% of the respondents said they were satisfied with their net worth, and 21.6% of them confessed they had difficulties in debt redemption while 52.5% of them said they felt pressure about monthly payments of installments, which reveals that farm households find it hard to pay back short-term debt. 3) The path analysis was adopted to see the causal relations among the variables influenced the financial satisfaction. The variables of experiences of economic problems, educational background(graduated from middle school), saving, income, and age appeared to be important in the order of effectiveness. Among them, the variables of saying and experiences of economic problems showed a direct effect, and those of age and saving displayed an indirect effect with the experiences of economic problems as the parameter. From this findings, it is suggested that rural extension workers and educators should emphasize the importance of the financial plan in their educational programs.

The purpose of this study was to investigate social workers' personal experiences providing social support to multi-cultural family in a multi-cultural family center. The data were collected through in-depth interviews with 14 social workers at the multi-cultural family center, and were analyzed using a phenomenological research method. The major findings were as follows : The social workers' personal experiences with and understanding of social support were classified as 4 categories : 'source of emotional support to the multi-cultural family', 'diverse and systematic educational support', 'excessive demands on material support', and 'daily life support and connection with community network'. The social workers recognized emotional and educational support as essential factors in providing social support to multi-cultural family. However, the social workers' perceptions of material support derived from negative personal experiences stemming from excessive demands and misunderstanding for material support. These results showed that social workers at the multi-cultural family center provided multi-cultural families with social support and that they interacted with community support system and multi-cultural families to increase their satisfaction.

This qualitative study attempts to analyze the separation experiences of wild geese families from a social exchange perspective. The participants of this study were 16 mothers who lived apart from their partners for the purpose of educating their offspring. To collect data, in-depth interviews were conducted with the mothers about the decision-making process and the separation experiences. The results showed that there was a unique educational factor in Korea that affected wild geese families' decision on family separation. Geese families had to face psychological inconvenience caused by negative eyes from society. In addition, the fathers suffered loneliness and had difficulties in doing household chores, and the mothers experienced an overload of child parenting. On the other hand, emotional relationship between the husband and wife was enhanced, and the friendly relationship between a mother and her children was built. The biggest reward from the wild geese families turned out to be the educational achievement of their children.
