This study was performed to compare the educational needs of the families of the hospitalized children with respiratory problems and the degree of nurses' educational performances perceived by the families. The subjects consisted of 120 families with respiratory infected children in one university- affiliated hospital in Daegu. Data were collected through self-report questionnaires which were developed to investigate the educational needs of the families of the hospitalized children with respiratory problems and nurses' educational performances perceived by the families. The data were analyzed by an SPSS program. The results were as follows: 1. Among the educational needs of the families, the item of the diagnostic test was ranked as the highest one. Among the degree of nurses' educational performances perceived by the families, the item of the diagnosis was ranked as the highest one. 2. The educational needs of the families were very high, but the degree of nurses' educational performances perceived by families was relatively low. 3. The educational needs of the families were not influenced by the general characteristics of the subjects. These results suggest that the educational needs of the families was different to the degree of nurses' educational performances perceived by the families of the hospitalized children with respiratory problems. The purpose of this study is to examine how the mother's educational aspirations and household's characteristics have an effect on the likelihood of private educational expenditures and the amount of private educational expenditures. Factor analysis, probit and tobit analyses were used. The main findings can be summarized as the following: The mother's educational aspirations for intrinsic values is higher than for extrinsic values. The mother's educational aspirations for extrinsic values, household's assets, and residing in Seoul rather than residing in Incheon had significant positive effects on the likelihood of private educational expenditures. However, the child's birth order had a significant negative effect on the likelihood of private educational expenditures. The mother's educational aspirations for extrinsic values, the mother's education level, household's income, household's assets, and residing in Seoul rather than residing in Incheon had significant positive effects on the amount of private educational expenditures. However, the child's birth order had a significant negative effect on the amount of private educational expenditures. Findings from this study offer several implications. First, the mother's educational aspirations for extrinsic values rather than for intrinsic values has an effect on private educational expenditures. Unless the mother's educational aspirations have been changed to pursuing intrinsic values, the private educational expenditures cannot be reduced. Second, the polarization of the household's income and assets could bring about the polarization of private educational expenditures, which can lead to the intergenerational income polarization.

Since the inception of the platform business in educational contents, the prominence of the online educational video has flipped the educational environment. Educational contents have been produced on the internet and allowed learners to access more flexible and student-centered. In fact, the number of people watching the educational content online, such as TED talks and YouTube, has increased during the past decade. The ways of delivering the lecture and the course information in online educational videos are totally different from the traditional lectures. In this paper, we aimed to examine and categorize the online educational videos based on the user's engagement and interest in the course contents. For the study, a negative binomial regression analysis was applied to estimate the effects of the attributes of the traditional lectures by comparatively analyzing the educational videos online. Several values are determined as engaging factors in the online educational videos; hybrid production of education and entertainment, shorter duration, and the number of presenters. From the study, we suggests how to produce engaging educational contents which will appeal the attentions from the users.
