  • 쌀, 생선 및 표준 기준 배추시료 속에 함유된 수은의 함량을 두 개의 독립적인 분석 방법 즉, 과거 본 연구실에서 개발한 방법과 Sjostrand 방법에 의하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과는 시료의 종류에 따라서 서로 다른 매트릭스 효과를 보였다. 예를 들면 배추과 생선 시료는 같은 매티릭스 효과를 나타내었으나 쌀 시료는 이 두 종의 시료과 비교하여 다른 효과를 보였다.

THE REPRESENTATION AND PERTURBATION OF THE W-WEIGHTED DRAZIN INVERSE

  • Let A and E be $m{\times}n$ matrices and W an $n{\times}m$ matrix, and let $A_{d,w}$ denote the W-weighted Drazin inverse of A. In this paper, a new representation of the W-weighted Drazin inverse of A is given. Some new properties for the W-weighted Drazin inverse $A_{d,w}\;and\;B_{d,w}$ are investigated, where B=A+E. In addition, the Banach-type perturbation theorem for the W-weighted Drazin inverse of A and B are established, and the perturbation bounds for ${\parallel}B_{d,w}{\parallel}\;and\;{\parallel}B_{d,w}-A_{d,w}{\parallel}/{\parallel}A_{d,w}{\parallel}$ are also presented. When A and B are square matrices and W is identity matrix, some known results in the literature related to the Drazin inverse and the group inverse are directly reduced by the results in this paper as special cases.

Shape morphing and adjustment of pantographic morphing aerofoil section structure

  • This study concerns with morphing structures, e.g. as applied in the aerospace industry. A morphing aerofoil structure capable of variable geometry was developed, which was shown to be able to cater for the different aerodynamic requirements at different stages of flight. In this work, the useful and relatively simple method has been applied, which provides a direct method for calculating required morphing shape displacements via finding the most effective bar through calculating bar sensitivity to displacement and calculating set of length actuations for bar assembly to control/adjust shape imperfection of prestressable structural assemblies including complex elements ("macro-elements", e.g., the pantographic element), involving Matrix Condensation. The technique has been verified by experiments on the physical model of an aerofoil shaped morphing pantographic structure. Overall, experimental results agree well with theoretical prediction. Furthermore, the technique of multi-iteration adjustment was presented that effective in eliminating errors that occur in the practical adjustment process itself. It has been demonstrated by the experiments on the physical model of pantographic morphing structure. Finally, the study discusses identification of the most effective bars with the objective of minimal number of actuators or minimum actuation.

First-principles study of dissociation processes of O2 molecular on the Al (111) surface

  • The trajectories of adsorption and dissociation process of $O_2$ on the Al (111) surface were studied by the spinpolarized ab initio molecular dynamics method, and the adsorption activation energy was clarified by the NEB method with hybrid functionals. Three typical dissociation trajectories were found through simulation of $O_2$ molecule at different initial positions. When vertically approaches to the Al surface, the $O_2$ molecule tends to rotate, and the activation energy is 0.66eV. If $O_2$ molecule does not rotate, the activation energy will increase to 1.43 eV, and it makes the O atom enter the Al sublayer eventually. When the $O_2$ molecules parallel approach to the Al surface, there is no activation energy, due to the huge energy released during the adsorption process.

  • 당 대사에 관여하는 Pyruvate dehydrogenase phosphatase (PDP)는 해당과정에서의 대사 산물인 pyruvate 를 acetyl CoA로 만들어 구연산 회로로 진입시켜주는 효소인 Pyruvate dehydrogenase complex(PDP)의 활성을 조절하는 중요한 효소이다. PDP의 catalytic subunit는 PDP의 dihydrolipoamide acetyltransferase(E2), PDP regulatory subunit (PDPr), 그리고 칼슘 결합 도메인 등으로 구성되어 있는 것으로 추측되어지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 PDP 단백질을 분리정제하고 결정화 하고자하였다. PDP는 catalytic subunit(PDPc, Mr 52,600 Da)과, regulatory subunit (PDPr, 95,600 Da)으로 구성되어 있으며 칼슘 존재하에 PDPc는 dihydrolipoamide acetyltransferase(E2) component와 결합하여 기질인 인산 E1 component의 탈인산화율을 증가시킨다. PDPc는 intrinsic 칼슘 결합부위를 가지며 두 번째 칼슘 부위는 E2 존재 하에 형성된다. 이러한 특이한 상호반응을 이용한 GSH-Sepharose-GST-L2 matrix를 이용하여 약 1000 U/mg의 specific activity를 갖는 순수 PDPc를 약 80%의 yield로 얻어 결정화에 사용하였다.

단섬유보강 금속복합재료의 반복적 변형 및 피로특성 (Cyclic Deformation and Fatigue Behavior of Short Fiber Reinforced Metal Matrix Composites)

  • Al6061 alloy reinforced with 15 volume% of Saffil fibers was fabricated by squeeze infiltration method. Uniform distribution of reinforcements and good bondings between reinforcements and matrix alloy were found in the microstructure of composites. Comparing with A16061 matrix alloy, tensile strength and elastic modulus of $Al_{2}$O$_{3}$/Al composites were increased up to 26% and 31%, respectively. Cyclic deformation and fatigue behavior of $Al_{2}$O$_{3}$/Al metal matrix composites were studied. The specimens were cycled using tension-tension(R=0.1) loading and under load controlled fatigue test. Cyclic stress-displacement curve through fatigue test was obtained. Fatigue strength of $Al_{2}$O$_{3}$/Al composites was about 200 MPa, i.e.0.55 of applied stress level(q). During fatigue test, $Al_{2}$O$_{3}$/Al composites displayed cyclic hardening at all applied stress levels. The most of resultant displacement due to permanent plastic deformation occurred in less than the first 5% of fatigue life. Displacement-to-failure of the fatigue test was smaller than that of the tensile test because of accumulative damage by cumulative plastic deformation.

이중조직을 갖는 Y-TZP/Y-TZP-$Al_2O_3$ 복합체의 열충격 거동 (The Thermal Shock Behaviors of Y-TZP/Y-TZP-Al2O3 Composites having Dual Microstructure)

  • Duplex composites such as Y-TZP/Y-TZP-20 wt.% Al2O3 and Y-TZP/Y-TZP- 40 wt.% Al2O3 were made by mixing the sieve-shaked granules followed by isostatic pressing and sintering at 150$0^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour. So Y-TZP became matrix region and Y-TZP-20 wt.% Al2O3 or Y-TZP-40 wt.% Al2O3 became dispersed regions. In these composites, propagating cracks due to thermal shock always run into the dispersed region because these regions act as compressive zone due to low thermal expansion than matrix region. So duplexes having dispersed regions of Y-TZP-40 wt.% Al2O3 showed higher retained strength after thermal shock than matrix only composites because crack propagations were stopped more or less in the dispersed region. But when crack propagations were much more easy than matrix like Y-TZP-20 wt.% Al2O3 region, retained strength was decreased than the matrix only composites despite of the low initial strength.

Blind channel equalization using fourth-order cumulants and a neural network

  • This paper addresses a new blind channel equalization method using fourth-order cumulants of channel inputs and a three-layer neural network equalizer. The proposed algorithm is robust with respect to the existence of heavy Gaussian noise in a channel and does not require the minimum-phase characteristic of the channel. The transmitted signals at the receiver are over-sampled to ensure the channel described by a full-column rank matrix. It changes a single-input/single-output (SISO) finite-impulse response (FIR) channel to a single-input/multi-output (SIMO) channel. Based on the properties of the fourth-order cumulants of the over-sampled channel inputs, the iterative algorithm is derived to estimate the deconvolution matrix which makes the overall transfer matrix transparent, i.e., it can be reduced to the identity matrix by simple recordering and scaling. By using this estimated deconvolution matrix, which is the inverse of the over-sampled unknown channel, a three-layer neural network equalizer is implemented at the receiver. In simulation studies, the stochastic version of the proposed algorithm is tested with three-ray multi-path channels for on-line operation, and its performance is compared with a method based on conventional second-order statistics. Relatively good results, withe fast convergence speed, are achieved, even when the transmitted symbols are significantly corrupted with Gaussian noise.

Strengthening of C/C Composites through Ceramer Matrix

  • The polymer-ceramic hybrid, known as 'ceramer', was synthesized by a sol-gel process by incorporating different amount of alkoxide as source of silicon in resorcinol-formaldehyde in presence of basic catalyst to get different percentage of silicon in ultimate carbonized composites. FTIR of the ceramer confirms that it is a network of Si-O-Si, Si-O-$CH_2$ and Si-OH type groups linked with benzene ring. Different amount of silicon in the ceramer exhibits varying temperature of thermal stability and lower coefficient of thermal expansion as compared to pure resorcinol-formaldehyde resin. The lower value of CTE in ceramer is due to existence of silica and resorcinol -formaldehyde in co-continuous phase. Unidirectional composites prepared with ceramer matrix and high-strength carbon fibers show lower value of flexural strength at polymer stage as compared to those prepared with resorcinol-formaldehyde resin. However, after heat treatment to $1450^{\circ}C$, the ceramer matrix composites show large improvement in the mechanical properties, i.e. with 7% silicon in the ceramer, the flexural strength is enhanced by 100% and flexural modulus value by 40% as compared to that of pure resorcinol-formaldehyde resin matrix composites.

환경영향평가에서 있어서 신속영향평가(RIAM) 기법 적용방안 (Application of Rapid Impact Assessment Matrix for Environmental Impact Assessment)

  • The rapid impact assessment matrix (RIAM) might be a new tool for performance of an environmental impact assessment (EIA), comparing with many traditional methods of EIA, which have produced large reports setting out the subjective judgement reached by the assessors. The main criticisms of E1A are in part a natural result of the traditional method used. RIAM uses a structured matrix to allow for such judgement, both subjective and those based on quantitative data, to be made on a like-by-like basis, and provided a transparent and permanent record of the judgement made. Also, the computerized RIAM system using software program allows for the matrix to be shown in graphical form, which greatly enhances the clarity of the results produced by this method. RIAM provides a system by which development options and scenarios can be rapidly evaluated. To illustrate the use of RIAM, an example from an EIA study using application of scoping by assessment criteria in Environmental Impact Regulation of Korea was given. The criteria that might be used to evaluation EIA methods, and how RIAM measures up against these criteria, are discussed.
