  • Substructures position is considered as design parameter to obtain optimal structural changes to raise its dynamic characteristics. In conventional SDM (structural dynamics modification) method, the layout of modifying substructures position is first fixed and at that condition the structural optimization is performed by using the substructures size and/or material property as design parameters. But in this paper as a design variable substructures global translational and rotational position is treated. (omitted)

  • Structural Dynamics Modification is very effective technique to improve structure's dynamic characteristics by adding or removing auxiliary structures, changing material property, changing shape of structure. In this research, using the surface grooving technique, shape of base structure was changed to improve its first natural frequency. Utilizing the result of sensitivity analysis, groove shape was formed gathering the many small embossing elements. For this process, Sensitivity Criterion Factor was introduced. To reduce its amount of calculation, the range of target area was restricted to their neighboring area and that result was very successful.

  • It is very difficult to execute the vibration analysis of a huge structure, which takes up much time and expense. In this paper we intend to make the equivalent system of a local vibration system of a huge structure with a view to improving the dynamic characteristics and reducing time and expense. First of all, upper deck structure model is maded. And we perform the vibration analysis by the Substructure Synthesis Method and execute the exciting test for the upper deck structure model, and observe the coincidences of two results to confirm the reliability of the analyzing tools used. To make the equivalent system, we give boundary condition to sub-structure that want to be modified and execute the Sensitivity Analysis Method and the Optimum Structural Modification Method. And we execute the structural modification of the equivalent system.

  • Interaction of a pathogen with its host plant requires both flexibility and rapid shift in gene expression programs in response to environmental cues associated with host cells. Recently, a growing volume of data on the diversity and ubiquity of internal RNA modifications has led to the realization that such modifications are highly dynamic and yet evolutionarily conserved system. This hints at these RNA modifications being an additional regulatory layer for genetic information, culminating in epitranscriptome concept. In plant pathogenic fungi, however, the presence and the biological roles of RNA modifications are largely unknown. Here we delineate types of RNA modifications, and provide examples demonstrating roles of such modifications in biology of filamentous fungi including fungal pathogens. We also discuss the possibility that RNA modification systems in fungal pathogens could be a prospective target for new agrochemicals.

  • This paper deals with dynamic tensile characteristics for the polypropylene used in an IP(Instrument Panel). The polypropylene is adopted in the dash board of a car, especially PAB(Passenger Air Bag) module. Its dynamic tensile characteristics are important because the PAB module undergoes high speed deformation during the airbag expansion. Since the operating temperature of a car varies from $-40^{\circ}C$ to $90^{\circ}C$ according to the specification, the dynamic tensile tests are performed at a low temperature($-30^{\circ}C$), the room temperature($21^{\circ}C$) and a high temperature($85^{\circ}C$). The tensile tests are carried out at strain rates of six intervals ranged from 0.001/sec to 100/sec in order to obtain the strain rate sensitivity. The flow stress decreases at the high temperature while the strain rate sensitivity increases. Tensile tests of polymers are rather tricky since polymer does not elongate uniformly right after the onset of yielding unlike the conventional steel. A new method is suggested to obtain the stress-strain curve accurately. A true stress-strain curve was estimated from modification of the nominal stress-strain curves obtained from the experiment. The modification was carried out with the help of an optimization scheme accompanied with finite element analysis of the tensile test with a special specimen. The optimization method provided excellent true stress-strain curves by enforcing the load response coincident with the experimental result. The material properties obtained from this paper will be useful to simulate the airbag expansion at the normal and harsh operating conditions.

  • Unlike ordinary vehicle chassis frame, chassis frame of military vehicle is long and that is operated in harsh driving environment in middle of war. Thus, because large dynamic loads is acting on the frame, it is important to secure the durability of the frame based on the structural dynamic characteristic analysis. The purpose of the study is that the chassis frame is optimized to secure durability of the chassis frame of the military vehicle according to the structural dynamic characteristic analysis. Also, structure optimization are performed using parametric optimization and topology optimization methods.

  • For an analytic investigation on the dynamic behaviour of the eccentric piston and roller in the cylinder of small rotary vane compressors the hydrodynamic lubrication theory is opplied, analogous to the dynamic analysis of a engine bearing. An adequate modification of the equation of journal motion permits stable convergencies of the numeric calculation of the journal orbits. The increase of the outer diameter of the roller and the eccentricity of the piston gives a relative large decrease of the minimum gap between the roller and cylinder.

  • The relative degree one and weakly minimum-phase conditions have been major obstacles for passification of the given system. In this paper, a dynamic output feedback passifier which can remove the obstacles is presented. The proposed method does not require any modification of the given output except just adding a new term. Therefore, the scheme is more suitable for output feedback passification.

  • This study presents the design modification for SCR muffler of a commercial vehicle. Its main objective is the reduction of radiated noise at SCR muffler. For this study, the research of five steps were achieved by experimental and CAE analysis. First step is the measurement of radiated noise using impact-acoustic test. Second step is the source identification using experimental modal analysis. The cause of radiated noise source is confirmed by the resonance of end plates at SCR muffler. Third step confirms the possibility of resonance avoidance using SDM analysis applied the mass control. Fourth step is the suggestion of design modification which is the change of mode shape by CAE analysis. Last step is the verification of design modification using SYSNOISE analysis. Finally, the prototype product applied the countermeasure of resonance evasion was manufactured and the reduction of radiated noise at SCR muffler was confirmed by pass-by noise test.
