  • Digital Rights Management (DRM) technology has been widely used for protecting the digital contents over the recent years. But the digital contents protected by DRM are vulnerable to various video memory capture programs when DRM packaged contents are decrypted on the consumers' multimedia devices. To make up for this kind of DRM security holes the Forensic Marking (FM) technology is being deployed into the content protection area. Most leading DRM companies as well as big electronics companies like Thomson and Philips already have commercial FM solutions. Forensic Marking technology uses the digital watermarking to insert the user information such as user id, content playing time and etc. into the decrypted and decoded content at the playback time on the consumer devices. When the content containing watermarked user information (Forensic Mark) is illegally captured and distributed over the Internet, the FM detection system takes out the inserted FM from the illegal contents and informs contents service providers of the illegal hacker's information. In this paper the requirements and test conditions are discussed for the commercial Forensic Marking systems.

  • This study aimed to investigate the mediating effect of perception of human rights victimization between school violence victimization and self-esteem of adolescents. For this study, 554 adolescents were surveyed at B county of Korea from September to November in 2015. Main results of this study were as follows. First, it was found out that school violence victimization was significantly different depending on school level. And perception of human rights victimization was significantly different depending on regions. But self-esteem was not. Second, school violence victimization and human rights victimization were positively correlated. And school violence victimization and self-esteem were negatively correlated. Third, perception of human rights victimization was perfectly mediated between school violence victimization and self-esteem of adolescents. Lastly, policy implications for the students with lower self-esteem due to school violence victimization were suggested.

  • This study was to examine the recognition and guarantee for psychiatric patients' rights of mental health care workers. The participants of this study were 231 mental health care workers from 10 mental health care institutions located in J city, Korea. Data was collected using questionnaires consisting of one instrument measuring participants' recognition and guarantee for psychiatric patients' rights, and participants' characteristics. Collected data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA with SPSS 12.0. The results of this study showed the mental healthcare workers' recognition and guarantee were significantly different in every subscales. Besides, the difference between recognition and guarantee toward psychiatric patients' rights was significantly associated with participants' occupations. Based on the findings, guiding where nursing education efforts should be focused to help putting in place the psychiatric patients' rights.

  • The objective of the study was to determine the mediation effects of hope and grit in the relationship between human rights damage and self-esteem. A sample of students was recruited from two universities in Korea. For data analysis, SPSS PC+ and SPSS PROCESS macro were used. Frequency, reliability, correlation and mediating effect analysis were performed. Bootstrap technique was done to verify the mediating effect. Results showed as follows. First, grit, self-esteem and hope were negatively correlated with human rights damage, but grit, self-esteem and hope were positively correlated with each other. Second, hope and grit mediated in the relationship between human rights damage and self-esteem. For further research, it was discussed how university students who experienced human rights abuses could use grit and hope to maintain their lowered self-esteem.

  • In this paper, we proposed the digital contents distribution business model for the operation of integration between heterogeneous systems in order to use IPTV. Also, we designed and implemented the protection management system through this distribution business model. This proposed model maintains interoperability between the heterogeneous systems, creates rights protection document based on REL, and provides the new version of packaged digital contents to itself by packaging the digital contents. Overall, it ultimately offers an interoperable environment. Moreover, since we pre-defines the relations among REL data based on MPEG-21 standard, which creates the newly packaged digital contents, it is easy to edit data. We can expect to save expenses of digital contents distribution and rights protection technology. Additionally, we can further improve security by encapsulating the security technology of CAS and DRM system.

  • Copyright is challenged by the rapid development of digital technology. This study investigated a number of new copyright-related issues : electrocopying, digital transmission, legal definition of multimedia, moral right, fair use et al. To use copyright works we need licensing of rights and permissions. Then at this paper we examined the scopes and contents of permission with copyright owners or publishers, also considered relationships of copyright owners with distributors and end-users. Finally, to protect rights of copyright owners and use freely copyright works, we suggested introduction of 'collective management system of copyright' and construction of 'copyright management information system' .

  • As the number of digital content service providers increases, a variety of digital rights management (DRM) systems appear without supporting interoperability. The lack of interoperability in DRM systems causes inconvenience to customers, especially when they want to play content through multiple devices manufactured by different vendors. In this letter, we propose a novel method to support interoperability between different DRM systems. The proposed technique aims to build an open framework structure which satisfies DRM vendors' requirements by enhancing the security of intellectual property management and the protection tools.

  • Currently broadcasting and telecommunication has integrated, And IPTV Service has appeared who called TPS(Triple Play Service) which integrated with broadcasting, telecommunication and Phone Service. IPTV provide broadcasting service and VOD(Video on Demand) service, and it must be satisfied digital content security. For this condition, IPTV Forum working on standardization of interface for digital content security. The Security solution for broadcasting and VOD are CAS (Conditional Access System) and DRM(Digital Rights Management). But these solutions manufactured by many vendors, so there is no inter-operability. And after finished standardization of interface for CAS and DRM system, the problem of inter-operability with them will be issued. For this reason, Rights management system which possible to operate independently with platform is necessary. In this paper, To protect multimedia digital content, we designed and implemented Conditional Access Management System.

  • This study looked at the conflict between the aspect of the use of personally non-identifiable information for the development of the big data industry and the digital advertising industry and the aspect of personal information protection. In order to achieve the research purpose, this study focused on literature research such as thesis, legal texts, administrative regulations, and recent media articles. As a result of this study, the main issues related to the protection of personally non-Identifiable Information in digital behavioral advertising were 'conflict between freedom of advertising expression and personal rights', 'personalization of unidentifiable information', 'information imbalance'. In this regard, as measures to protect personally non-identifiable information in digital behavioral advertising, it was proposed to 'harmonize with freedom of advertising expression and personal rights, 'improve notification and consent. process', and 'reinforce the right to control personal information'.
