YAG:Ce yellow phosphor particles were synthesized by spray pyrolysis with changing the solution properties and their luminous properties, crystal structure, and morphological changes were studied by using PL measurement, XRD, and SEM analysis. It was clear that the solution properties significantly affected the crystal phase, crystallite size, the PL intensity, and the morphology of YAG:Ce particles. At low calcination temperature, the addition of urea only to the spray solution was helpful to form a pure YAG phase without any impurity phases, as the result, the highest luminescence intensity was achieved at the calcination temperature of $900^{\circ}C$. When the calcination temperatures were larger than $1300^{\circ}C$, however, the YAG particles prepared without any additive showed the highest luminescent intensity. Regardless of the solution conditions, the emission intensity of YAG:Ce particles prepared by spray pyrolysis showed a linear relation with the crystallite size. In terms of the morphology of YAG:Ce particles, the addition of both DCCA and $NH_4OH$ to the spray solution was effective to prepare a spherical and dense structured YAG particles.
We examined the morphology of the fertilized egg and the fine structure of fertilized egg envelopes of Poropanchax normani belonging to the family Poeciliidae, also known as Norman's lampeye using light and electron microscopes. The fertilized eggs with narrow perivitelline space were found to be spherical and demersal, additionally containing small oil droplets in the vitelline membrane. Further, a bundle of adhesive filaments was observed to be present on one side of the fertilized egg. These filaments possessed remarkably high elasticity and were approximately 1-3mm in length. The size of the fertilized egg was determined to be about 1.49 ± 0.07mm (n=30). The outer surface appeared smooth, and adhesive filaments originating at different location of the surface of the envelope were found to be distributed around the egg envelope and were joined together to form a single long bundle in scanning electron microscopic observation. A peak-like structure formed of several straight wrinkles was observed around the micropyle. However, the complete structure of the micropyle could not be studied due to the depth at which it was located. Additionally, the total thickness of the egg envelope was ascertained to be approximately12.5-14.5㎛. The egg envelope consisted of two distinct layers, an outer electron dense layer and an inner lamellar layer, further consisting of 10 sublayers of varying thicknesses. Collectively, it was observed that the morphological characteristics of the fertilized egg, fine structures surrounding the micropyle, outer surface, adhesive structure consisting adhesive filaments, and sections of fertilized egg envelope displayed species specificity.

A study on induction plasma deposition with ceramic materials, yttria-stabilized-zirconia ZrO$_2$-Y$_2$O$_3$ (m.p 264O $^{\circ}C$), was conducted with a view developing a new method for nuclear fuel fabrication Before making dense pellets more than 96%TD., the spraying condition was optimized through the process parameters, such as chamber pressure, plasma plate power powder spraying distance, sheath gas composition, probe position, particle size and powders different morphology. The results with a 5mm thick deposit on rectangular planar graphite substrates showed a 97.11% theoretical density when the sheath gas flow rate was Ar/H$_2$120/20 l/min, probe position 8cm, particle size -75 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and spraying distance 22cm by AMDRY146 powder. The degree of influence of the main effects on density were powder morphology. particle size, sheath gas composition, plate power and spraying distance, in that order. Among the two parameter interactions, the sheath gas composition and chamber pressure affects density greatly. By using the multi-pellets mold wheel type, the pellet density did not exceed 94%T.D., owing to the spraying angle.
The ultrastructural characteristics of germ cells during spermatogenesis and mature sperm morphology in male Pinctada martensii were investigated by transmission electron microscope observation. The morphologies of the sperm nucleus and the acrosome of this species are the oval shape and cone shape, respectively. Spermatozoa are approximately $47-50{\mu}m$ in length including a sperm nucleus (about $1.24{\mu}m$ in length), an acrosome (about $0.60{\mu}m$ in length), and tail flagellum (about $45-47{\mu}m$). The axoneme of the sperm tail shows a 9+2 structure. In P. martensii in Pteriidae, a special substructure showing a thick and wide triangular shape which is composed of electron-dense opaque material (occupied about 50% of all, the upper part of the acrosomal vesicle), appeared in the upper region (part) of the acrosomal vesicle, while the lower region (part) of the acrosomal vesicle is composed of electron-lucent material. Thus, this special structure, which exist in the upper part of the acrosomal vesicle in P. martensii, is somewhat different from those of other subacrosomal vesicle in other families in subacrosomal vesicles. Therefore, we assume that the existence of a special substructure showing a thick and wide triangular shape in the acrosomal vesicle of the spermatozoon can be used as a key characteristic for identification of P. martensii or other species in Pteriidae in subclass Pteriomorphia. The number of mitochondria in the midpiece of the sperm of this species are five (exceptionally sometimes four), as one of common characteristics appear the same number of mitochondria in the same families of superfamilyies. This species in Pteriidae does not contain the axial rod and satellite fibres which appear in the species in Ostreidae in subclass Pteriomorphia. These characteristics can be used for the taxonomic analysis of the family or superfamily levels as a systematic key or tools.
An asymmetric microfiltration membranes were prepared with polysulfone by an immersion precipitation phase inversion method. Microfiltration membranes were prepared by polysulfone/N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone/polyvinylpyrrolidone/phosphoric acid casting solution and water coagulant. The vapor induced phase inversion method was used to prepare the membranes. The pore size and the morphology were changed by the phosphoric acid additive, the temperature of casting plate and the exposure time at the relative humidity of 74%. The morphology of membranes was investigated by scanning electron microscopy and microflow permporometer. By the addition of the phosphoric acid additive in the casting solution, the morphology of the prepared membranes were changed from a dense sponge structure to a loose asymmetric sponge structure. Due to the addition of catalytic amount of phosphoric acid to NMP casting solution, the mean pore size increased almost $0.2{\mu}m$ and the water flux increased about 3,000 LMH. The temperature of casting plate and exposure time had a apparent effect on the skin layer structure and the pore size and the porosity of the membrane.
Ultrastructural studies of germ cell development during spermatogenesis and taxonomic values in mature sperm morphology of Argopecten irradians irradians were investigated by transmission electron microscopic observations. In the early stage of spermatid during spermiogenesis, a few granules and proacrosomal granules are formed by the Golgi complex. In the late stage of spermatid during spermiogenesis, a proacrosomal vesicle becomes an acrosomal vesicle in the acrosome through spermiogenesis. The sperm is approximately $ 45-48{\mu}m$ in length including a jar-shaped sperm nucleus (about $1.45{\mu}m$ long), an acrosome (about $0.34{\mu}m$ long) and tail flagellum. The axoneme of the sperm tail shows a 9+2 structure. As one of common characteristics of mature sperm morphologies in Pectinidae species in subclass Pteriomorphia, mature spermatozoon consists of the cone-shaped acrosomal vesicle and subacrosomal material on the invaginated jar-shaped nucleus. The acrosomal vesicle of this species is composed of electron high dense opaque part (material) from the base to the tip, as have seen in the species in the subclass Pteriomorphia. Exceptionally, five mitochondria are found in the sperm midpiece of this species, unlike four in most species of Pectinidae in subclass Pteriomorphia. However, the acrosomal vesicle of spermatozoa of A. irradians irradians resemble to those of other investigated Pectinidae species in subclass Pteriomorphia. Therefore, we can use sperm morphology as a tool in the resolution of taxonomic relationships within the Pectinidae species. These morphological charateristics of acrosomal vesicle belong to the family Pectinidae in the subclass Pteriomorphia.

Description of spore morphology of Korean Polypodiaceae has on LM and SEM and key to the genera are provided. Korean Polypodiaceae monad, monolete with bilateral symmetry, bipolar and oblete spore except for Loxogramme grammitoides having trilete spore with radial symmetry. In spore wall structure, exopore showed variable patterns enough to distinguish genera. Perispore was found in all the species examined. The patternof perispore and exospore was most similar in all the species examined except Crypsinus, Pyrrosia hastata ans P. linearifolia. The perispores of Crypsinus, Pyrrosia hastata and P. linearifolia were echinate and gemmate, rugulate, and verrucate respectively. In term of exospore wall sculpturing, Polypodium and Loxogramme showed fossulate, Lepisorus, rugulate with irregular verrucate, Crypsinus ans Coloysis showed psilate or rarely verrucate in the latter, Neocheiropteris ensata showed dense small verrucate, Lemmaphyllum microphyllum showed complex reticulate and Pyrrosia showed verrucate or psilate.
Integumentary structure of the amberjack, Seriola dumerili, was examined by light and transmission electron microscopy. Integument of the amberjack consists of epidermal and dermal layers. The epidermal thickness is about $28.32{\mu}m$. The epidermal layer could be classified into superficial, intermediate, and basal layers by morphology and position of the supporting cells. Secretory cells of the epidermal layer were classified into mucous cells and club cells in the amberjack. Mucous cells contained acidic mucous and were alcian-blue positive with AB-PAS (pH 2.5) reaction. The club cells contained well-developed rough endoplasmic reticula and large central vacuole. Also, filament-rich cells were identified in the epidermal layer. The dermal layer consists mainly of collagenous fiber, and it contains fibrocytes and pigment cells. The cytoplasm of fibrocyte had a well-developed rough endoplasmic reticulum. The pigment cells contained electron-dense melanin granules.
We present mm observations with the IRAM 30m radiotelescope of the HCN (J=1-0) and HCO+ (J=1-0) emission lines from Giant Moleculat Clouds (GMC) in the disk of the Andromeda Galaxy, The selected GMC targets have various morphology and environments, including locations within spiral arms or in interarm regions and with galactocentric radii ranging from 2.4 to 15.5 kpc over the disk. The radial distributions of the ratios HCN/CO and HCO+ /CO are discussed and their values are compared to other galaxies.

Thin film of $SnO_2$ was fabricated from plasma enhanced atomic layer deposition technology with bubbler type injector system by using TEMASn (tetrakisethylmethylamino tin) precursor. Mostly crystalline of $SnO_2$ films can be obtained with oxygen plasma and with water at relatively low temperature of $150^{\circ}C$. $SnO_2$ was deposited as an uniform rate of $1.0A^{\circ}$/cycle. In order to obtain uniform film, a seed oxide material was used before TEMASn deposition in ALD process. The process parameters were controlled to obtain dense thin film by atomic deposition methodology. The morphology and characterization of thin film with optimized process condition will be discussed.
