  • Adequate Co-ordination between Generator Speed Governor and AGC plays major role in maintaining a Frequency Stability. Recently frequency instability cases were recorded when power system was unbalanced between generation and demand in Korea. The paper deals with the concept of Generator frequency control logic & AGC algorithm for determining generator output target. Consequently the paper presents the improvement of EMS AGC control for stable frequency recovery in case of generator disturbance.

  • An operational strategy for inventory control on finished goods in the distribution system has been given attention to many enterprises and many studies regarding this field have been done and is also on-going currently. Many of these studies represented a large scale distribution network with a unified formulation by using defined symbols. These methods have provided the systematic approach of the distribution network but they are impossible to applying the reality system due to not considering the service rate of demand and treating the shortage of inventory. In order to overcome these unrealistic problems, the novel safety stock policy of responding to customers' inventory distribution network is suggested. this paper explores the transportation between Central Distribution Center(CDC) and Regional Distribution Center(RDC). Especially, the relation of transportation cost between CDC and RDC and cost of inventory control according to safety inventory with service level are emphasized. We could obtain the good results of this study by determining the optimal safety stock considering the various variables and constraints.

  • In relation to the global increase trend of obesity population, there is a demand for the development of foods having high functional activity by mass-extracting anti-obesity active substances using mulberry product such as leaf and fruit. Therefore, we evaluated the antiobesity efficacy according to varieties by using the mulberry leaves and fruit extracts. At the same time, high active varieties were selected. For this purpose, the effects of the extracts of the mulberry leaf and fruit on 3T3-L1 adipocyte differentiation were examined. As a result, in the case of mulberry leaves, the lipid accumulation inhibitory rate of 'Cheongolppong' was higher than that of the control at $500{\mu}g/ml$ treatment. And in the case of the extract of mulberry fruit, 'Daesim' showed the highest lipid accumulation inhibitory rate compared with the control at 50 times of diluted extract.

  • The public has negative understanding about dam construction nowadays although dam plays an important role in water supply to satisfy essential demand for living. Dam rehabilitation, in this actuality, has been recognized as an alternative to expedite continuous water policies related to irrigation and flood control. This study focused on dam rehabilitation and included its necessity and discussions on case histories associated with increasing reservoir capacity, spillway modification, overtopping protection, seepage control and improving stability of old dam. This paper, in geotechnical aspects, presents discussions of various rehabilitation methods and factors to be considered in designing dam rehabilitation.

  • As the necessity of increasing the midnight base load is extensively increased, electric power companies have to increase the demand of midnight electrical power by lowering the electrical charge rate at midnight. One of the most widely used midnight equipments is the heat Storage type's electrical boiler. A Single chip microprocessor controller for the heat-storage type's electrical boiler is developed. This controller call reduce the undesirable peak load at the begining of midnight (i.e.11 P.M.) time band by using backward load control method. Futhermore, this controller enables reservation of heat storge and the effective heating control the field test has been done by use the boiler for 66$m^2$ with the heater of 21KW quality.

  • 인구증가와 경제성장 및 문화발전에 수반하여 전력수요는 증가되고 사용시간과 장소가 집중되는 경향이다. 따라서 계절별, 일형별, 시간별, 지역별로 부하차이가 심해지고 부하율이 저하한다. 종래와 같이 예측되는 전력수요 곡선을 왜곡(distortion)시키지 않고 그대로 충족시킬 수 있는 설비를 계획하고 건설하여 운용하는 공급관리(SSM:Supply Side Management)에 의존할 때는 설비증설과 투자비가 증가하고 설비이용율이 저하하며 운전유지비가 증가하여 전력단가가 높아진다. 뿐만 아니라 지구환경을 해롭게 하는 CO$_{2}$ 배출량이 증가한다. 이러한 실저에서 설비투자비와 운전유지비를 절감하고 환경보전을 하기 위하여 수요곡선의 모양을 개선하도록 유도할 필요가 있다. 최근 세계적 추세는 부하관리와 효율향상 등으로 수요곡선 모양을 개선하는 수요관리(DSM:Demand-Side Management)에 치중하고 있다. 여기서는 전력수요고나리의 효과적 방법으로서 이른바 원격부하제어(RLC: Remote Load Control), 일명 직접부하제어(Direct Load Control)시스템으 개발기술을 검토한다. 개발코자 하는 RLC시스템은 일시정지시켜도 지장이 적은 수용가의 부하를 주기적으로 공급자가 제어할 수 있도록 하여 가변부하조성(Flexible Load Shape)을 하는 것이다. 가변부하조성은 필요시 운전예비율을 공급자와 수요자가 분담함으로서 전력수급의 안정을 도모하고 사회적 공급 지장비용을 경감시킬 수 있다.

  • Hydraulic fitting impulse tester is equipment which produce impulse pressure waveform that specified foreign standard of SAE, JIS etc. Test conditions of SAE J1453 about waveform standard indicates frequency of 35-70 cycle/min, pressure of 560 bar, oil temperature of 93 .+-.3.deg. C etc. and required cycle is a million over. In additions, Test condition operated continuously equipment. This development item adopted new pattern method such as intensifier and rotary distributor is different from already established fitting impulse tester applied servo valve and high pressure direct directional control valve. Therefore, this development item which compares already established item is good reliability, low cost of manufacture and save of electric energy. especially, Domestic small and medium enterprise uses this tester because of economical cause. We develope appropriateness tester which conforms to demand of user.

  • Recently, as the demand of small-sized precision parts is rising in precision industry such as mobile, automobile, optic. etc. the requirement of small-sized machine tool is increasing. Desktop machine tool define small-sized machine tool that is able to install in table. According to diminishing in size, Desktop machine tool is able to economize production cost by reducing work area and consuming electric power. But Desktop machine tool generates vibration in acceleration and deceleration modes by inertia force of moving part. Also vibration is generated when it move simultaneously two axis or three axis. Such generating vibration situation is reason of declining stiffness of machine tool structure because of smallizing in size. And this vibration has a large effect on precision of machining products. Therefore, evaluating of the control characteristic is necessary for minimizing vibration of machine tool as much as possible to accomplish precision machining of small-sized parts

  • In order'to reduce loss of shrimp productivity by viral diseases on the cultured shrimp, we were develope the effective shrimp virus control system. Virus is inactivated by above 5 ppm of chloride and treatment of 50% fresh water. Mortality of infected shrimp is decreased by feeding of immunostimulants such as peptidoglycan and schizophyllan. Mg(OH)$_2$ was one of improvement agents which have best effect on pH, ignition loss(IL), chemical oxidation demand(COD) and total sulfide of water and sediment of shrimp farm.

  • Railway signal facilities are very important because they are directly related to safe train operation. By the result of the unification of signal and station control, station control staffs have been having a hard time to grasp the knowledge about signal facilities and the fault restoration ability in a short term since the existing manuals were only made with text materials. To meet the growing demand to educate the maintenance work in actual and effective way, the maintenance manuals and periodic procedures was developed in the forms of video clips and animations with quality contents onto a DVD enabling not only to improve the maintenance works for signal facilities but to contribute budget saving and profit generating.
