  • This paper proposes a decentralized adaptive output-feedback controller design for nonlinear interconnected systems with unknown time delays. The interaction terms with unknown delays are related to all states of subsystems. The time-delayed functions are compensated by using appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals and function approximation technique. The observer dynamic surface design technique is employed to design the proposed memoryless local controller for each subsystem. In addition, we prove that all signals in the closed-loop system are semiglobally uniformly bounded and control errors converge to an adjustable neighborhood of the origin.

  • In this paper, the complex nonlinear dynamics of a satellite is obtained. And it is shown that several limitations exist when the magnetorquer is used as an active actuator to attitude control. Such limitations cause a delayed convergence of pitch and roll angle. The simulation results insure that the roll angle bias is dependent on the z axis spin rate. And a heuristic algorithm is applied to control the attitude libration through the computer simulations.

  • In this paper, a method is presented for designing a tracking and disturbance rejecting controller for a nonlinear control system in which approximate linearization is not applicable due to a s stiff nonlinearity. Only the measurable variables are used for the controller synthesis. The system is augmented by a compensator at the output side for the tracking and disturbance rejection. An output delayed feedback controller is designed for the augmented system without nonlinearity. Then the feedback parameters are adjusted by describing function method to overcome the limit cycle due to the nonlinearity.

  • A non-fragile guaranteed cost control (GCC) problem is presented for a class of discrete time-delay nonlinear systems described by Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model. The systems are assumed to have norm-bounded time-varying uncertainties in the matrices of state, delayed state and control gains. Sufficient conditions are first obtained which guarantee that the closed-loop system is asymptotically stable and the closed-loop cost function value is not more than a specified upper bound. Then the design method of the non-fragile guaranteed cost controller is formulated in terms of the linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach. A numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed design method.

  • In this paper, we newly propose a predictor model which is a method to overcome the time-varying delay in a system and we verify that the predictor model is well suited for the time-delayed system and improves the stability a lot through the experiments. The proposed predict compensator compensates uncertain time delays and minimizes variance of system performance. Therefore it is suitable for the control of uncertain systems and nonlinear systems that are difficult to be modeled. The simulation conditions are set for the cases of various input time delays and simulations are applied for the 2-axis robot arms which are drawing a circle on the plane. Conclusively, the proposed predict compensator represents stable properties regardless of the time delay. As a future research, we suggest to develope a robust control algorithm to compensate the random time delay which occurs in the tole-operated systems.

  • This paper proposes a novel intelligent digital redesign technique for a class of nonlinear systems represented by input-delayed Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy systems. The digitally redesigned controller can show good performance provided that the analog controller is well-designed. The developed digital redesign technique is based on the 'state-matching', so the control performance is guaranteed as well as the stability of the system. An simulation example is included to ensure the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • A modified fuzzy mechanical control of large-scale multiple time delayed dynamic systems in states is considered in this paper. To do this, at the first level, a two-step strategy is proposed to divide a large system into several interconnected subsystems. As a modified fuzzy control command, the next was received as feedback theory based on the energetic function and the LMI optimal stability criteria which allow researchers to solve this problem and have the whole system in asymptotically stability. Modeling the Fisher equation and the temperature gauge for high-speed aircraft and spacecraft shows that the calculation method is efficient.

  • In this paper, we consider the stability condition for the linear discrete systems with time-varying delay and unstructured uncertainty. The considered system has time invariant system matrices for non-delayed and delayed state variables, but its delay time is time-varying within certain interval and it is subjected to nonlinear unstructured uncertainty which only gives information on uncertainty magnitude. In the many previous literatures, the time-varying delay and unstructured uncertainty can not be dealt in simultaneously but separately. In the paper, new stability conditions are derived for the case to which two factors are subjected together and compared with the existing results considering only one factor. The new stability conditions improving many previous results are proposed as very effective inequality equations without complex numerical algorithms such as LMI(Linear Matrix Inequality) or Lyapunov equation. By numerical examples, it is shown that the proposed conditions are able to include the many existing results and have better performances in the aspects of expandability and effectiveness.

  • The dynamic system approach in time series has been used in many real problems. Based on Taken's embedding theorem, we can build the predictive function where input is the time delay coordinates vector which consists of the lagged values of the observed series and output is the future values of the observed series. Although the time delay coordinates vector from multivariate time series brings more information than the one from univariate time series, it can exhibit statistical redundancy which disturbs the performance of the prediction function. We apply dimension reduction techniques to solve this problem and analyze the effect of this approach for prediction. Our experiment uses delayed Lorenz series; least squares support vector regression approximates the predictive function. The result shows that linearly preserving projection improves the prediction performance.
