Test Point Insertion with Control Point by Greater Use of Existing Functional Flip-Flops

  • This paper presents a novel test point insertion (TPI) method for a pseudo-random built-in self-test (BIST) to reduce the area overhead. Recently, a new TPI method for BISTs was proposed that tries to use functional flip-flops to drive control test points instead of adding extra dedicated flip-flops for driving control points. The replacement rule used in a previous work has limitations preventing some dedicated flip-flops from being replaced by functional flip-flops. This paper proposes a logic cone analysis-based TPI approach to overcome the limitations. Logic cone analysis is performed to find candidate functional flop-flops for replacing dedicated flip-flops. Experimental results indicate that the proposed method reduces the test point area overhead significantly with minimal loss of testability by replacing the dedicated flip-flops.

A Lagrangian Relaxation Approach to Capacity Planning for a Manufacturing System with Flexible and Dedicated Machines

  • We consider a multiperiod capacity planning problem for determining a mix of flexible and dedicated capacities under budget restriction. These capacities are controlled by purchasing flexible machines and/or new dedicated machines and disposing old dedicated machines. Acquisition and replacement schedules are determined and operations are assigned to the flexible or dedicated machines for the objective of minimizing the sum of discounted costs of acquisition and operation of flexible machines, new dedicated machines, and old dedicated machines. In this research, the Problem is formulated as a mixed integer linear Program and solved by a Lagrangian relaxation approach. A subgradient optimization method is employed to obtain lower bounds and a multiplier adjustment method is devised to improve the bounds. We develop a linear programming based Lagrangian heuristic algorithm to find a good feasible solution of the original problem. Results of tests on randomly generated test problems show that the algorithm gives relatively good solutions in a reasonable amount of computation time.

Severity Factors Affecting Tire Wear (타이어 마모에 영향을 미치는 가혹도 인자)

  • Tire wear is one of the factors that most drivers have concerned and is closely related to the tire life. It is very difficult to predict tire wear because the factors affecting tire wear seem to be very comlicated. Tire wear test should be performed at real conditions for the evaluation of tire wear. In this study, we analyze tire wear according to the severities of test courses by using the dedicated test method, more severe than real driving conditions. In order to simplify the factors affecting tire wear, we define roads’ driving severities to be driving severity numbers, DSNs which are obtained by measuring the lateral accelerations of test courses. And we compared tire wear rates and profiles with DSNs. These test results can provide the tire design guide to meet tire wear performance.

  • To analyze the effect of temperature on pavement types of dedicated lane, we have performed a temperature monitoring for pavements which were constructed in test track for Bimodal Tram. These pavements classified into four types; natural and artificial lawn, concrete and asphalt. Dedicated lane composed of natural and artificial lawn has a complex structure with concrete slab in contact surface of tires, and with 1m natural or artificial lawn in the middle part of lane. From monitoring results for pavements, dedicated lane with natural lawn shows lower temperature value compared with other dedicated lanes, and it is expected to decrease the heat island effect of conventional road if constructed.

Operation Cost Comparison of Dedicated Outdoor and Cooling + reheating Air-conditioning Systems by On-site Performance Test (현장성능시험에 의한 외기전용과 냉각식 + 재열 공조기의 운전비 비교)

  • Dedicated outdoor air(DOA) system which conditions the outdoor air separately is superior to conventional Cooling + reheating system with respect to energy consumption and indoor comfort. Since the sensible and latent load characteristics of indoor and outdoor are different, it is more efficient to treat them separately. In this study, cycle analysis and on-site performance test of DOA system have been conducted. The study shows that DOA requires 50% less equivalent energy than the conventional system. The on-site performance test of a prototype shows that the coefficient of performance(COP) of the DOA system is 37% higher than the conventional system.

  • Natural gas is considered to be on e of the most promising candidates for a clean substitute fuel and a great amount of research on the compressed natural gas(CNG) fueled vehicle has been performed. In this s tudy, we try to understand the property of CNG fuel with using CNG engine experiment. In order to present the direction and application of CNG, we experiment with various operating conditions that is, spark timing, A/F ratio, air quantity and fuel quantity, etc. 11,967 cc engine was used in the experiment and the engine fuel ratio was determined in the way that the performance of dedicated CNG engine is corresponded to that of existing diesel engine. The performance and dedicated CNG engine were measured by changing the fuel injection timing. The dedicated CNG engine was proved to be good in describing the experimental results and according to the actual road test, acceleration and constant speed driving for dedicated CNG engine was better than existing diesel engine.

The Design and Experiment of AI Device Communication System Equipped with 5G (5G를 탑재한 AI 디바이스 통신 시스템의 설계 및 실험)

  • In this paper, IO+5G dedicated hardware is developed and an AI device communication system equipped with a 5G is designed and tested. The AI device communication system equipped with a 5G receives the collected real-time images and the information collected from the IoT sensor in real time is to analyze the information and generates the risk detection events in the AI processing board. The event generated in the AI processing board creates a 5G channel in the dedicated hardware equipped with IO+5G. The created 5G channel delivers event video to the control video server. The 5G based dongle network enables faster data collection and more precise data measurement compared to wireless LAN and 5G routers. As a result of the experiment in this paper, the average test result of the 5G dongle network is about 51% faster than the Wi-Fi average test result in downlink and about 40% faster in uplink. In addition, when comparing the test result with terms of the 5G rounter to be set to 80% upload and 20% download, the average test result is that the 5G dongle network is about 11.27% faster when downloading and about 17.93% faster when uploading. when comparing the test result with terms of the the router to be set to 60% upload and 40% download, the 5G dongle network is about 11.19% faster when downlinking and about 13.61% faster when uplinking. Therefore, in this paper it describes that the developed 5G dongle network can improve the results by collecting data and analyzing it faster than wireless LAN and 5G routers.

An analysis of the educational needs priorities for clinical nurse educators: Utilizing the Borich needs assessment and the locus for focus model (임상간호교육자의 교육요구도 우선순위 분석: Borich 요구도와 locus for focus model 활용)

  • Purpose: This study used a descriptive investigative design to compare the educational needs and priorities of education-dedicated nurses and preceptors regarding clinical nurse educator competency. Methods: A survey was conducted from March to April 2023 with 308 participants, including 140 education-dedicated nurses and 168 preceptors. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a paired t-test with the IBM SPSS 26.0 program. For the purpose of analyzing educational needs, we further analyzed data through the Borich needs assessment and the locus for focus model. Results: Among the clinical nurse educator competency, both education-dedicated nurses and preceptors identified "new theory and practice" as the highest priority educational need. Additionally, education-dedicated nurses prioritized "teaching design ability," "teaching evaluation ability," and "evidence-based nursing/practice and research," while preceptors prioritized "clinical nursing knowledge" and "professional development ability" as their educational needs. Conclusion: While both education-dedicated nurses and preceptors responded that education is necessary for all the competency areas required of clinical nurse educators, variations were observed in their reported educational needs and priorities. Thus, it is imperative to develop and implement a differentiated education program for enhancing the competency of clinical nurse educators that considers the distinct requirements of education-dedicated nurses and preceptors.

Commissioning and Validation of a Dedicated Scanning Nozzle at Samsung Proton Therapy Center

  • In this study, we present the commissioning and validation results of a dedicated scanning nozzle. The dedicated scanning nozzle is installed in one of the two gantry treatment rooms at Samsung Proton Therapy Center. Following a successful completion of the acceptance test, the commissioning process including the beam data measurement for treatment planning system has been conducted. Extended measurements have been conducted as a validation of the clinical performance of the nozzle and various quality assurance protocols have been prepared.
